The show on December 28, 1968 was at a club in Houston called the Catacombs. Small, low-ceiling room, with an admission policy that barred anyone 21 or over. It was a teenager club, and the band played an absolutely amazing show, which consisted of almost all of Anthem of the Sun, plus Dark Star and a few others. Everyone at the show was speechless by the end. Pigpen had left during intermission with a young lady he'd met, and the band went into outer space without him. Unforgettable, and easily one of the greatest nights of music in my life.
