Mickey Hart Band New Dates Added

The Mickey Hart Band has added new "Above the Clouds" tour dates in May in support of Hart's forthcoming album, Mysterium Tremendum, due out April 10th, 2012. The band also announced earlier this week that they will be performing at the All Good Music Festival in Thornville, OH on July 22.

A message from Mickey: "Can't wait to unleash Mysterium Tremendum to you all in just over a month. This band is on fire and the cd shines like a silver dollar. We are ready to get on the bus to create something special and unique with these new songs. We'll be pulling out some of my favorite Dead tunes on this tour and take them for a ride as well. Music connects us with the spirit in us and we need this powerful medicine now more than ever."

cannot WAIT for more of Mickey's magic!!!!! but that art designer should be shot. at close range. twice. if you search for the new video on youtube at MickeyHartsMusic channel, regarding this release - http://www.youtube.com/user/MickeyHartMusic/videos the image that accompanies it SHOULD have been the new artwork. no artist name or title on the front, just deep space trance. let people discover it's hidden pulse! stop the printing press!!!!!!!!!

"firearm flam" might be just a touch extreme. I'll stick to just double-tapping my toes to these awesome tunes. Hope I can catch this lineup live somewhere. In the meantime, thanks for the vid!

Classic Rock 101 & Rock.It Boy Entertainment proudly present THE MICKEY HART BAND on Tuesday, May 8 at the Vogue Theatre. Tickets are $42.50 and $37.50 (Plus Facility Fee & Service Charges) available at the Vogue Theatre Box Office, online at www.voguetheatre.com or charge by phone 604-569-1144. Best known for three decades as half of the percussion tandem known as the Rhythm Devils, MICKEY HART was an integral part of the extraordinary expedition into the soul and spirit of music, we know as The Grateful Dead. The extended polyrhythmic excursions of Mickey and Bill were highlights of Grateful Dead shows. The Grateful Dead percussionist’s endeavor to cross borders and expand musical horizons has resulted in an eclectic world sound that must be heard to be believed. Described as “experimental music from outer space meets the funkiest rhythm section”, the show will feature brand new material as well as selections of MICKEY HART’s greatest hits and Grateful Dead songs. MICKEY HART and his partners in Planet Drum released a self-titled album that spent 26 weeks at #1 on the Billboard World Music Chart and received the Grammy for Best World Music Album (1991). The Global Drum Project took home the Grammy for Best Contemporary World Music Album (2007). MICKEY HART has been honored repeatedly for his contributions. The Grateful Dead was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (1994). Along with the other members of the Grateful Dead, Mickey received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award (2007). Additionally, Mickey was inducted into the Percussive Arts Society Hall of Fame (2009), received the NARAS SF Chapter Governors Award (2004), Surround Music Awards Best Multi-track Reissue (2002) for Grateful Dead American Beauty and a Music Has Power Award (2003).
