I always felt that song to be very spiritual. That would be my choice to guide me to the other side!!

I don't think any explanation is needed. Those songs should cover me both ways. A 'Round Trip Ticket, I would say. If I had to pick one song, I'd say "Anthem of the Sun" (I know it's an album as well).
The Dude Abides!
If you mean another dimension or maybe you mean what is after this life it would be Dark Star; if I was able to choose one, I have gone to other worlds, realities, spaces with it for years.
If it is an easy cruise during the day Truckin; a walk in the park or meadow
But if I am dragged kicking and screaming and not ready it would be Hell In A Bucket.
If it is really out there like some science fiction movie or book Space for sure.
And it may even be in a way I don't expect or want or even comprehend and then it would be Feedback.
If it is during great sickness it would be the comfort of Black Muddy River, To Lay Me Down or We Bid You Goodnight
Do I contradict myself?
Very well then I contradict myself,
(I am large, I contain multitudes.)

Hey Now!
It's been a while since I've been here. Anyway, this is a neat topic, so I'll offer my two cents.
I'd have to say Dark Star 11/11/73 (I think they boys did chart another world here) or, if we can add non Dead tunes, Monty Python's "Always Look on the Bright side of Life."
As the song goes: " If life seems jolly rotten, there's something you've forgotten, and that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing/ For life is quite absurd And death's the final word. You must always face the curtain with a bow.Forget about your sin.Give the audience a grin.Enjoy it. It's your last chance, anyhow. So...Always look on the bright side of death,Just before you draw your terminal breath." Watch it here:

"All energy flows according to the whims of the Great Magnet. What a fool I was to defy him."
in that it depends.
For a mellow peaceful floaty/sad transition: Brokedown Palace
For a more energetic moment: Beat it on down the line
and always always always The Wheel
GREAT TOPIC, btw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not entirely sure just what JaimeAlphaMale means, but...
...if I want to be transported to another world, Anthem of the Sun would do it nicely! And has for 39 years!
It's hard to believe there could be anything better - transportation-wise - than "Dark Star", but Anthem truly is the place to go. It represents the moment of their legacy - so chrystal-clear, absolute inspiration. Gotsta agree w/ ya, Siebsmeister. Right on! To the sun and back again! Brilliant! Alligator...
"From day to day, just lettin' it ride,
You get so far away from how it feels inside,
You can't let go, 'cause you're afraid to fall,
But the day may come when you can't feel at all."
I haven't done drugs for almost 30 years. 1979 for the herbifumaceous stuff, 1973 for chemicals. But listening to A.O.T.S. gets me off as good as any of those ever did. And at the end of the entire piece, I'm forced, once again to go... whew!, just as I did when I got high, way back when.
Must be the arrangements of the notes, or the musical structure that sets off chemical changes in my brain. What ever it is... it works!

In another topic, JaimeAlphaMale inquired:
If your ascent to the other world or your ascension Back had A Grateful dead song playing what would it be?
And hey, that question seems to deserve its own topic. So...
