Great job, folks. Great looking site.

A few things I've noticed and/or might humbly suggest:

--Any chance of using keyboard shortcuts (ctrl-i, etc.) instead of HTML tags in the comments? (Also, for the "More information about formatting options" link beneath the text window, would you consider a pop-up with the formatting options in it? It's a link to a new page now, and when I clicked it then came back here, what I'd written was gone.)

--Am I right that starting new topics is disabled at the moment? I tried to create a "What's your favorite Jack Straw" thread, and not seeing a completely appropriate forum or sub-forum, I chose "Grateful Dead." It wasn't til I tried to post it that I got a message that I coulnd't create in that forum.

Quite a few niggling problems with the database (I assume?) that's feeding the "Shows & Songs" section. Not sure whether/how important it is to be painstakingly accurate with this stuff (Deabase is pretty good), but just in adding some shows I've attended, I noticed:
* I'm fairly sure the list for Charlotte (N.C.) Coliseum should actually be two separate venues; one through '84 I believe and the other from '89 on.
* The shows aren't all in exact chronological order under Hampton (Va.) Coliseum
* Clicking on Washington, D.C., brings a link to venues in "Washington" (not state) and "Washington, D.C." These can be combined.
* For 9/12/90, the "Notes" don't match the setlist.
* No setlist at all comes up for 6/24/95, 6/25/95, 6/22/91.

I've enjoyed checking this out this weekend. Thanks for the opportunity to comment.

you said: I tried to create a "What's your favorite Jack Straw" thread, and not seeing a completely appropriate forum or sub-forum, I chose "Grateful Dead."

Please check out the Grateful Dead Forum ..... I was thinking about starting just such a topic this morning!!

And yes, for the moment

And yes, for the moment topic starting is disabled. Partly in the interest of working out the bugs in a finite number of topics. But if you think there's something we can't live without right now, let us know and we'll start it.

And I rechecked the All Shows link and now it's fine. Hmmmm....I tried it 4 times yesterday before posting. Maybe it was my connection at home (at work now).

Howdy-doo and here's to YOU

Howdy-doo and here's to YOU for making this wonderful little sunny glade in the internet wasteland!

Don't know if it's a problem or my ignorance, just reporting that after clicking on recent posts and going to the one for forum=show the post for November 23, 1968 seems to be credited to brother Lane, who might be surprised that he was there! I posted the original. I see also there are 2 replies but only find one when I open it. Do I have stumblefingers...?

In the bloom of awesomeness that is this budding site, this stuff "ain't hardly bad" but it might be worth a look-see.

Muchas Garcias!

Apparently Jonathan (who works here) started those topics and his name is forevermore attached whether he attended or not. This is the best I can figure out; I've noticed this too. When he gets a spare moment he might come along and correct my ignorance.

Oh, and as to the number of replies, the original post seems to be counted as a reply. Which strikes me as odd too, but that's how it seems to work.
