St. Helens
St. Stephen59
I had just moved to Eugene from Bend and drove my parents old Pontiac to the concert. It was really wierd after the show with the ash falling. It was a quiet drive back to Eugene.
My first Show
I was 15, my big brother saw his first show 2.5 years earlier at the Portland Paramount in '77 and convinced me to throw away my Styxx 8 tracks and plug into bootleg cassettes of these hippies.
After the show, as noted above, it was "snowing" ash as Mt St. Helens erupted DRUING Fire on the mountain.
It was then I knew these guys were on to something..........
Only Dead show
This was the only Dead show I saw, but it is the one concert that I will remember for the rest of my life.......
Rainin' ash
Yes indeedy, certainly one of the most bizarre scenes walking out of the venue, ash foofing down like snowflakes....Fire on the Mountain, indeed!
there she blows
the words came from Phils mic....an amazing evening of mythical proportions....

frisko-mobb shop tattoo aurora,co---wow definetly the most interesting show of my career!walked into the show w/ my buddies sean and hank, sipping from a very small bottle that at one time held 10 thou m.i rember being up at the show thinking i was in a flying saucer ,and the dead were playing and we were on our way to another planet in space.after the eruption of fire on the mtn and the show was over,we went to the airport, and all of a sudden all the ash came down.not knowing what was really happening, and triiping out of our minds,we thought it was the end of the world!(necular explosion/chemical warfare!!!)car melting and doing the fixing to die rag,we drove off.unbeknowngst to us ,toured mt st helens.our car broke down.everyone driving by us were wearing masks and headed over the hill into a bright light.the cops pulled over to try and help us and hank started talking about l.s.d. and the dead, and sean in the back seat screaming like a bitch(desearved a much needed slap in the face )and old beat up wagon pulled up w/ a guy named jerry,we thought it was jerry reincarnated coming to save us!he ended up taking us to his house, which was tour up frm the explosion.suddlenly 3 little girls ages 3-5 came out of the bed room.one w/ a violin, the other guitar, and the last signing.these were jerrys children-buiteful little angles.still waiting to die, some how the children sang to me to sleep.the nxt morning we unbelivable still alive, jerry gave us a ride to our car which was covered w/ 3 inches of ash!took it to joes garage got "bertha" fixed, caught the show in seattle, hank put his car on a boat to alaska shows, and ended fucking it up on the alkine hwy. and thats my story.....
