This was a hot and dusty place with some grass (not that kind) thown in... A fun show, but glad it only happened here once. It was good to here that KY Derby favorite and the Fantasy was a treat too. It was hard not to miss mr Walton bopping around back stage...

what's in a name?

i remember this show as being very very hot, but it may have just felt like that to me cuz i was 5 months pregnant. we had been bouncing baby names back and forth for weeks, but when they broke into loose lucy, my husband and i looked at each other and we knew we had a lucy. she's almost 17 now and a senior in high school (gosh, where do the years go?). she turns a vivid shade of red when we tell her where her name came from...

I took the girl who would be wife to her first dead show here.

Everything was great until near the end of the show. I remember seeing the crowd part like Moses parting the water, and straight down the center was this guy who had totally lost it. He was rolling around like a monkey, grabbing anything wet off of anyones blanket and pouring it over his head.

As he got closer I could see the wild expression in his eyes, and lime green shot running out his nose. I could also see he was coming straight for us.

It was scary, here he came rollin' and tunblin', crazy eyes -- we grabbed out stuff as quick as we could, but security was able to tackle the guy and take him to where he could get some help.

And my future wife STILL went to another show !!

I may be going to hell in a bucket ... but at least I'm enjoying the ride!!!!

Hot as Heck!!!

Those weather at these shows was so very f-ing hot that people were dropping like flies. There were people from Rock-Med patrolling through the crowd with walkie-talkies, and when they found someone in bad shape they would radio and wave a red flag so the emergency crew could find em quick. When I got back up north, I found an article in the local paper about the heat wave in L.A.!! Yeah it was hot, but it was a lot of fun... For whatever reason I have fond memories of these shows. Hmmmm, was it because I met a new and very special friend here? Nice memories of this one!!
