getting started

Hello all. I am wanting to get started in aquiring Dead shows, the problem is I don't have anyone to trade with. I love the Dick's Picks series and the other live releases that have come our way, but I would love to get my hands on other shows. If anyone is willing to help I would be much obliged!! Free Tapes "Part 3"

Last summer I posted "part 1" and no one locally got back to me..... Last Winter (around xmas I think) I put "part 2" on here. I got a couple folks interested my tapes. I have given away close to 400 tapes from 65-85. I still have close to 500 tapes from 91-95 if you want them and your in the Portland/Seattle area, come and get em!! Otherwise I have found that I can send flat rate boxes with 60 tapes (possibly more with out the cases) in them for under $9. If your out of the area and want them let me know!! I want to share and they are just collecting dust. - Peace Eric

Looking For JGB and Bob Weir Band Cheney WA Oct 1978

Hey all - I went to a show in Cheney WA in the middle of October 1978 - it was in a gym I believe. Bob Weir Band opened for Jerry Band (with Maria Muldaur AND Donna!). After sleeping in a fresh cut wheat field that night and making it back to Missoula, where I was living (and have been again since '94), I was so inspired I borrowed a friend's guitar and started to learn. I've been gigging since '82 and would love to hear that show, no matter the quality. Who's got it? Thanks so much, friends. Larry

The Pyramid 4/01 and or 02/1995

Hello all,I have a bad case of the 'dail-ups', Thus uploading torrents etc, is just near crazy thinking to even think about. I was wanting to make a gift of finding the April 1st and 2nd 1995 Memphis show that me and my lady friend went to all those times ago. Anybody out there have a copy of any of these 2 shows? The good memories of hanging out that weekend at the dead camp at the river banks is still fresh in my mind reading these forums the past few dayz. CD or CD-rom/DVD-r prefered. but tapes are even welcomed. I can transfer to the computer if I have to. Thanks in advance for any info! www.tuckermike.com

Hi everyone, I am a grateful dead fan, music lover, and graduate student. I am currently working through Tufts University's music department on a project reagrding Grateful Dead tapers and traders. I do not have any experience taping or trading but I am really interested and would like to start trading - especially trading cassettes. I have tapes

So…if you’re still interested, I have a box of 64 tapes ready to ship after culling the herd. All Dead, mostly 80’s. I’ll even pay postage, just want to see them go to a good home. Let me know, but I am not very tech savvy, (it was hard for me to even get to where I could post this), so please be patient.

Vintage Tape Decks need a good home

Long time taper here thru the 70s and 80s. I have several tape decks that could use a good home. Nakamichi 1000 and a Tandberg TCD330 that need work. Also a Teac 2300SD Reel to Reel that works fine but could prob use a little tune up. before putting on ebay or FB, wanted to put it our to our community. Anyone out there that knows how to repair or tune up? I am in New Jersey.

Looking for Tapes

Hello there,

I am new to the dead.net forum and am struggling with the private message function - I keep getting an Access Denied error.

I would be interested in any tapes that someone may be looking to re-home and would be more than happy to pay any costs to ship them to me.

I’m a “new” dead head (born in 1990 so I have no choice but to be I suppose). I grew up on American Beauty and Workingmans, picked up guitar in the 90s with heavy GD influence on songs, and got to see Dead & Co at Alpine in 2016.

I have a bunch of old school music equipment both for listening and recording, and want to add some tapes to my collection. Getting harder now it feels like as everything GD is mainstream again (post Sphere even more so?) I snagged a box of reel to reel live recordings for $40 back in 2020; not sure you could find a single reel for that on the internet now.

Im just looking to have these for my collection and experience the music as it’s been experienced over the years without overpaying someone who is just out to make money off something.

Anyhow, appreciate your time, and if anyone happens to have any tapes around still, I’d be honored to add them to my collection.
