Holy S#%*! It’s the COMPLETE Europe ’72 Box! On Over 60 Discs!

    $450.00
    Europe '72:
    The Complete Recordings

Hey now! Due to overwhelming demand, surprising even those of us with huge faith in the Europe '72 project, the entire limited edition run of 7,200 boxed sets has sold out in less than 4 days. We thank you beyond words for your support and belief in this unprecedented and wonderful release.

After lengthy discussions, we've decided we don't want to deprive anyone of this music, some of the finest the Grateful Dead ever performed. Of course, we're keeping to our promise that the boxed set and all of its accouterments will not be made available beyond these 7,200 boxed sets (and wait until you see the case in which the music is housed, the hard-bound coffee-table book, plus all of the other cool surprises we've been unearthing!). But, we're going to offer just the music, all 22 shows, more than 60 CDs, more than 70 hours of music, each show housed in its own packaging, for the same price as the boxed set, $450 including domestic shipping. Although perhaps not as cool as the boxed set, the bottom line is that the most important aspect of Europe '72: The Complete Recordings is going to be made available to all, the music.

Because you dared dream this might happen one day… Because you went down to the Gypsy Woman and offered up your first-born to try to make it happen… Because there are enough passionate Dead Heads at Rhino/GD who thought it might be cool for this to happen… It’s happening! Coming in September is a gargantuan, beautifully designed EUROPE ’72 MEGA-BOX SET containing ALL 22 SHOWS of what is arguably the greatest tour the Grateful Dead ever played, on a whopping 60+ DISCS (over 70 hours of music!). Bet you didn’t see that comin’!

Really, at this point we probably don’t need to lay on too much hype about how wonderful the music is: Chances are, if you’re even considering buying a copy of this stunning box, you already know how amazing the Dead’s tour of Europe in April and May of 1972 was. To review briefly, though, the Dead’s first tour outside of North America took them to all sorts of historic and unusual venues in England, Denmark, West Germany, France, Holland and even tiny Luxembourg. Many members of the Dead “family” came along on what was really an extended working vacation that was designed to both expose the Dead to new audiences and also reward the band for their unlikely conquest of America during the preceding two years. As a hedge against the costs of the nearly two-month trip, the Dead’s label, Warner Bros., paid for the band to lug around a 16-track recorder to capture the entire tour… and we’re glad they did!

This was a band at the top of its game, still ascending in the wake of three straight hit albums — Workingman’s Dead, American Beauty and the live Grateful Dead (“Skull & Roses”). It had been a year since the lineup had gone to its single-drummer configuration, six months since Keith Godchaux had been broken in as the group’s exceptional pianist, and this marked the first tour to feature Donna Godchaux as a member of the touring band. There was a ton on new, unreleased material that came into the repertoire in the fall of ’71 (after “Skull & Roses” was out) and during the spring of ’72, including “Tennessee Jed,” “Jack Straw,” “Mexicali Blues,” “He’s Gone,” “Comes A Time,” “Ramble on Rose,” “One More Saturday Night,” “Black-Throated Wind,” “Looks Like Rain” and Pigpen’s “Chinatown Shuffle,” “The Stranger (Two Souls in Communion)” and “Mr. Charlie.” (Sadly, this was Pigpen’s final tour.) All those future classics were interspersed with songs from the aforementioned “hit” albums—such as “Uncle John’s Band,” “Brokedown Palace,” “Cumberland Blues,” “Casey Jones,” “Sugar Magnolia,” “Bertha,” “Not Fade Away,” et al — and then were topped off by loads of big jamming numbers — the Europe ’72 tour produced spectacular versions of “Dark Star,” “The Other One” “Playing in the Band,” “Truckin’,” “China Cat Sunflower” > “I Know You Rider,” “Good Lovin’,” “Lovelight” and even the early Pig chestnut “Caution.” And that’s leaving out a truckload of other tunes, too! There wasn’t a clunker show in the bunch, and many are acknowledged today as classics. No doubt you already have some favorites.

Through the years, there have been a few releases of material from the Europe tour—starting with the 3-album Europe ’72 which knocked our socks off in the fall of that year, and followed many years later by material from a pair of German shows and the fantastic 4-CD Stepping Out, culled from the group’s eight shows in England. Incredibly, though, only one full show from the tour has come out previously: the excellent 4/24 concert in Dusseldorf, Germany, released as Rockin’ the Rhein in 2004.

Until now, that is. Jeffrey Norman, who has been the primary mixer of Dead archival multi-track material for the past 15 years (Fillmore West ’69, Ladies and Gentlemen…, Rockin’ the Rhein, Nightfall of Diamonds, etc.) has spent many months toiling over the 16-track masters from the tour, and will continue working on the mixes through the Winter and Spring, employing the high-tech Plangent Processes transfer and restoration tools, trying to get every show to sound “just exactly perfect” (as Bob Weir says) for this release. You might think you’ve heard that intense “Dark Star” > “Sugar Mag” > “Caution” from Copenhagen, but I guarantee you’ve never heard it sound this alive! Mastering to HDCD specs is two-time Grammy-winning engineer David Glasser of Airshow Mastering. Needless to say, all the songs that turned up on previous Europe compilations will be appear in their proper show contexts, and in the case of songs from the Europe ’72 album, without overdubs that were added later (where possible).

The packaging is, as you might expect, first rate. Each show is its own Digipak, with its own liner notes by top Dead scholars (including David Gans, Steve Silberman, and Nicholas Meriwether) and attendees of some of the concerts, and many never-before-seen photos. Additionally, there is an enormous book worthy of coffee table treatment featuring hundreds more photos and a comprehensive essay by yours truly (Blair Jackson). The box will also contain other memorabilia and ephemera from the tour.

A rough sketch of the potential packaging.
Check back soon for more product images.

At $450, this clearly will not be a box for everyone. In fact, this individually numbered boxed set will be limited to orders placed with a maximum of 7,200 boxes produced. As a special bonus, the first 3,000 orders will receive a personalized copy. Due to the huge manufacturing costs (wait 'til you see it! We're doing something unlike any other boxed set release ever! It's exceptional!!), we need to hit 3,000 sales before we even go into production. If we don't reach 3,000 by April 1st, the boxed set won't be able to happen. This isn't a gun-to-your-head sales pitch. Rather, we want to be open with you about the realities of this release's massive scope and ambition.

    -->

So dig deep, raid the penny jar, take a weekend job at Jack-in-the-Box, beg your kindly ol’ grandma for some of your inheritance early… Yes, it’s an extravagance, but jeez, you (or your loved one) deserve it! This is way cool.

    Indeed, What Went Wrong?
What went right? Incompetence and greed. Deadheads provided the "name on the dotted line sure profitability", leading us to believe they were issuing Fillmore West like limited editions with all the neat stuff in packaging they usually come up with and then they made a couple of million dollars to date. Even the multi-colored symbols on the digi-paks were lame. What was the obsession with food? No originality, none. Nobody cared enough to make sure the digi-paks came off the line properly. Almost all the deadheads I talk to said this really gave Dead.net/Rhino a black eye and left a bad taste in their mouth. Here is the message from all involved that produced this: WE DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU, WE JUST WANT THE MONEY!

"Hooray for malarkey. Now you can stop walking around the parking lot with your finger in the air. Go grab yourself a kind-veggie-szechuan-burrito and a Sierra Nevada from the lot and then head into the show!! :~] For those of you saying you can't wait until September, don't forget to enjoy the days you have now." This post is working for me on a whole lotta levels LOL. And the good thing about the long wait is it gives plenty of time for things to get straightened out. Hey kidz: a wise man mentioned a page or two (or ummmm, maybe seven) ago about the awesome power of making a small donation to the Rex Foundation. I mean, seriously, as long as you're just dicking around on the internet what can it hurt? LOL it's a cheap buzz and it's easy: www.rexfoundation.org...and that "Jerry Jams Rex" is a pretty sweet deal, I have a buddy that saw the Widespread Panic show in Knoxville and called me up that night all "DUDE, THEY PLAYED 'CREAMPUFF WAR WHOAAAAA' ". Just the kind of thing you like to get woken up to at 2 AM - I wouldn't have answered the phone except I thought he needed bail money. So: Donate. CD available to ease your "waiting for the box set jones" (and DOWNLOAD OPTIONS AVAILABLE), and I bid you goodnight ;) Don't forget to enjoy the days you have now, and Peace, Helena (fighting off the urge to go out for some Sierra Nevadas LMAO)

My name is John Quinan, and this is my first post here. Hi! A couple years ago I tried to do the account/password thing for this chat room and also for the store, that didn't work at all (password problems, etc.), and after this Europe '72 situation and my wanting to get involved here I decided to try to reset/obtain a password that works. And so far it's looking like this might happen. :) Anyhow over about the last 7 - 8 days I've read a couple-hundred Europe '72 posts, and I'd like to now briefly chime in my perspective and my situation. - I submitted my name/email on the 20th to RESERVE 1-copy, and I have still not received an email. - On the 23rd I called-in to ask what's up, I said how I submitted a reservation on the 20th, I was then asked on the phone for my name and contact info, I was told the situation would be examined and escalated and that I would be contacted, I was not contacted over the next 48-hours, and I called again on the 25th. - On the 25th I informed them again that I had submitted for a reservation on the 20th and that unless there was a glitch in their records that their records should show that, I said how according to the comments I've read that some people have been obtaining multiple copies for profit and that some people had reserved AFTER the 20th and succeeded, and that I hoped someone at Dead.net or Rhino would find my reservation from the 20th and then respond to me accordingly. - I was told it doesn't look like my reservation worked, I was given Dr. Rhino's email address, and I was told to now try to reserve the CDs-only set if I want that and to email Dr. Rhino about my situation (and I was provided with Dr. Rhino's email address). - I emailed Dr. Rhino, it has now been about 5-days with no response, I also submitted a reservation on the 25th for the CDs-only set and there has been no response to that either, and I'm pretty bummed about all of this. Because there are apparently only 7200 box sets I'm not regarding myself as deserving one more than someone else because of who I am, but as I wrote -- based upon my noticing that some people have confirmed multiple copies for profit and some people have been able to get a reservation even though I submitted a reservation 1 or 2 days before them -- I believe I do deserve to get one. On that note, if there is a cool person out there who has an extra and would like to provide the reservation code to me I welcome you to please contact me directly at jquinan@yahoo.com . If that doesn't happen with my being lucky that way, though, I understand. But whoever reads this can understand how I finally decided it was worth a try. And I welcome emails from anyone anyhow if you'd like to say hi. :) And not that this makes any difference, but, even though I haven't posted here before, fyi I used to read/post regularly on rec.music.gdead from '90 - '95 (and there were even a couple dozen members of that group who showed up at my apartment in Manhattan for a party one night during the run of MSG-shows in '92 (I think it was '92). So with my still hoping to get a box set for me and my wife and it looking as though the door was mistakenly shut on me even though I attempted to correctly proceed on the 20th the way I was directed, if by chance someone with an extra code is considering providing me with one I would be happy to discuss this a bit further (and I have a couple aces up my sleeve as well that I'd be glad to share with such a person). Thank you. Now lets see if this darn thing will post! :) :) :) John (JQ)

Hi again. I just reread my posting (I'm so glad it finally worked!), and I see how I was saying my last call to Dead.net was 5-days ago on the 25th. It's now the early morning of the 29th, so OOOPS on that number-of-days and whichever other typos exist in my first post here! :) Thanks. Cheers, JQ (jquinan@yahoo.com)

I really don't know what has happened to Grateful Dead and the way in which the band chooses to thank the fans who have been with them for forty years and more. I refer to the limiteed edition run of the Europe '72 set. I have always bought new Grateful Dead albums over the years. I even own original vinyl copies of the albums that I bought back in the 1960s. My collection was complete. I've now missed out on the 7200 copies of the box set and in its place I am offered a reduced product, minus the box, the book and whatever else comes with it. For this 'privilege' I am expected to pay the same money. When this box set was first mentioned on the website, you stated that you needed to receive a certain number of orders to make the release viable. There are obviously more people wanting the full box set so why limit it? At $450 you are not going to lose on extending the production run. I wonder how many of the 7200 copies will turn up on eBay shortly after despatch ... and what sort of price they will command. The spirit of Grateful Dead died with Jerry. Now it's no more than Grateful Bank. ($3.3 million in three days!) I just hope that the new box set and other releases turn up on the Internet ... Unless you put this one right I'm not going to be buying anymore now that my complete set has been broken.

has anyone started a facebook page to petition for extra box sets to be made? it may be a good way to gauge just how many of us are on the outside looking in?

Having made a reservation on Saturday afternoon UK time (Saturday morning US time, I guess), and then posting here on Monday in the absence of a confirmation e-mail, I finally received my reservation code for the box late on Tuesday night. Then as now I had mixed feelings: excitement on the chance of buying the box, but also reservations as to the whole process, and the thought of all those missing out, particularly having already viewed the activity on ebay.co.uk and ebay.com. I delayed making my order until first thing this morning, but only to ensure there was as little risk as possible to my transaction not going through properly (daughter not on her lap-top potentially slowing my internet connection, etc), bearing in mind the warning in the confirmatory e-mail that the code was a once-only chance!! Confirmatory e-mail of my order received straight away, so I suppose its ordered and all I need to do now is wait until September. Nevertheless, I still have mixed feelings, as I've said, and just feel more could have done to advantage those 'users' of the website, who in the absence of checking the website every day, and like me, may not have found out about the release until the mailing on Saturday (two days after it was detailed here, and seemingly after Rolling Stone readers had already been appraised). I order every new release, but only do so having received an e-mail from the site, and it was pure fortune I looked at my e-mails when I did. Others who buy every release have undoubtedly missed out! Even having snagged a box, what remains galling is that people have either reserved one or multiple copies specifically for onward sale. When I last looked at e-bay.co.uk, there was one for sale on 'Buy It Now' at £1500.00, whilst on e-bay.com, a number were for sale, including one of the first 3000, where the bidder was being asked to provide his/her personalised details for use in the package! Not surprisingly I guess, these sellers were in the main also selling other short supply items, presumably again purchased specifically for onward sale at a higher price, eg, concert tickets. I know it would be impossible to stop all multiple purchases, but surely it could be made slightly more difficult, where clearly a purchaser's intention is as above, Anyway, that's my final 'two-penneth worth' on this matter. All I can do now is look forward to September I guess.

There are 11 Dark Stars on this tour! I cannot comprehend how awesome this will be! I will definitely enjoy the 20+ cds I have from this tour until its release! I am so bummed that GD/Rhino messed up the e-mails. Like the proverbial dragon eating its tail. Warner Bros. and stadium shows created a beast even the members seem not to be able to rein in. I digress, I was lucky enough to see almost 40 shows and appreciate every memory. Jerry lives!

It's good to see that Greed America is still alive and well. In reserving my own copy of what is sure to be something of the best from a band who always proclaimed the music is for the people I find the box sets are sold out after 4 days. But wait - you can still get the whole sheebang from Greed Merchants on Ebay for $1100.00. Here's hoping the folks at Dead.net make the whole box set (with extras) available to those of us who truly love the band (and what they've always stood for) beyond the 7200 chosen few - some of whom are in it for the scalp. What would Jerry do?

I can certainly understand many people being upset by this limited release and not having the chance to order in time, but this is the business end of the music. The free end is in the bootlegs that the Dead have always tolerated. Think of artists today or even their peers at the time who would just as soon take you to court for copyright infringment then to let their community develope a public record of a concert.Marketing can be tough, especially when great music that people care for is on the line, but nothing is stopping someone trying to trade for the boots. Cleaning up the music is an expense that needs to be compensated for. Whether you get the box now or pay for another version later the music will someday be available for purchase in time. Whenever I missed something I would wait for the next or pick up a dicks picks and then something else would come by. I was able to get up to date messages on the box through buying the subscription, facebook, and just checking this site on a regular basis. I was unable to initially order but kept checking and then got through- all the while I wasn't thinking what a travesty or this is a blow to humanity- I actually got a rush and it made it a cool quest. Keep hope and save up and I am sure they will split it up (book included) in the future if the demand is there or you organize a bunch of fellow heads and rhino sees that it can be lucractive. I'm still kicking myself for not having some of the past bonus cds, but hey something else will come along... I went to see the captain, strangest I could find...

I called CS and they said that the email was sent out by mistake and my order is in the system and good to go. Just thought I'd post this incase anybody got the same email after recieveing a conformation and didn't want to sit on hold for 20 min. Now the question is who is not gonna read this whole post and try to use "XXXXXXX" as a purchase code?

The VP from Rhino said, last week on Tales from the Golden Road, that they are not going to make more than 7200 sets. This was at the height of the fallout from the E72 announcement, and right after someone called in a ripped him for the whole process. So, you can start a petition, you can get on here and post at will, you can even claim to be looking at legal action (I need to keep this in mind for when I can't get tickets to a sold out show), it's not going to change anything. No one that wants one is any more/less deserving than those who will be getting one. It's really no different than trying to score tickets for say, Furthur on NYE or the Allmans at the Beacon, it's just the way it goes sometimes. The Ebay crap sucks, no doubt. But those people are just selling codes, not actual boxes. They are easy to defeat. Ride it out for the next few days, and make them put their money where their mouth is. These unused codes will start funneling back to those on the standby list. No matter if 7500 or 15,000 were produced, they were sure to end up on Ebay, no matter what. It's the world we live in. Heck, look on amazon and see how much people are trying to sell still in production Road Trips for. You still have a chance to get the most important piece of the box, and the reason we are all here, the music. You still may get a box out of it to boot, once all of the codes get sorted out. I listened to 5/11/72 again last night. Wow! Sometimes you just forget how sick this run really was.

"You still have a chance to get the most important piece of the box, and the reason we are all here, the music. You still may get a box out of it to boot, once all of the codes get sorted out." I hope that is true in my case. I still have not heard from Dead.net about my order at all, and I have been trying since the 19th. That includes reserving the music only version under 2 different email addresses. It is beyond frustrating not knowing where you stand after 10 days.

I thought it was a little silly to tie in the amount of box sets released with the year. (1972/7200) Like they needed any more amunition to sell this sucker... Thinking its about time someone at Dead.Net or Rhino get on this thread and do some damage control ASAP, with a huge public apology first off. Also please add some more servers or whatever so your website functions correctly. I placed my order on Wednesday and was not allowed access to log in. When I tried a few hours later I recieved a message saying the code has already been used. Still waiting...

at 7.50cents each for 60 disc how is that a bad deal? i love the limited edition sets. I dig the bonus disc with Road Trips series also. I like checking in on Deadnet and seeing whats new. if i miss something such as a bonus disc i might have to search a bit for a piece of music but thats cool with me. my sets are some of my most prized posessions. in the end its there music they can do as they see fit. and 450.00 for music only is still a good deal-

Fret not about getting a code to purchase. The Rhino VP said that they would not start working on the music only stuff until all of the codes were either used/expired. If these codes expire on 2/5, I would not expect to see an ordering email until after that. Maybe a little sooner, but with the waiting list for boxes, don't be surprised if you don't see anything next week. DS1971, I 100% agree. The music only is still a pretty darn good deal. Cosmicbadger, great idea on donating to the Rex Foundation. I just did mine. Let's keep that going and throw a happy surprise at the people who run the foundation!

Jerry could play the hell out of a Fender Stratocaster. And Bobbys playing was superb. well hell they all were superb. cant leave out Pig, Phil, Bill, Keith and Donna.

Well, I've placed my order for a road trips subscription - which is what I logged on to do last Sunday until I found out about the box set and I've recorded my email for the music only 72 set despite strong feelings that Rhino should have increased the production run and/or discounted the music only version. However, I was clearly wrong when I thought that all deadheads who'd already got the box set would support a petition to increase the production run. I would still like to be in with a chance of a box set but I was too late to even get on the waiting list. If anyone has a spare code and can email me at johnw.christian@virginmedia.com I'll be grateful:-) Otherwise I'll hope that some free up or look to buy it at an inflated price from a reseller after September. Meanwhile I'll fire up some of those 1972 shows - particulary Wembley and The Lyceum and bring back a few happy memories. John Christian johnw.christian@virginmedia.com

PLEASE send me a PM with any details you've got, and in particular your email address, and I can at least find out whether it is or is not in the system so if it is you can act on it and if it isn't you can get on the music-only list and/or be on the lookout for somebody's extra.

most banks will not charge your card per se, but they WILL put a hold on the funds for several days, which means if you do not have the funds available on the card, it won't go through. Please plan accordingly. If this has happened to you, please send me a PM so we can reset your code after you've loaded up the card with funds. Thanks.

so send me a PM with your email address and your reserve code so we can see what's going on and, if it turns out that there's an issue with funds on the card, reset the code when you've got that resolved. Don't post it here in public though! Thanks! (I'm the forum moderator.)

Based on a couple of email response I received from David Lemieux this morning, it appears that even the “Music Only” version is going to be only available for purchase until April 1 or so: “I know the music only version is available to April 1, but beyond that I have no idea. I've heard no discussions one way or the other… Music only version will be available to April 1, although we're seeing about extending that a bit, perhaps a few weeks”. I hope that Dead.net / Rhino seriously considers adding the "Music Only" version to the standard Grateful Dead catalog, similar to the Winterland '73 and '77 box sets. Especially since this release is so historical - "unprecedented and wonderful".

Received this same email this morning and just got off the phone with CS. My question to them was were Rhino/Dead.Net going to re-issue my code number to someone else ? And would it work ? Was told the email was a era, and my order was also good to go. ~~~~~~~ "Grateful Dead Europe 72 Friendly Reminder" On January 29th, 2011 Utmost said: "Hey now! Assuming that the box set remains limited, perhpaps they should consider a website dedicated to the Europe '72 Release where the extras ( to the extent they can be) are offered in the virtual world. This would at least give access to some of the materials and would be a nice tribute to the band and the tour They could leave the site open or limit it with a user login to purchasers. Thanks...

I placed the order; just last saturday I found out, placed an e-mail 'reserve' request. got a link to a "personalization' page; cs said they could not de-code the code, to tell me if it was box set or music only; oh well. I had the fillmore 69 set, but once they were re-selling for like $500 I caved! Don't know if that will happen here; this is something we have all dreamed about happening at one time or another I am sure! As for Rhino; their Handmade line is/was great, and they did limited runs there, but now a lot of that is purchaseable via download, so what's with the 'limited' aspect? sounds like B.S. All concerned have mis-handled this in one way or another. The Rhino big wig on the XM radio show last Sunday made me laugh with his 'we can't make more due to legal reasons' smack. Hopefully this endeavor will give the members a one time payday for their kids, grandkids, and anyone else they choose to go to college (esp Phil's ;-) Have really enjoyed (?) reading this thread; let's all keep it going until September! By then is should be..."got mine!" "haven't got mine yet!" etc.........

Pink Floyd didn't limit Dark Side, and it stayed on the charts for 741 weeks. That's from 1973 to 1988. That's because it was selling copies all of that time. WHY LIMIT E72 to ending this April??

Perhaps I'm just being cynical (wouldn't be the first time), but I think David Lemeaux' comments about him only being sure that the music only option will go until April 1 is perhaps a bit disingenuous. Since Day 1, TPTB have been pulling out all the hype/marketing/ stops: 1) need for 3,000 orders to get project green lighted, 2) first 3,000 are personalized, 3) total numbered boxes limited to 7200, 4) as soon as (3) was hit, "Wow, we're blown away. To make fans happy (rather than to increase revenue), we will produce a music only set." As soon as the original release didn't say anything like, "This music will never be sold again" (paraphrasing from FW box), you knew that #4, the non-numbered set would appear. And you can bet your bottom dollar that smaller size sets than 60+ will be offered once TPTB are "blown away" by the demand for the 1st 3,000, the next 4,200 and the unlimited music only sales. While they may wait to get a waiting list of some size before doing another production run of the music only box, they ARE going to continue selling this music until people stop buying it. And they should. I just think their panic-inducing "you better get 'em while they're hot" insinuations are a bit over the top.

From "ST. DILBERT AND THE PLUMBER" by Robert Hunter

My boat was finally washed to shore after drifting for several days, and I was delirious from exposure and lack of food or water. I was discovered by a wandering tribe of Bozos who later told me that I had been heard to repeat 'On the left hand it goes North and on the right hand South' continually while they nursed me back to health which took some weeks. When I returned to my senses, I found all the Bozos of the tribe wandering about repeating 'On the left hand it goes North and on the right hand South' over and over and looking rather blissful. Anxious not to mislead them (for at the time I didn't know this was an impossibility) I immediately informed them that 'in between it may go straight down'. No sooner had the words left my mouth than they all prostrated themselves before me, desiring me to become their king. Refusing this post, they immediately elected me a saint and began pressing me for teachings, which would elucidate the notion, which they found so marvelous and accepted the true story as an elaborately cloaked metaphor, of which judgment nothing would dissuade them.

Europe 72 was indeed rock's greatest tour. However over the years of rock n roll there were other great tours. Not necessarily Grateful Dead but great indeed. They include: The Beatles US Tour (1965) Rolling Stones US Tour (1972) Bob Dylan/The Band Tour (1974) Crosby Stills, Nash & Young (1974) Bob Dylan Rolling Thunder Revue (1975) Paul McCartney Wings Over America (1976) Pink Floyd The Wall Tour (1980)

First of all I received notification of this set the same morning that it sold out. According to the article it sold out in 4 days. Thanks for the prompt notice. Secondly, I know its been said that the production run is 7200, but if enough people are interested at $450 than you should just make more. And that is just plain greedy charging $450 for just the music. Thirdly, there should have been a strict limit of one per customer. there are already 9 people selling there copy for $899-$1500 on ebay. You should find out who these people are and cancel their orders and let the people who really want the box set as a keepsake buy it. On the whole pretty lame.
