30 Days of Dead
It's a Dead Head's most wonderful time of the year! Welcome to another 30 days of unreleased Grateful Dead tracks from the vault, one for every day of the month, selected by archivist and producer David Lemieux. The tracks are yours, 100% free gua-ran-teed, but the real fun is taking part in the challenge for the chance to win some sweet swag from the Dead.
Those of you who know what to do, feel free to skip right on ahead. For those of you who need a refresher, here's the drill:
You know your Ables from your Bakers from your C's, but can your finely tuned ears differentiate the cosmic "comeback" tour from a spacey 70s show? Each day we'll post a song from one of the Dead's coveted shows. Will it be from that magical night at Madison Square Garden in '93 or from way back when they were just starting to warm it up at Winterland? Is that Pigpen's harmonica we hear? Brent on keys? If you think you know, lob your answer in and you just might find yourself taking home our daily prize of a 2025 Grateful Dead wall calendar or the grand prize – a copy of limited, numbered, FRIEND OF THE DEVILS: APRIL '78 boxed set!
guestimate based on brents sound. Have a grateful day!
it is interesting to see that the number of times this sequence was played while finite also was only once or twice a year.
first run got me down to 5.
using “attics” app to try syncing for now.
still very interesting to listen to changes from each year.
just sayin….info for those into more input.
happy hunting
you will know when u have it synced up right
.... Speedy but a fun listen. Back in the days of the cassette collection era you'd have these shows that you still held on to but were just approaching Chipmunk vocals territory. And hoped that a better copy would come into your hands down the road a piece. A bit north of the key of G right from the get go - caught my ears right away. Other night down the road on a nearby date has a wild combination that still surprises me in the segue.
ooh and a nice sized list to go thru makes it a proper search day
anyone having trouble getting relisten or archive to play the show.
had to use alternate means yesterday and had no way to sync which i like to do just to be sure.
Dave narrows it down to 15 years, lol.
Many, many possibilities.
Just gotta poke around I guess.
Maybe I'll just listen to the whole thing first which I seldom do. Usually save the full listen until after I enter. Nice lively start!
Cheers
