    Mix
Listened to KFOG replay and the mix had Trey so out front I couldn't hear the rest of the band. Could just be the radio replay, but I wanna hear Phil, Bobby and the rest of the band. Can't wait to see it at the movie theater on Friday (and maybe Saturday and Sunday)

Fare Thee Well Grateful Dead, Pt. 2
Watch 'em knock 'em dead in Chicago. I must've gone to at least 100 shows. The first one was in 1966 in the Golden Gate Park Panhandle, or the Furthur Fesival at San Francisco State College, whichever was first. I actually felt like Phil was addressing me personally when he made his speech at the end and thanked everyone for coming out, because I tried to get tickets to as many Phil Lesh and Friends at Terrapin Crossroads shows as I could. He came up to me there and let me say, "Hi," which rock stars don't have to do. However I couldn't afford to follow Bobby around like I used to, and he always lets me know, which is flattering that he invited me. He sang a song about losing money, which is true. He sang some other songs which might have been directed at me, and I instinctively responded by singing along. Then, at the beginning of the last song, "Fare Thee Well, My Honey", "Brokedown Palace", I thought he was like, he wanted me to sing along, so I did, and then he ended it abruptly, got in line with their arms on their shoulders, did their bow, and it was over, but I'm planning to see the live stream of all 3 Chicago shows at Terrapin Crossroads. When I went to UCI in 1987, my dad gave me $100,000/year, an apartment in grad student housing, a car, and a bunch of credit cards on his account. They tracked me into the Information and Computer Science major. Then he came down and took some of the credit cards back, and my sister took all 6 of my Irvine Meadows Grateful Dead tickets. Like William Burroughs wrote, "When did they ever give anything that they didn't take back if they could, and they always could!" and he went to Harvard. I went out and bought 6 more, at the inflated price of $50, for $300, and canceled the aftershow party at my apartmnent I'd posted on the Well. Because of losing the credit cards, I got a bad grade and had to go to CSUB. Laurie Senit moved in, and life was pretty good. We lived across from the campus in an apartment complex with 4 swimming pools and 4 jacuzzis, the 2nd best in town. My parents bought me a brand-new Toyota Tercel. Then my mom said, "We're going to send the two of you to Hawaii. Pick out a hotel from this brochure." I picked the Big Island because I'd been to Maui, and the Kona Hilton because the Dead liked Hiltons. In nearby Paradise Cove the scuba boat captain claimed he was on a first-name basis with Jerry. When Jerry died the Rolling Stone article said his house was in Kona, which I didn't know, and gave the name of his dive shop. I called information and the dive shop, they said it was across the street from the Kona Hilton, and Jerry probably did used to go scuba diving at Paradise Cove. They were showing videos of him scuba diving tonight. That's why I wanted to do it, but I had to do it straight, not being a rock star. I proposed to Laurie on the beach in Kona. We stopped at my parents' house in San Francisco on our way home. My dad, James Abrahamson, had 3 restaurants, Pam Pam East on Geary and Taylor, Rosebud's English Pub next door, and Biff's Coffee Shop on 28th and Broadway in Oakland, and he sold institutional furniture, commission contract sales, for Thonet and American Chair Co., and later Serta Mattress, in the Merchandise Mart on 10th and Market. My mother, Lucille Abrahamson, was elected to the San Francisco School Board twice, two years as President, worked in Mayor Dianne Feinstein's Office of Childcare, and was appointed S.F. Human Rights Commissioner by Mayor Frank Jordan, the former Police Chief. I told them we were engaged and my Dad said, "Don't marry her, I can't afford it. We sold the restaurants to Mama's, they went bankrupt, didn't pay, we went to court, the judge fined me $160,000, and they wanted me to declare bankruptcy." My little brother said later it was his half-partner, Bill Munro, the manager's fault. He abused the help, especially the head cook, who really ran the place, the union went on strike, won so many benefits they had to go out of business and sell it. Munro had cooked the books, the judge saw it, and hence the fine. My dad said it was because I had spent too much money on Grateful Dead concerts, but I don't think that was correct, although I may have spent too much money. They wanted me to go to this psychiatrist in Bakersfield, Dr. Perelli-Minetti, who was a nice man. He said the Grateful Dead was OK. He was always telling me expensive restaurants to which to take Laurie, like where he took his wife, and encouraged me to spend lots of money on her, buy expensive dresses, jewelry, etc, so I thought it was OK. He gave me Risperdal when it first came out, in 1994. We didn't really go to that many Grateful Dead concerts. My dad didn't like the Grateful Dead and Bill Graham for other reasons. When I first got back from the New Mexico Hog Farm after Woodstock, I tried to turn him on, he thought about it for a minute and decided no, he was afraid to get busted, he was too square to get on the bus. Later he said that Bill Graham had applied to join their Jewish men's club, the Concordia-Argonaut, on Van Ness and Geary, and that he was going to vote against him. Not only was he a hippie, and made his money that way, but he was an orphan, an immigrant, and a Holocaust survivor. What it really was is that Graham was more successful than him in the role of Jewish businessman. My brother moved to Mill Valley, said he saw Graham's house and was impressed. Graham made more money than all of them, and he started as a hippie, and that filled squares like my dad with jealousy, anger, envy, and rage. My dad said, "I wish the Grateful Dead were dead," in his outrageous way. When Bill Graham's helicopter crashed on the way home from the Concord Pavilion and they had his funeral in my dad's temple, Temple Emanu-el, my dad said, "I hope it didn't hurt the helicopter!" He even hated them during the Haight-Ashbury and helped the City Fathers drive them out of town. My family was spending a lot of money at first, and I thought they were encouraging me to emulate them. When he first gave me the $100,000/year, the credit cards on his account, and sent me to UCI, my dad was acting like he could afford for me to buy anything I saw that I wanted. Then he told not to buy anything over $200, and I complied. They were all spending lots of money. He had 2 new BMW"s and a new Mercedes-Benz. He and my mom went on a temple tour of Eastern Europe and stayed in the King David Hotel in Jerusalem, she said it was a five-star hotel. My sister went to Yale after me, in Art, then got a Masters in Art Education at Stanford, an Ed.D. at Harvard, a J.D. at Cal, got a job in the White House as Assistant Chief-of-Staff to Vice-President H.W. Bush in the Ronald Reagan White House and then Founding Chairman of the Barbara Bush Campaign For Family Literacy (me at UCI) in the President H.W. Bush White House. There's a photo of her and Vice-President H.W. Bush having an audience with Pope John Paul in Sweden, and she is shaking hands with the Pope. That dress must have cost something, not to mention the travel. In her closet I saw hundreds of French gowns, and more shoes than Imelda Marcos. She met this guy from the Council of Foreign Relations in Washington, D.C., a USC Professor of International Relations, Jonathan Aronson. He went to Harvard and Stanford in Political Science, and his father was a rich St. Louis banker. They bought a mansion in Bel-Air near the Reagans', put in an Italian marble bathtub, baby grand piano, swimming pool, his self-portrait in the living room, pirates' table, Persian rug, and he drove a Jaguar S3. He said, "We're going to Paris for 2 weeks," "I'm going to Thailand to speak," and they had their son's Bar Mitzvah in Bali, so they didn't hold back on the spending. They took the whole family, including me, to the Club Med in Ixtapa, but they went bankrupt because I spent too much money on Grateful Dead concerts! My brother spent $2000 of my dad's money for a Rolex watch to keep up with the other Oshos and flew back and forth to India every few weeks for years. They flew me there, to Europe twice, and to Hawaii twice. I guess my dad was having problems, and he asked me to spend less money, but he didn't really communicate that I should spend less money because he was having financial problems. I was spending too much money on Laurie. So I ignored him. So he took away some credit cards, and I kept spending at the same level. I couldn't comprehend that commission contract sales is an up-and-down business. Then two new credit cards, each with a $5000 limit, came in the mail. I should have sent them back, but I couldn't resist the temptation. Soon I realized that I couldn't let my dad find out about them, because he would take them away, too. I set out to get revenge on him for taking away my credit cards by charging even *more* money. The first thing I did was take Laurie to the most expensive restaurant in Los Angeles, Spago's, $140 for salmon for two. Then the 2nd most expensive, Palms in West Hollywood. Then dresses, jewelry, and when we went to Hawaii we did the same thing with the recreation. Maybe *that's* what drove my dad into near-bankruptcy, not the Grateful Dead concerts. We really didn't go to that many. I just spent a lot of money on her. She just liked to go to movies, comedy clubs, country-western dance halls, miniature golf, roller skating, she was always thinking of something. They cut my allowance from $100,000/year to $40,000/year, my sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Jonathan, became "trustees of your trust fund", keep the Blue Cross PPO. They took away all 12 of my credit cards and defaulted on them, leaving me in debt to the credit card companies for $15,000, with bad credit to this day, since 1993. They raised it up to $60,000 and I moved to New Mexico, near the Castagnas who used to live at the Hog Farm. Alberto asked me to call my mother, father, sister, and brother-in-law and ask each of them for $10,000 for a liver transplant for his Hepatitis C because his job as Director of Taos County Ambulances, working his way up from paramedic and EMT, didn't have good insurance. They said no. Maybe that's what set 'em off. They asked me to go to a psychiatrist, who dismissed me. Then Laurie wanted me to come back to Los Angeles and move in to her apartment. They wanted me to find another psychiatrist. I found psychedelic therapist Dr. Robert Newport online at the Island Group in Santa Cruz, referred by Bruce Eisner, but my sister fought with him and he lost his license for prescribing medications, including Risperdal, without seeing the patients. I called him and he said, "Did your sister let up on you yet? I'm not a psychiatrist any more, I'm a painter." So they took me to Dr. Lisa Fine, who also gave me Risperdal, which gave me diabetes. Laurie got it too, from Seroquel. They found the diabetes when a cardiolgist wanted to do an emergency heart surgery,an angiogram and an angioplasty. My brother drove my sister-in-law's Ford Escort to L.A. from Sedona. They said they were going to give it to me. He showed it to me and said, "This is your car." They said they were going to give it to me after the surgeries, but they changed their mind and never did. My car had totally broken down at a job interview in Irvine just a few days before my appointment with the cardiologist, who decided I was going to have emergency heart surgery. When I recovered I stopped by at some friends from the Cubensis shows and they talked me into starting going to shows again, to the Phil Lesh and Friends show and the Ratdog show at the Wiltern, and the Ratdog show at the House of Blues. I'd told Richie on the phone I'd stopped going to shows when Jerry died and he'd said, "I did too." They had a picture of them with the 4 original members in an airport on the way to a concert called The Dead. After that, this psychologist Eric Asa-Dorian from the Life Adjustment Team, probably a drug rehab, they said her mother called, shows up in our living room, posing as a Deadhead, except with more, better tickets than me. Then they got me to go to LAT and I never knew it was a drug rehab, it was disguised as marriage counseling or something. In the end they took the $60,000/year except for meds, medical bills, Anthem Blue Cross PPO, SSI, and put me in Brentwood Manor board-and-care home for two years, I think illegally, before I had learned how to treat the diabetes, so it had developed another complication besides the heart disease, metabolic syndrome, diabetic neuropathy, or diabetic nerve pain, or "burning feet". When they moved me out of Laurie's apartment 12 years ago with the Comcast that was the last time they let me have cable, except for a brief period. No police, no arrest, no charges, no hearing, no trial, no sentence, no jail, no prison, no due process. No evidence or proof that *I* ever did anything wrong, as far as I'm concerned, frames and smears I've never heard, let alone allowed to answer. I said I'd sue all of them for $2 billion for attempted murder, elder financial abuse, false imprisonment, psychiatric torture, medical malpractice, emotional anguish, pain and suffering, and my attorney, Bruce Margolin, who'd been Timothy Leary's attorney (I went to a fundraiser they had at Timothy Leary's house in Beverly Hills when he was running for State Senator), said, "Where'd you get the $2 billion?" so $200 million is more in the range, I think. I had to get a job selling Sprint phones B2B to small businesses in the South, work my way out of there and get some financial aid from Cal State East Bay. I'd been a junior Computer Science major at Cal State Northridge when I was living with Laurie before the surgeries. And Tina Kimmel, a Cal Ph.D. in Social Work I met at the New Mexico Hog Farm after Woodstock got my sister to give me a $68,000 annuity that my dad left me, so that was pretty good, so I got to go to Monterey and Camp Winnarainbow, and they're paying for a lot of things now. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. I'm still a senior Computer Science major and pre-law. Afterwards Alberto died, I called Richie from the board-and-care, he called my sister, I called him back, and he had terminal liver cancer. Alberto flew out and carved his tombstone, and he picked out wood for Tinker to make his coffin, but my sister wouldn't give me $100 to visit him at Camp Winnarainbow before he died. Steve had died of hep C. Then Hunter Thompson committed suicide. When I was going to the LAT psychiatrist to whom they forced me to go, I emailed Cap'n Skypilot to post something I could show him on his office computer, and he wrote a story about a man whose parents he said were responsible for the death of Ken Kesey and the assassination of JFK. When I got up here Vince Welnick committed suicide. I ran into Lou Todd, then he got sick and died, and then Tinker, who I once saw drive the Furthur bus. Charlene said her landlady wouldn't rent her house anymore, she moved in with her daughter; her other daughter got accused of murder, and she didn't do it. Laurie's elementary schoolteacher friend's apartment caught on fire and they blamed her. My Deadhead lawyer friend said his SUV caught on fire. I can't figure out the reason for all this. I would be interested if anybody, especially with legal knowhow, had any helpful advice. I'm thinking of appealing to my Yale classmates, to see if any of them are big-time lawyers yet, and I don't think any Democratic politicians have seen it, since most of them don't have email addresses. They were telling people I was dying, but the doctors said my numbers were good, so you can't die from controlled diabetes, maybe it was just wish-fulfillment. And Jerry famously died of a diabetic heart attack in a drug rehab, maybe someone got ideas. While I was in Brentwood the lawyer sent me a copy of the trust instrument where my parents had initialed that when my mom dies, the inheritance, which it originally says was divided into thirds between me, my brother, and sister, they rubbed me out and divided it in half between my brother and sister. She'll get my mom's house worth about $2 million, and she has a $4.3 million house in Bel-Air, and a house in Telluride, and my dad bought my brother a house in Sedona. I was living in Laurie's apartment. My brother will get my dad's commercial property in Oakland, a tire and party store. And there's some money they'll divide in half. Remember, when in Chicago Mickey Finn's Saloon. St. Patrick's Day or a respite from the July summer heat. Just be careful of getting knocked out, and I'm not talking about a Donny brook.

There is 1 bassist I wouldn't mind stepping in for Phil (obviously not replacing), if he's still alive (don't know and didn't bother to look it up) is... Rob Wasserman. He's got a lot of history with Bob and they put on quite a show together as a duo... I would accept this for SF (if Philless) PHIL-LESS ha ha.... ;-)

Like Sam3b mentioned, it looks like secondary market prices are holding steady. Maybe a small drop over the last week but not much. Even though I've never traveled to shows empty-handed, I decided to go ahead and keep my flight and just go to Chicago without tickets (unless, of course, I find the proverbial miracle). It will be fun to see old friends and I lived there in first and second grade, so if nothing else, I can just be a touron and soak in the ambiance of a cool city temporarily lensed in psychedelia. Maybe see something on a screen. Hopefully, I'll get to meet up with some of the folks from here as well. Gotta put a face to the Klang, and others, for sure! I still think prices will come down in June--probably just a question of how much. Anyone have any suggestions of neighborhoods to stay other than downtown? I've been told to stay away from Midway airport area. Evanston area looks pretty good but it might be a bit far out from the action.

That would be really tough to justify going - apart from the fact that, well the left coast in the summer is pretty awesome anyhoo...but if Phil isn't showing up that will make the decision that much tougher. Also considering there is no way in hell that GDTS will be able to do a mail order for it - the time frame is way too short considering how the Chicago shows were inundated...and this is an even shorter period. So TM with a possible presale for Dead.net or (wishing) DP or Almanac subscribers... Like Klangstone, so holding out for Chicago...hope and a prayer, and maybe the occasional whippit...:)

Hey now BobLoblaw - that's a great post you just did - like really great. And to your point, there's a bunch of peeps here who we're getting to know. Shit, now we even have nicknames, right "Klang?" The Klangster. The Klang-man. Okay....enough of that. So regarding a get-together and a meeting place, Grant Park, I am sure will be quite the scene during the entire weekend. I read here that Shapiro may set-up some sort of simulcast there even. But somehow we need to make all these technologies work for us to set-up a meet-up somehow. I don't do FB or any social media but I trust deadheads and email so maybe someone can get their thinker working and come up with a plan. Like you, BobLoblaw, I have my air and hotel booked Thursday through Monday - but I still need a pair for Sunday night. I stuck out on all tickets so for those wondering how I got Fri & Sat tickets, my buddy scored on the mail order (2 tix/show) and is giving me his Fri night pair for me and my daughter-in-law; my buddy is taking me on Sat night, and my wife and I will go on Sunday - miracle providing :-)

So this just in... I bid on a pair of Sun night tix on eBay; sect 212 - primo Bears PSL seats. I bid the most I could afford but below their ridiculous asking price. Then I just received the following e-mail from the eBay seller: WOULD YOU BE INTERESTED IN HELPING ME SELL MY GRATEFUL DEAD TICKETS AND MAKE A PERCENTAGE OF YOUR SALES??? Can you f'ing believe that one? I promptly replied that is clearly against the spirit of the Dead and that deadheads don't ripoff deadheads - no, I won't help you. Hold out folks - chinks in the armor are showing !!

tfonts, I think we can put something together and we've got a few months to work it out. I have a Facebook account but don't really use it much, so at best I'd be able to join something someone else sets up. Maybe we could put together an e-mail list of people interested in meeting up and pass the e-mail addresses through PM to keep it private. That eBay story is pretty crazy. I'll admit that I hadn't been following ticket sales on eBay until I discovered you could filter them by "sold" so I've been checking in once a day or so. It seems pretty sketchy, with a lot of tickets where you wonder if someone really paid that much (i.e., CID sale). I noticed a lot of bidders and purchasers don't have any eBay history, so I wonder if ultimately you'd be asked to not only rip-off your fellow Deadheads but artificially bid up auctions to get people to think there is demand at high prices. At least this whole thing has been educational, if not maddening, and more chapters to the story shall be written.

Klan and clowns...does it get any scarier? This has gone off the rails and the poor guy is at work and unable to defend himself... I will add my name to the list of people meeting up (as long as someone can provide me with even one ticket to justify my trip to Chicago!) After that I will beg, borrow or sell coffee to get access to the rest! As for TFonts and the Ebay guy, that is too much..."I won't sell to you, but if you hold someone down while I rape them, I'll let you have a piece of the action..." glad to see that these people were given tickets first. :?

Hear, Hear Klangstone! I am with you, if there is no Phil, then it is def not the Grateful Dead or whatever this was supposed to be! I can't wrap my head around the idea that the other members would even consider going ahead without him. It will taint what this was supposed to be about!! It was the Philster [w/ Bobby on board eventually] who has driven the bus Furthur, he is the one who has kept the wheel turning! Phil brought the old school songs back, he made the dream [once envisioned by all members of the GD] of creating a gathering place [Terrapin Xroads] in Cali; come to fruition! I know it's hard for people to be shut-out of Chicago, but even if they did a tour, not every head is going to see the band. Obviously, this "thing" that was created in 1965 continues to live and grow, and it will continue well beyond the lifetimes of the band members! It saddens me to see where this has gotten, everyone keeps saying "Jerry would be rolling over in his grave [even tho he was cremated] at what has become of the scalpers, the assumed greed of the band, etc!! Well, I will tell you one thing I know to be true, Jerry would be sad and weep at the thought of how the so-called deadicated heads were acting, like big F**king whiners! Look inside bothers and sisters, it is what it is man!

That's a good maybe you got, Klang. I hope it works out for you and everyone else. I look forward to meeting some of you kind dead.net folks I've been chatting with over the years. My wife and I are keeping our hotel for Saturday and Sunday nights and biding our time. More and more auctions are ending without a sale on ebay. The scalpers know that prices have nowhere to go but down, and they know that once tickets start getting mailed out from the coast, folks are going to have extras. If the extras show up online, prices come down; if not, prices on the lot will be face value, near face, or even less than face. I know it's 2015 and this is the toughest ticket ever, but if they sold 60,000 seats per night plus several thousand GA field, there's gonna be a lot of tickets available that are in the hands of Heads just looking for a fair trade. This ain't nobody's first rodeo......Deadheads have been burning scalpers and making the most of every venue since Nixon was in office. Peace.

Any baseball fans out here? My planned crew of four has dropped to to 2, which has left me with pairs of extra tickets for my other life passion. Fri Cubs/Marlins and Sat/Sun White Sox/Orioles. All day games. if you are interested in a game before the show let me know, rather sit next to some of us than put them up on stub hub. - And if you happen to have any extras for Fri or Sat... REALLY would love to have you sitting next to me.

Now Tom understands the true spirit of the Grateful Dead and how the scene works. It is what it is [yes, you do adapt], until laws are passed and regulations are set down, scalpers are always going to be a plague! There is less than 5% of the total tix sold for Chicago being scalped, realize that there is a huge Deadhead community out there and these shows were in high demand!! The whole year is the 50th Anniversary Celebration. There are numerous events and factions of the band playing those songs of our own!

I have to congratulate you now! I no longer believing in jinxing, you'll get your tickets and think many others will too, miracles are already happening and its early. Cozmiccharlie, think it was you at Leftover last weekend? Love Leftover, was bummed that show sold out so quickly. It has been fun to watch them evolve over the years. There are many bands out there that inspire the same community and loving vibe as the Dead. The Dead being the foundation for the whole scene. I'm looking forward to String Cheese at Red Rocks and hope any that haven't caught them yet, get to a show and feel the love! Thoughts of future shows are what are helping me get by without tickets to Chicago yet. That and the GD50 Limbo facebook group. Peace, Love and Grooving to all!

It's not bad here @deadnet with the whining and not understanding that less than the average amount of tickets are in the hands of ticket brokers, but it has been deafening in other forums, on fakebook, and responses to "news" articles. It's like for many people it's their first time purchasing tickets, dealing with TM, etc. Anyway, I thought I'd give you heads up that it's been covered. It's been so over the top that gratefuldean.com has a hysterical blog posted just a few days ago mocking many of the complaints, rumors, etc. I suggest you check it out. It cracked me up. Yeah, Tom Hanlon, has it right. Adapt and see what you can see. No one has mentioned it, but Dark Star Orchestra plays a lot of gigs and has a wonderful festival at the old Buckeye Lake. If I couldn't see Bobby or Phil, they'd be my first choice. You couldn't pay me to listen to WSP though. There are even more ways to celebrate. I'm going to try to promote an event in my town on Saturday December 4th; the first show as the Grateful Dead and the exact 50th. I'm thinking of renting a "hall" that can cater beer, and projecting Sunshine Daydream followed by The Grateful Dead Movie. I'm not going to profit, but sell just enough tickets to pay for the hall rental. A big open space to dance to the dead. yada yada Adapt. Celebrate. And, yes people, stop acting like you know what Jerry would say.

I think the entire "rumor" about Cali shows by the unknown festival promoter was just a ploy to bring attention to his festival or website. Of coures, if Phil isn't there it isn't even in the same league as FTW. Also, weren't the FTW crew supposed to rehearse a couple weeks prior with the whole group. I doubt Trey is going to sign on for another weekend as Phish has a tour following FTW. It all sounds like bullocks to me. They said this was the final shows for the core four. Sure, they may end up on stage together for a few songs at MPP, but I believe this is it. Maybe the four will show up unannounced at the Jerry tribute in McClaren(?) Park or some other event, but this is it. Maybe a few songs a Lockn'.

That is a beautiful idea to create an event to celebrate the 50th!! Now, that is inspiration folks. It is kinder here, that is why I even bother to comment here! It's not healthy to get into some of those convos, takes away from what this is all about. Glad to hear the positive is drowning out the NOISE! In some ways we need to embrace the times, the plans for webcasts, streams, etc is a great way to reach-out to those brothers and sisters who can't get inside!! I've been doing a lot of couch touring lately. I'm tapped out with expenses for Chicago and Jerryweather, so I couldn't make it to Phil's Birthday last night. Thx to nugs.tv I was there!

I have been lurking in the shadows for the last 4 or 5 weeks, might have noticed me listed on the Online User list. I have read every post during that time. Particularly fond of those from Klankstone, rgergelis, BobLoblaw, properledji, tfonts, seeing red, geomeister, Svengali, Spencergp68, among others. I really hope you all find your tickets and have a great get together in Chitown. What became of old tt, up and vanished. Like a lot of folks on here, I got completely shut out on getting tickets and have been hunting like a fiend for tickets every since. Looking high and Looking low. The prices on StubHub are totally outrageous. Most of us are refusing to buy from them at the current prices. I noticed some people were working hard to keep track of the secondary ticket sales. The most valuable information that can be gleaned from StubHub is that on the tickets that are actually sold, not what they are listed for. If anyone is unfamiliar with StubHub, and would like to learn how to access this information just PM me. I would be more than happy to hook you up to this information.

Ugh, I had couple paragraph comment was lost in the matrix for some reason. Paraphrase... Thanks, Big :) yada yada About my event idea, and I'm moving to a new town. Might be a great way to meet new people and give back in a new community. Yes, you're correct it's best to ignore the negative comments on the interweb. However, it's tough when you have so much love and respect for the music and remaining members. Thanks Jim Miller. I'll pm you about the stubhub info.

I hope this is just more people trying to ride the GD celebration wave, but here is a clown stating not only SC but New York shows as well. It also alludes to no Phil and no Trey. If this shit goes down without Phil, it's obviously about the money and I'll have to eat some opinions. http://showbams.com/2015/03/14/why-not-phil-lesh-or-trey-anastasio-for-…

"So what changed? The only obvious change is the swapping of Anastasio for Kimock. Does Lesh have a personal problem with Kimock, who has performed with Phil & Friends in the past?" That seems a lot weird. I am not quite getting all excited about the prospect of having one closer to home until it is announced. And even then, not thinking about the rumours of who would perform and who wouldn't. I'll wait till the cards are on the table...but yeah if it is without Phil (I don't care if Trey or not, according to Hitler, that guy is a pill head :) ) that would be a lot strange...

As we call it at our office, why the face? I agree with proper lady jedi that it would just be strange without Phil. Not sure I would try to go even though I'm close to the left coast. Well, on second thought I liked listening to Mike Gordon at the Move Me Brightly celebration. I got the impression from Bobby's words that the friction is between some of the four. I think he said something like they needed to put aside their disagreements to commemorate the 50th. Maybe Phil is just committed to three shows and done.

Yeah - there were some comments by the band (was it on Dead.net?) earlier this year where Bobby made that statement. Perhaps there was a bit more to the break up of Furthur then we know? We all know that Bob had his problems last summer...I kind of figured that it was Billy since he seemed to be in semi-retirement doing cruise ships and such...he was the only one I wasn't seeing tours for, but now he is on the road...who knows. A lot of speculation at this point. I WOULD use my Jedi powers to solve this, but I am still working on remotely convincing people to sell Klangstone and I a ticket to Chicago!

How can I be elected mayor if not running for the position? FLATTERED AS HELL THOUGH (Couldn't imagine I would end up having a fan base of my own.) That one made me LMFAO big time. You guys are the best! But remember, I am just an ordinary average guy that also hopes that its hard when I pick up the dog doo. Woof woof All this talk of a meeting for us in Chicago for the ticketed and ticketless forum members who are on the same level sounds intriguing as hell. Almost makes me book my flight right now! It's hard though for me coming from west coast. I will be like a fish out of water, traveling by myself to a strange land. But then again meeting some of you kind folks sounds like it would be worthwhile even without, dare I say ...uh ...wait... here it comes... ahh shit! I can't even say the T word anymore (let alone type it)... Tempted really tempted. Oh I forgot. My hairdresser, lets call her Cassie (not her real name) has a friend/co-worker who knows someone who has a son who can't go but has tickets. Hmmm, doesn't sound familiar at all does it? So I have a friend who knows someone who has a son who might have tickets that he may or may not want to sell at either face or not face value. So I got that goin' for me. Huh? Yeah? Can anyone else say that, HUH???? ..that's what I thought... (insert chuckle here) :) :-) ;-]

Who in the hell is Steven Wandrey? This guy obviously doesn't know anything about what's going on. Phil IS THE REASON he will not play any more Grateful Dead shows anywhere. I think he has made it clear on numerous occasions he is not up to it, for whatever reason. I'm sure it has absolutely nothing to do with being 75 frikkin years old! Don't believe everything you read on the internet folks, and I wouldn't give this guy any credence at all.

I don't know who he is, but I'm sure I don't like him. What was it he said? Where did he say what it is that he said? I just got to find find out!!!!

I found the link I missed earlier. I found out who Steven Wandrey is and what it was he said. And I know just where he said it. Now, I just need to know why he said it. That way I can make up my mind about the other thing I said. Until I do, I'm still not sure if I like him. Enough has been said. Unless you read the 29 comments. Where did all those rumors come from? Now, I may have to go through this same process with all those people.

Okay, now that everyone's Irish today, good morning to all !! Reflection: I have to say, there's a bad-ass kinship developing here and a way cool brother and sisterhood. Thanks all !!! I still need tickets but for me, this board has gone from a place to vent frustrations, to information sharing, to dare I say, a camaraderie with a bunch of folks all with one thing in common....the love of the Dead. Now that's pretty f***ing cool. Closest parallel I can personally come up with is an event like Sturgis. My wife and I are avid Harley enthusiasts. We each ride our own and have been for years. We're heading back to Strugis, SD in August for the 75th anniversary of that rally and like a Dead show, all are bound by one thing - the love of two wheels and the freedom it provides. And just like a Dead show, you could be sitting next to Joey lunch box, or Joe CEO - it just doesn't matter. I love that shit !! Ticking Scalping: So, remember last night my post of someone on eBay who sent me a note asking my help to sell their outrageously priced ticket and I'd get a cut of the profit? I answered, hell no - that's completely against the spirit of the dead and deadheads don't ripoff deadheads. Well... This morning's reply from them reads: "I JUST REDUCED THE PRICE PER TICKET TO $2250" Oh really now? Well aren't you nice... It's great to see them sweat, and it's only mid-March :-) Love and peace to all the good peeps here !!

You nailed it with that post. I own two Harley's and have been to Sturgis twice. Best times I ever had was riding to Dead shows. I said that. Always tried to look for some kind of show to go see while out on a ride. The farther I could get from home the more enjoyable the ride. I've gotten more response than I anticipated about accessing the ticket information. I'm going to prepare an outline and PM it to everyone that has requested it. That way I can make sure everyone can get to it on their own time frame, and I don't drop the ball.

I'm thinking of putting together an event Multi-geocache for the Dear Jerry show, something to wander days before and after the show. Looking for some locales to show off our corner of the planet. If you've got a favoite spot and or want to help with setting it up PM me. Thanks.

He's got great tickets. I bet he is going to sell these tickets at that price and not provide any additional perks. I never cared much one way or another about the Chicago Bears, but I now I hope they go 0-16 every season for the next 10 years.

So how do we flood him with emails? I would like everyone to email him saying that we hope that no one buys the tickets from him. Personally, I would like to see him wandering around the parking lot flogging his tickets to "the most important band of the psychedelic era..." imagine that, some guy in his Brooks Brothers golf shirt and shorts wearing like a Titleist hat scared shitless by the heads begging him to sell them a ticket for a fair price! :) I really hope that he eats those tickets - and I second the opinion that I hope the Bears go 0-16 for many years to come so his time driving from IN to IL is wasted...now my anger level is rising again... Those of you like me, if we can choke these guys out, look for the dude who looks like he just came from the country club with club level tix for sale!!!
