Before I posted this, I went to the Vindex, and this is what I found: Eurovine #2: no activity since 12/2008. Early '78 6-pack: no activity since 03/2010. 'Stache rides 1978: no activity since 8/2009. Funicului Funicula vine: no activity since 10/2009 (with a request for a re-seed) Popmo's 1978 Vine: no activity since 10/2009 Enter the Matrix: no activity since 10/2009. mixed Bag GD: no activity since 4/2009 The following vines are Still Alive: * 'Stache's Fav's from early '78 * (originally I thought this was dead, but it's not) Three from 82, and a '78 too Omaha/Red Rocks '78 vine Huntington, WV '78 Cleveland Rocks v.2 Originally I had intended NOT to include any shows that were on vines that are still alivefor a couple reasons: 1). I didn't want to squash out anyone's vine, and 2). I didn't want the people holding these vines to get stuck with them if i was responsible for making them extinct. Well, I see that I did screw up ... I included shows that are on 'Staches Fav's from early '78 on the 1978 Lossless vine pt.1. For that, I apolagize to dstache, and whoever is holding the seeds to his vine. The seeds to 1978 v.1 had all ready gone out, so I'm not sure what I can do about that. I also see that there are a bunch of shows on the 1978 v.2 seeds that are part of 'Staches Fav's from early '78. I can re-burn the seeds leaving these shows off. I will leave it up to dstache, marye and JakeR. I guess for now, pt.2 is on hold until I hear from them Sorry if I upset anyone. Peace, Chris

Well a lot of this has been vined before. Some of the vines are not dead they just don't have anyone signed up. Just sayin'... "It's got no signs or dividing line and very few rules to guide"

I believe that on the original vine 2/3 and 2/5 only included the tracks that were NOT on DP # 18. I always forget whether it was 2/3 or 2/5, but that Scarlet/Fire is one of my 3 favorite ones, along with 1/31/78, played only days earlier, and the officially released 10/14/83.

Here's a bunch more shows from dead Dead vines.I omitted 4/10/78 and 4/16/78 because they are included on vines that are still alive and well (ie: three from '82 and a '78 too, and Huntington WV '78 vine respectivly) Also 2/3/78 and 2/5/78 were omitted because they are availible on DP 18. Thanks to Ltapilot for sending me this stuff. There is some overlap with 3 old vines, “Early stuff” Vols 1, 2, and 3. But I think those vines have crossed over the river to rest under the shade of the trees. There appears to be an upgrade (no noise reduction) version of 3/18 here. It sounds better than the version I had. The highlights are: 5/5, 10/22, 11/10, and 11/11. Hey now! As you all know Dstache compiled a list of shows from the 1990's recommended by the Compendium. 1992 part 1 will consist of 2 shows from March and the May shows, including the killer Las Vegas run. As mentioned in the Meta-topic, there are still some March shows that would be nice to be vined if someone has them, and 5/21 is on the Cal Expo '92 Vine. Some pretty good sources to boot, info below: gd-92-03-09.sbd.braverman.9755.sbeok.shnf gd-92-03-20.mtx.seamons.ht28.95208.flac16 gd-92-05-24.sbd.miller.92272.sbeok.flac16 gd-92-05-29.sbd.hinko.35295.sbeok.shnf gd-92-05-30.sbd.tetzeli.76082.sbeok.flac16 gd-92-05-31.sbd.miller.92388.sbeok.flac16 I am also going to include a couple of the Chinese New Year's shows in Oakland. Even though these are not regarded as some of the best of '92, these are special for a couple of reasons. One is that I was at them =) =) and they will always remain in the forefront of my GD memories: from the road trip out to Oakland to buying fake tickets in the lot from the thugs to finally getting inside the Coliseum and hearing ... which leads to reason #2. 2/22 and 2/24 mark the first 2 performances of So Many Roads. I tell ya, when Jerry sings that song it is hard to hold back the tears. Unfortunately **so sorry Phil, still love ya man** it is also the first 2 performances of Wave to the Wind. =) I have a miller sbd of set 2 from 2/23 I'll include if I can squeeze it on one of the dvds. For that show I was the only one of our group to get in and I sat at the very top of the coliseum thinking the set list was about as good as it gets. gd-92-02-22.sbd.walker.scotton.miller.96395.sbeok.flac16 gd-92-02-23.s2.sbd.walker.scotton.miller.96396.sbeok.flac16 gd-92-02-24.sbd.walker.scotton.miller.96397.sbeok.flac16 "It's got no signs or dividing line and very few rules to guide"

I owe a HUGE APOLOGY to everyone here. Things have taken a sudden downswing and I am barely treading for what I have been dealt, just when I thought things were on the up and up. The vines I have I WILL MOVE ON, but any further please move me down. I love all the tasty bits being introduced, (LUCINDA, Dec. '72, ect, ect) But just not able- will check in, just not as often......Just please bear with me here.....Best wishes to all of you-Matt P.S.- Message me, I will get back, and I give you my word, I will not walk away with ANY VINES.....May just take a spell to get them out....Be Well All, Please Be Well....

The Grateful Dead, Philly '87 Vine Greetings Gang! This month is my 24th anniversary as a Dead-Head! Two Dozen Years! Wow how time flies! Yes ... I know the exact date that my life was changed forever. 3/31/1987. Not my first Dead show, but the first one where I heard them in a whole new way! The show was broadcast on WMMR in Philly, which is included in this vine (in the best source availible IMHO). There's also a bonus disc for "MMR fans. All six shows from the Philadelphia Spectrum in 1987. 2 DVD's in FLAC format. ENJOY!
