I have put the best of the lot on cd's. (sorry no flac files this time) Also in this vine is a Brent Mydland solo from 7-10-1988. It is a very clear audience recording. Brent's volcals are kind of soft, but there is no hiss or other obnoxious noises and sounds fine turned up loud. Still, I would recommend listening to Brent's solo in head phones or a car to really appreciate it. This will be 7 cd's in all. Brent Mydland 7-10-1988 01. Love Doesn't Have To Be Pretty 02. Maybe You Know 03. Musician (Not An Easy Life) 04. Gentlemen Start Your Engines 05. I Will Take You Home 06. Devil With The Blue Dress On -> 07. Good Golly Miss Molly -> 08. Devil With The Blue Dress On Go Ahead: Brent Mydland- keyboards Billy Kreutzmann- drums Alex Ligetwood- vocals, percussion David Margen- bass Jerry Cortez- guitar My Fathers Place, Roslyn

if I recall correctly, used to sing with the Elvin Bishop band. There's an old TV special on The San Francisco Sound or some such (PBS I think) that has him singing "Winnin'" with that band, and it knocked my socks off when I saw it. This brings a grin to my face just reading the setlists!

One issue that probably affects the vocals is that the crowd was pretty rude and talked through his whole set. I was FURIOUS, as they would never behave that way when Jer was onstage (as he later was, and the Dead set from the same show, which as I recall was some bandmember and friends on the billing, was very nice). I'm sure Brent had to deal with worse crowds, but STILL. As for Go Ahead, great bar band...

to Stephen in PA. If you like Brent's vocals you will like Go Ahead, I would say he sings at least half the songs on these shows. The Graffiti Showcase, Pittsburgh, PA 10-29-1986 shows are the best, great versions of The Weight, and Shes Not There.

This just looks too interesting to pass up. Especially looking forward to the solo material and the Devil With the Blue Dress > Good Golly Miss Molly > Devil With the Blue Dress part. I'm an old Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels fan and love his version of these particular songs - so to hear Brent solo versions will be fun. 4. Ok, now to tie Mitch Ryder back to the GOGD - one of Mitch's best tracks was his rendition of CC Rider and at the Festival Express on 7/4/70 Jerry accompanies Ian and Sylvia and the Great Speckled Bird on - yep you guessed it CC Rider!
