    Gettin close to showtime folks...would love to get together with other clean and sober rats before show and share experience strength and hope. I went to the NYE Phil/Ratdog shows and my sobriety was in jeopordy for a while. Need to make sure I'm plugged in for this. I plan on getting there very early (lawn seats).     Coming out from Arizona for my first SOBER show on 5/14 and hoping to put some faces to the names I read here. Where should I look for the table and balloons - somewhere inside the venue would be my guess. Will be visiting with friends in the area, but will be on my own at the show and hoping for support!     Hi Everyone, Sounds like the shows are amazing and everyone is havin' fun doin' it sober. I live in Carlsbad, CA and was wondering if anyone from San Diego is heading up to the show on May 9th. I'm newly sober and would love to go to the show. I need to go with some wharf rats otherwise I won't be going. I'm leavin' it up to my higher power. I'm puttin' it out there and seein' what comes back.     FYIOn this site's video page, the video of Greensboro featured Big Daddy Don on the floor dancin with his crazy hat! When I met him in G'boro I didn't know who he was, but I found out at the other shows. He was a valuable asset to me at the shows and generous to my driver, gifting her some "Cats Down Under the Stars" jewelry.

    MSG SHOW... WOW!!!! I went with my 69year old Dad, My Brother in Law and a friend. We had section 401, but MIRACLED floor seats, both sets! Cosmic Charlie, U J Band, He's Gone, Gimme Shelter all SUPER DUPER!! Mid Set break Wharf Rat mtng, very nice, extra special. The meeting was so packed, "normies" in the hallway couldn't get by! Hahaha. I shared, said I was Wharfrat from SF. Very warm, good vibes. Sobriety countdown, beautifull. Confetti was thrown and my thick hair soaked it up. I think some of it remains. St. Stephen w/ confetti, in and out of my hair, like spaggetti... I will be at Shoreline both shows, Call me up, my name is Lew. As someone sober for many years to me it's as the saying goes. To thine own self be true. If it makes your life better by stopping taking the most controlling substance this worlds known I say it is up to you. If you no your doing what's rite then your doing what's rite. Because it makes you more content when you put your head on the pillow at night with a clear conscious . For me I can't take any chances with any substances at all which includes booze for that matter also.

Where is everyone meeting up for this? If nothing is setup, would anyone like to meet? I'd suggest we meet down under the pier, or by its pylons. We are Wharf Rats after all...9:30am daily? I don't see any other Barcelo Riviera Maya AA.

I had just checked in at the Wharf Rat table at the last show in Chula Vista. The guy that was sitting behind the booth said a girl had noticed the table on her way to the bar. She said I've only been sober a week! Glad you were here to remind me........ Don't know if she lasted through the show but ya never know, sometimes sobriety is measured in minutes....

I'll check back here to let you know if I win the ticket lottery. I'll need a meeting. Years ago while staying in Playa Del Carmen I was walking down a side street and found an Alano Club. It was in Spanish which I;m not towell versed but I understood what they were sayun'. Traeted me like a long lost brother.

Never saw the band. By the time I became an avid listener it was too late. Thus, not really a Wharf Rat as such... Just wanted to share that my listening to masses of Grateful Dead is a huge part of my sobriety. Wishing you all a blessed and sober day.

Now more than ever I love Wharf Rat. Each time I listen to it I learn somethung new about the song. What’s amazing about Wharf Rat is the community and deep sense of connection it has with so many people. When you are feeling low we are here for you. My favorite part- I’ll get up and fly away!

Hello Friends- Big week/weekend ahead for Bay Area and was able at last minute to pic up a tix for final show: Now the big question: Will there be any W.Rats meeting up in person prior to or during the night of music? If so how would a person in recovery meet up? Have to say watching the thinking process prior to the show: IE: stay sober no matter what, etc. Thx for reply. Best- windysuisun
