The closest I've ever come

The closest I've ever come to attending this was the 8-28-82 GD show on the fairgrounds, that being the 10-year anniversary of the show later released as Sunshine Daydream. Since there's little chance of another Dead show there, I keep hoping to be able to go to the actual Fair some year, but this is not the year.

It is without a doubt the most beautiful venue I was ever in. The word "magical" is seriously overused, but it's aptly applied to that place.

If anyone's been, tell us about it!

Well worth the trip. The grounds crackle with psychedelic energy. So much creativity and joy! My wife and I have been going for at least eight years. Come if you can. If you have any questions email me.

First post here. This is a good jumping in point for me.
My wife and I are hardcore about the fair. It's our only "every year no matter what" road trip.
It's all that was good about chasing the dead and virtually none of the bad.
Awesome music and performances everywhere and all those blissed out familiar faces!
My 7 yo boy LOVES it. We camp at Zumwalt which is perfectly suited for families.
Hope to see you there next year!

back in 1990 i happened to

back in 1990 i happened to be in the area and went to the OCF. i had had a powerful psychedelic experience at the beach a day or two earlier, and the OCF was simply too much for me to handle. I haven't had a chance to attend since, but would LOVE TO eventually.
