L.A.L.A. Land
I ate something that a Native American gave me, and then I swam naked with lots of other people. And somehow (thank you whoever you are), I made it back home to NYC with aud masters of both shows.
LA Olympics and The Grateful Dead
Was working at the Olympics and drove up in my 1966 Mustang for the weekend. Could park right at the beach and slept in the back seat. The Olympic spirit and the deadheads good vibes made for an excellent summer of 1984. I had only $34 to my name and Touch of Grey reassured me that I will survive. First time I heard it and I always remembered that... and I was never that low on cash again...whew
Fun at the beach.
We got to camp out in the lot surrounding the fairgrounds and I remember LA area bands out showing up with all of their equipment, stage, lights, and generators. They set up and after the 2pm show was over they would play for hours into the night. I am sure these were guys out here from middle America trying to make it big in LA and this was a way to promote. Some of them were very good.
