Spanish Jam
Phil Shows
I have to say that I have had no interest in going to a Phil & Friends show, primarily because I have never been a fan of Phil Lesh the singer. I never thought of it as his forte. Does Phil sing the all the songs at his shows or does the band pitch in as well? Perhaps I might hit up a show this Summer.
let phil sing
There are normally a couple of other people who sing, depending on the line up, most recently it has been Jackie Greene
but in the past Ryan Adams, Joan Osborne, Warren H etc have benn in the band

Spanish Jam
Phil's singing
You'll forget all about Phil's singing when the 1st jam starts! These guys are amazing. Dare I say? I like Phil and friends BETTER than the Grateful Dead!
Are you kidding?
I'll be the first to admit that Phil's bands over the years have been great, but come on!!! Better than the Grateful Dead. You must either be 1) deaf, 2) very young, or 3) been exposed to the wrong GD music.
Which Phil and Friends
the thing with Phil's band is the personel changes and so does the music with it.
The currant lineup are good, Larry Campbell is a great guitarist, but better than JG i doubt it, and Jackie Greene is no Weir.
You might prefer PLF but i don't think they are better, they are basically a very good Dead Cover band

Bamski...
I used to say the same, he's not a singer- why go....well he surrounds himself with great artists and it's always a good time. The jams are fantastic and now I kick myself for skipping 2 years before seeing him & friends. it's a good time, go get some tix and have a good start to the summer Ami
