Tapes

Hello, I'm looking for ANY live Dead tapes, in High School I was a huge fan but sadly lost my entire tape collection in one of my moves, I am not interested in listening to Dead on CD, I need to hold these special tapes again, I would be beyond appreciative for any help. Whatever you are looking for. Thanks

Must have shows

My favorite eras are Jan-April '69, Spring and Fall '72 (but you should definitely pick up 8/27/72), Oct-Dec '73, anything from '77 (most people probably prefer the Spring but I like the Fall too) and Jan-Feb '78 (I might be alone thinking this tour of California, the one off in Oregon, and 6 shows in the Midwest is great). After that, the consistency goes down, though I still like fall '79, Fall '83, Fall '89 and Spring '90. Good luck!

I completely understand about the objectivity of 'best shows'

but thank you for your input...i do have the complete '72 recordings and love them, i have heard cornell '77 is a must have from numerous sources. I just want to start compiling some nice shows. thanks again for your feedback!

It really depends on what years you like...

You couldn't go wrong with 8/6/71 and Cornell 77. You could throw a dart at a bunch of good quality dates from 73. At least three from the Europe 72 tour. One thing I would caution though. Go for 5 star quality complete or almost complete shows. You will be more satisfied in the end. In my older age I know I hate fragments or poor-sounding quality. Just one head's opinion. If nine more answer I'm sure you'll get nine more opinions...

I have tapes

So…if you’re still interested, I have a box of 64 tapes ready to ship after culling the herd. All Dead, mostly 80’s. I’ll even pay postage, just want to see them go to a good home. Let me know, but I am not very tech savvy, (it was hard for me to even get to where I could post this), so please be patient.
