    Got ideas for how things should be run differently in the Vineyard? Improvements? Suggestions? Brainstorms? Truckloads of fertilizer? Post here.,On the floor at MSG... one perfect song after another...and we were beyond elated with disbelief and gratitude. This was truely a fantasy set list and, in my opinion, the best of my 8 show run.

    I still need to work on a list . sometimes I can`t beleive I`v been vinning and downloading for a solid 2 + years and still don`t have a complete list . I`m such a slacker ! What is an easy way to make a list ? I got 3 HD`s (almost 3 TB) worth of music not to mention all the vines on DVD . sheesh thats a lot and I can`t stop downloading !! LOL *** Clean***Sober***Proud***

    I've been busy and a bit out of touch with the vine community. I mostly DL from various sites and trade with a few of the folks here. If anyone is interested, I am happy to share my excel list and I'd be willing to help fill gaps for those in need. PM me if anyone is interested. B & P is also another way we could go.     Thank you very much. I am going to go ahead and vine 3 Oct '89 shows (10/19, 10/25 and 10/26) that I got from you. I'm feeling your generousity and will include both SHN/FLAC and WAV files. The latter was vined previously, but the vine died young, and not too many got to enjoy it. Thanks for everything Raymond!

    If you guys want a project to work on...I certainly would not complain if you found, downloaded and vined the following: From '90: 2/26, 2/27, 3/14, 5/5, 6/9, 6/10, 6/24, 7/4, 7/8, 7/10 and 7/14 (7/8 might be from the Download Series, can't find it on the site here though) From '89: 7/2, 7/9, 7/10, 7/12, 7/13, 7/15 and 10/18. I have the rest of 89 pretty much from June onward, and could vine some of that (thanks RMB!) if folks want. 10/25 and 10/26 especially are noteworthy, as are the July Alpine Valley shows (though one or more of them may have been vined already, I seem to recall a video at the very least). Thanks downloaders, other seeders and regular old viners for what you do!

    Wow. I had made a friend with a head last year. His name is Paul. He recently contacted me and sent me 6 1995 soundboards. Thanks Paul! I will probably vine these in a few weeks after I have time to go through them. Some of these may have been vined by deadtaper. I will check. None of this is in flac format. Sorry. Just audio CDR.     I need to check out some new sites I guess. I tried philzone but didn't find the "vines". I've been d/l like crazy too, we should try to coordinate that and trade. I have a spreadsheet too I could send out and we could work together. I just enjoy getting shows in the mail - it's like being a kid again - waiting for the mailman..     I too have slowed down here....significantly..... but I am DL'ing like a fool.... After a good start here 13 months ago.... I have multiplied my personal catologue significantly over the last few months.... primarily at Workingman's and LL..... If interested.... PM me for a list.... I keep everything I have up to date on an excel spreadsheet.... and I will be more than happy to copy and share.... single shows or multiple.... let me know.     I also vine at deadhook and philzone. We are FAR more active here though. I got a bunch of stuff from philzone that I have turned around here. I don't know if it has been less active here lately because of the big vines we have done. I do know that we have vined over 1/3 of the catalogue, including most of 68, all of the first half of 69, most of 70, most of 71, most of 72, all of 73, most of 74, all of 77, and a good chunk of 79. In other words, the best years have been vined, at least in this viner's opinion. '82 is a good year, I like Fall '83 a lot, and '89 and '90 are really good, but for the remaining years it can really be hit or miss. I think it would be good for someone to do for the other years what I did for '79 and make some "best of xxxx" vines. Someone who has almost everything from '87 say, could do 3 vines of 4 shows each (on both SHN/FLAC and WAV) of what they deem the best 12 shows from the year. Actually, I'm not sure there are 12 shows from '87 that deserve to be called the best (haha, boo, hiss!). That being said, once I catch up in a month or 2, I'll be back and signing up for Hippy's '90's vines and for that big 81 JGB.

as posted, the vindex is missing CB's latest update. The search box is turning up no results for a lot of things. I use that to track down vines (easier than thumbing through all the listings and pages). Also my 1969 Lossless Part 5 thread is unable to be found. I posted a lil over a week ago if there was no movement on that then I would reseed it. I guess I'll let things settle for little while longer and hope it all works out. Btw I copied CB's vindex and have it saved as a txt file if anyone needs that since he may be busy to repost it.

I suppose an update is needed already due to the massive amount of new vines that have been started since summer (including a nearly complete 1982 year and a nice healthy dose of 1976)

The bicentennial grateful dead vine won't allow me to post. I received it yday. I've been working like crazy lately (11pm last night) but will be able to start ripping it tomorrow. Will update, hopefully on the thread, when it is ready to go.

Now the Vindex is getting so huge and seems to have been eliminated from this site, I am planning a new way of sharing it, which is intended to be easier for me, easier for folks to scan and analyse and that will not clog up the site. I am posting a link to a place where you can read a simple spreadsheet online with the VIndex on it. It includes a whole lot more useful info too, including a list of all the shows the GD ever played and dates of all official releases. The link is here. we are having some site weirdness, which I've reported to Darren. Strangely enough, the Vindex is perfectly visible in the editor, but everything I've tried to make it visible in real life has failed. Including posting it as a new comment. We're working on this, but in the meantime, it is a good thing that another solution exists. Sorry for the trouble.

I did not mean to suggest that these two vines are physically lost 1969 Lossless Part 5 Bi-Centennial Grateful Dead Vine it's just that the pages that feature them here have disappeared (at least that was the case yesterday) . All part of the weirdness being investigated by MaryE.

Maybe I'm slow ... I don't know, but maybe there are others who don't know this: If you PM'd someone and you're not sure if they've read your message yet, go to your "sent" folder. If they haven't opened your message yet, the word "new" will appear in red in the subject line (just like when you go to your inbox and you have new messages). Kida like getting a read receipt. OK, maybe this doesn't seem like a big deal, BUT it does tell you if someone is no longer active in the Vineyard, which could stop vines from dying. For example: there is someone who hasn't opened ANY of my messages since February. If he follows me on the list, I know not to send him the vine. Make sense? New to the 21st century, Chris

I'm posting my thoughts regarding each show in the respective threads (go to "Shows & Lyrics" on the left, just under "Features") if anyone is interested. I've listened to the first 3 nights, grading 4/7 & 4/8 as 8.5 out of 10 overall, and 4/11 as 9 out of 10. I'm not a musician so my musical vocabulary is pretty limited, though as you all know I've listened to my fair share of Dead shows.

and actually arriving on people's doorsteps, I have retired the vines containing material from the Europe 72 tour. In some cases this is a matter of a single show and the vine could be re-seeded without the show in question. EXCEPT. I have not retired the videos for the time being. Had there been video in the box set, this would have been another story, but for the moment, there doesn't seem to be a compelling issue. Feel free to play it with the relevant CD from the box set cranked up...

In my opinion the vine should keep going. Some of us couldn't get the box set because dead.net can't figure out how to transcribe credit card and address info. Or how to save it to their database. I didn't sign up for that vine because I stupidly assumed I would be getting the box. "I won't take your life won't even take a limb just unload my shotgun and take a little skin"

the deal with tape trading (and its digital counterpart) being allowed on this site is that once something is in commercial release, it stops being traded here. The All The Music set is in commercial release and not in limited edition, therefore the Europe 72 set is off limits. I am sorry for your order hassles. I am doing what I can to help you with them. But it was not exactly a slam dunk to have tape trading allowed on this site at all, and this is a very bright line governing its being allowed. Thank you.

I have been holding up a few vines due to some crazy overtime @ work that was unexpected. They WILL be moving on by Monday. Liberty #1 and #2 Closing of the Spectrum sorry again.

that are only in the Vineyard? (for example) that seems pretty straightforward to me. What am I missing? There are a number of new capabilities, and I'm trying to figure out if some of the old ones exist at all or in somewhat different forms, but topic selection seems to be okay. Topic EXCLUSION seems to be slightly more problematical and I'm still looking into that one... Also the mysterious disappearance of New Decade, New Vines, but hey, failing all else we can always start a new one for that; I don't think we had any new vines pending because of all the upheaval anyway. And if we did, You Know Who You Are.

But I don't see where you can sort the forums into the vineyard only. The 'sort window thing' used to be on the top of the page and I don't see it anymore. I could be as sharp as a marble or just blind.
