Every Friday we'll be sending you off with a Jam Of The Week, hand-picked and delivered by tape archivist David Lemieux. Listen to it on the weekend. Listen to it at work. Listen to it all day long...but make sure you tune in or you'll miss out because these little nuggets will stream for ONE WEEK ONLY!

Recites his Flibberty Jib and The Island during Drums.
I remember this from a GD Hour when it was fresh.
David Gans had portions of lots of fresh shows back then.
Love Ken's word jazz and Devout Catalyst.
Fabulous voice over guy too. I remember some Coors commercials BITD.
RIP Ken, he died in 2019 at the age of 98 I read.
Cheers

Loved listening to Word Jazz back in the day on WBEZ in Chicago. I was in the NW by the time Ken did his Flibberty Jib at the Rosemont but he took part in the public radio fund raising sketch "Oregon Trail Mix" played before Set II(?) at the Eugene 8/21/93 show. At the time listening to that over the house PA definitely added to my buzz. Search "Oregon Trail Mix" Autzen 1993 and gd vault word press has the audio at the start, though its not in the track listing. also on source 8 of 9 for show at relisten. Not only was that a fun fun show it has the GOAT Standing on the Moon.
I'll investigate further.
There's always another branch on the tree here.
Cheers
