“The Omnipotent Grateful Dead!”
OK Lets begin -
Will Ferrel as Parish
Fozzy Bear as Uncle Bobo or Garcia (You pick)
Nicolas Cage as Bobby
Ken Kesey as Self
Who wants to continue?
There are some really funny cast suggestions but also some very mean spirited energy over at the Rolling Stone site about the movie under news for 7/06/07. I wrote the comment smile, smile, smile,
Do I contradict myself?
Very well then I contradict myself,
(I am large, I contain multitudes.)
Walt Whitman-Song of Myself
Jerry - W. C. Fields
Bob - The Roadrunner
Phil - Dr. Science
Mickey - Bruce Lee
Bill - Keith Moon/Elvin Jones hybrid borg
or Laurel and Hardy could play Mickey and Bill
Kesey - Jack Nicholson
Pigpen - Robert Johnson
Tom C. - The Professor from Gilligan's Island

Like I said yesterday, these sort of films make me nervous. There's a chance of the Dead and us fans coming off as cartoon characters.
Anyway, how about Benicio del Toro as Jerry?
Yo Soy Boricua!
to try and cast this movie.
Could use the DSO guys I guess....
hmmmmmmm,
I will have to think about this one.
Fractionally skeptical about a movie on this.
“The Omnipotent Grateful Dead!”
I just hope they do the boys and one girl justice. To me they are an american icon in music history. As far as casting that would be a most difficult task I think the members would have to be several people throughout the years
I am sure Bob Weir will be there to make sure things don't get out of hand to make sure things don't get blown out of perportion stick to the truth with some comedy and drama and of course lots of good good music
Personally I feel the actors should not be major Hollywood actors and they should, of course, do justice to dead. The movie should be made with heart and meaning if it is to be taken seriously and liked. This has a potential to be a very great film, or something negative. Obviously music would be a huge aspect, but I really would like to have heart, good actors (acting and resembling likeness), and music.
