Hey now!New to the site. Kind souls connect with me!

I'm 44 and was blessed to start seeing The Grateful Dead when I was just 12! Rich Stadium in Buffalo. Hit mostly all the East Coast shows until 96' and then our lives changed for sure. Went to Penn State University and I am a social worker. My son is almost through high school and then I'm looking for adventure! I am not sure where what or with whom? Auroraville, Peace Corp, meet the man who rocks my world??

I just signed up here and wanted to tell you my story with the Grateful Dead. I am 56 and consider myself a pretty sophisticated listener of rock music, but I admit I never really listened to a lot of the Grateful Dead. Recently I got hold of a lot of their catalog and am loving it. I do prefer the early albums, they sound unrehearsed, off the cuff and simplistically produced, but it gives them so much charm. The albums in the late 70's seem over produced to me... too slick and missing the raw charm. I now know why these guys were so revered in concert. I just listened to Dead Set and was stunned at how good it, and they are live. Astounding really. So far ahead of so many bands. The heartfelt vocals are so damn good. Truly an eye opening experience for me. I took me too long to get here. All the best.

I wanted to post this in the Websites sub-forum but that one seems to be locked down. I tried to log in to deadnetcentral.com today for the first time in about a year and it looks like the site is down. I guess that was inevitable but does anyone know when it happened? thanx.

RIP Jer, miss you man...

Duppy, from what I can tell, DNC is indeed gone, but many of its residents have a FB group and I think there is a restoration effort in progress.

My love and condolences to all of us out there as Phil passed on yesterday. Heartbreaking and sad.
So many memories of Boxes of Rain and roaring applause for the shy bassist. Good times.
