Halloween 1979
I took this picture with my Fuji 35mm camera, no flash, and 135 mm lens, standing just off the floor in front of the stage on Jerry’s side. I was barely 17 years old and did not know what I was doing. The negative was the 4th frame on the roll so I always assumed it was during China / Ryder. There was a guy at the Roosevelt Field Flea Market who made and sold 8x10 photographic prints and small posters of this image. However he got the color wrong and cropped Brent’s arm. The poster erroneously attributes the photo to my buddy Michael. My original 3x5 print is more yellow in tone. This was my 4th show. Great show. I used to think the Edtimated / Eyes was the hilight of the show. But I have come to realize that the hilight is the monster Wharf Rat into Truckin’. If you listen to all the 1979 Truckin’ versions that end the set you can totally hear how Jerry was putting together the jam at the end and this one IMO is best. Happy Halloween.
