a couple of belated shout-outs to two wonderful musicians who made my world just that little bit brighter. Euclid James 'Motorhead' Sherwood - May 8, 1942 – December 25, 2011 member of Frank Zappa's original Mothers; automobile tinkerer, voice effecter and saxophonic blurter. shook a mean tambourine too. sadly missed. lastly, the magnificent Sam Rivers - September 25, 1923 – December 26, 2011 mighty jazz musician and composer; how i would've loved to be present at the Studio Rivbea loft in those free jazz blowout days. sadly missed.

sorry Oroboros, have only just checked this topic.may i offer my sincere condolences to you and your family and friends. i really understand when you say a better conclusion than the alternative of living and suffering. my Dad felt the same way towards the end of his life from terminal cancer; i remember him quietly and gently saying to my mum one day, that he'd had enough and just couldn't deal with the pain anymore. it is indeed preferable to such terrible discomfort. they are both now free to explore the Universe and have reached peace. a new fantastical journey begins... take care and always feel free to PM me if you want to talk or ramble or reminisce. "Remember the clear light, the pure clear white light from which everything in the universe comes, to which everything in the universe returns".

Thanks all for the kind words/messages,

but know that any sadness also is accompanied by 'welcome tears' as this conclusion is a much preferred alternative to how Sue was 'living'. While a tragic ending, Sue's life was grand one and filled with joy, family, and many efforts to bring fairness and justice to individuals and our social fabric. And now to her well deserved rest........take care, sister, take care and thanks for lessons learned.

of Jesus on His Birthday! Today is the 25th of December in the 2011th day of Our Lord. To be Sure. (EST) 2011 AD or 2011 After Death (of Jesus) (What a horrrible death. See here.) Yes-----> the year is 2011 AD Some people keep track of these things. We just finished having birthday cake for Jesus and it was delicious! I made it super special with lot's of love, xo! A song for All of Us! Hearing Jerry do this tune with JGB was God send. Child-like and Grandparent reflection though out the song! Now, if I can remember where we were. My sister in law Sue finished her 'long goodbye' tonight.

10 years of gradual decline with MS presenting like Alzheimer's disease. The last several immobile in a bed with little brain activity. Now she is free. "She sang a while and then flew off.. .....don't cry now, don't you cry,... dry your eyes, on the wind..."

Even though my brother died in 1999 I still miss him

My older brother Bill died in 1999 from Lukemia at the age of 56. Thanks to Bill he would "arrainged" for me to babysit.so I could go and see the greatful dead. My dad was a strick trip{Yes I loved him}but he expected us to be in the house by 9:30 at the age of 17.My brother had three adorable kids, he would call my dad and tell him.that he and his wife was going out and they needed me to babysit. I woudl then go to the concert and then go home the next morning when Bill picked me up at the bus station in Atlantic City then drive me home. Rest in peace Bill. I miss you still.

I just found out our old friend Kevin Dougherty passed away back in 2009 In Eugene... We had many colorful experiences together. Fun in SF! Great shows. Had families. Did our things. My wife's & my last show was at Autzen, hanging with Kevin & Jane & our kids. I am finding that getting old is hard because of the people that you lose... I love you Bro...

A sad day, just does not seem to be the way Bear should have gone. A survivor, in many ways ahead of his times, both technologically and perhaps psychologically. While his pharmacological roles were certainly important, there was far more to the man. R.I.P.

In search of old dead head Winddancer..

Hello there, I am searching for my birthfather with little to go on.. I was conceived in Eugene oregon in the summer of 79. My father went by the name winddancer and traveled up and down the west coast. He met my mother Devorah and they were only together for a short while. I do not have a birthname, except perhaps he also went by the name of Jonathan? He frequented Santa cruz,ca, not sure where he is origionally from.. Thought i would post here. The circle back then was a bit tighter, not sure what it is like now.. Any leads, any info of this invisible man in my life will be gratefully appreciated! Bluesman and a founding member of the original Steve Miller Band. He was the creator of Pacific Northwest Blues in the Schools. Passed after a long battle with cancer May 16th, 66 years of age. memorial show will be held at Blues Vespers Sunday, June 5th at Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Tacoma, Washington. Jerry Miller (Moby Grape), Jay Mabin and other local blues musicians to play. Blues Vespers is always free but donations are always accepted and will be donated to Blues in the Schools.
