• Hells Angels Benefit, Anderson Theater - 11/23/70
Original poster for the 11/23/70 concert at the Anderson Theater in NYC. I attended this show which opened with a pantomime guy, followed by New Riders with Jerry. I think the Dead played acoustic for a while , followed by electric set .. but no confirmation of this can be found, and I was tripping... so grain of salt. This poster is an original, not one of the reprints, which I was given by a friend in 1973. It is about 35" x 24" and seems to be silk-screened on fairly heavy stock. Enjoy

    Your Find

Hey man, nice to see a new comment about my favorite poster.
You are a lucky fellow. When you say storeroom I'm guessing at the Angels clubhouse on 3rd St after they sold it?
I have mine safely stored and someday may sell it, but not yet, not yet.
Still looking for the poster from the Angels benefit at the Academy of Music in 1972 if you come across one

There is no attribution other than the Hells Angels logo bottom right. The story is 2 HA girlfriends did the art but that is uncorroborated to my knowledge. If you review Art of Rock poster 4.222, another HA Dead show in NYC about 4 months later, there does seem to be some similarity in design .. here is a link ... http://www.deadlists.com/posters/1970s/19720325.html someday we may know ... zig

I was given 1 of the five that were found while cleaning up the storage room etc...my friend a Hells Angel prospect that was given them to raise money for the prospect. He sold two at a auction , gave my son one , my bro's daughter got one and my brother bought the last one.it's %100 original made on some thick paper.

Just checking in, looking at my poster here on the site. I need to figure out how to tag it to the concert listing for this show.

It used to be, years ago, but now it doesn't seem to be.

Mahalo,
