Hey Grateful Dead Store. Please re-make those! Its popular! They love the Skeleton bottom in which I walked on Venice Beach, California Yesterday and people saw the Skeleton prints on the sand and followed & stopped me and asked me where did I get those.

It drives me crazy! and I have been surfing on the website and ended up signing in this Grateful Dead Website. So here the picture attached and please re-make!

A co-worker at Whole Earth Access in Berkeley got Jerry's autograph for me on Dec 17, 1991 as a Christmas present. I'd met Jerry earlier that day as he perused the software section of the store (I worked in the warehouse in shipping/receiving). We chatted a little about the untimely death of Bill Graham and Jerry confirmed that they'd go ahead and play the New Year's Eve shows "without Father Time."

In January 1992 I attended the "Blues Against Blindness" benefit for the Seva Foundation at the Berkeley Community Theatre. I bought "gold circle" seats for my friend, Annamarie, and I which included a post-show reception in the cafeteria (I think) of Berkeley High School. Bobby had performed with Hot Tuna and was at the reception, so I lingered long enough to ask him for his autograph.

Tie dyed beret

I bought this hat in the Oakland Colliseum parking lot sometime in the early 90s. As you can see, it has received plenty solar radiation before being retired as it is way way faded.

I'm hoping that one of you out there either knows who made this all cotton beret so I can contact them for another OR can make me one now as I surely do miss wearing it.

This highly detailed and quality pendant surfaced at a show sometime around late 1989 and was gifted to me. Besides its apparently strong energy for "wish-granting" and good luck, it has a small upside down "925" (silver) stamp on the rear surface of the lightning bolt with no other noticeable markings. I have been told that Bear made some pieces very closely resembling this one and wonder if anybody may have related information about this piece. Thanx!

So many miles.... and still going strong! I got this on the way into the show, not sure if it was 9-10 or 9-11-83 in Santa Fe,dude was still trying to get rid of his Utah stock so he could make next show, i traded him my xtra ticket for the shirt. I laugh at the memories every time one of my kids wears it for a niteshirt(modeled by my 10yr old daughter). Hey dude, hope you enjoyed the show :))) I did ;))) There was a fantastic rainbow behind Jerry after a storm rolled through, wish I had my camera for that:(

The "Black Book" of the Dead

This is the ultra rare "Black Book" of the Dead. So called because of the all black cover.
It was given away free at the Lyceum (London, England) shows in May 1972 during the Europe "72 tour.

Advertisement for Woodstock in Rolling Stone Magazine. Note the cheap ticket prices! My friend and myself made plans to go but when our parents found out we were going to hitch-hike from California to New York, they decided firmly and adamantly against it. (I was only 15 in '69). We were so mad at them we considered running away from home and going anyway but changed our minds when we thought about how much trouble we'd get into. Not the first, but definately one of the dumbest decisions I've ever made. Even if I had been grounded for life it would have been worth every second! Remember to always go with your first instincts!!

An interesting note about the ad: although it states the location as Walkill Ny the concert site was actually in Bethel. This is because the ads were sent out before all the final preparations had been made. The town of Walkill didn't want a half million hippies in their backyard so the city council voted against it. Good ol' Max Yasgur saw an opportunity to help out (and make a few bucks in the process) and offered his farm for the concert. Also the band line up wasn't finalized yet either so there are several bands listed that didn't play and a few that did but weren't booked yet. Robert Stephen Spitz's book "Barefoot in Babylon" is an excellent souce of information on Woodstock. And then there are Bill Graham's immortal words in the movie about digging a ditch and filling it with burning oil to "stop the influx of humanity" !!

Piggers and his backup band (with the "new kid") on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine issue number 101 February 3, 1972. Note Mickey's absence from the photo. If you know the story behind "He's Gone", that's why! Short version: Mickey's dad was the band's manager for a while until he split with their bread causing Mickey some embarassment, so he left for a while. He returned for the second set on the last day they played Winterland on October 20, 1974. Go watch the movie!

Poster advertising Kingfish and Friends at the famed Golden Bear in Huntington Beach, Ca in 1976. Sadly "The Bear" is no more. It was replaced in the 1990's with a "new" yuppie version. It went out of business quickly and was eventually torn down. I have a couple of bricks I salvaged along with a couple of bricks from the old Winterland, but I couldn't get them to fit in the scanner! Who wants to look at those anyway?!

This concert never happened. Rumour has it (oh those ugly rumours!) Bill Graham wanted more time for the bands. When the owners of Ontario Raceway refused, Bill cancelled. Two months later Waylon Jennings was replaced with The Band and we all know how it went down in Watkins Glen!!
