    Copying Tapers Section
Ok, so I am new to all of this and no matter how I try, I cannot copy the files properly. I right click in tapers section and copy to my desktop. It does not offer me to download. Once copied to desktop I think its as an html, I cannot do anything with it. I have iTunes on my computer if that makes any difference... I look forward to the assistance because in my world marriage and 2 boys has been one long strange trip and at times I just need to get back to the good ole grateful dead.

    I always liked Memorex, hmm.
Never had a problem with Memorex CDs, must've burned like 3000 by now, and it's only recently I've started burning DVDs (this damn vine addiction, I tell ya ) so I naturally picked Memorex. Now, occasionally, I'll have an issue burning DVDs (near the end of a burn my screen will go black and I have to do a hard reboot; it's happened with two different burning programs) but I don't think it's disc related - then again, wouldn't hurt to try the hp's. Especially with Vinezilla approaching ;*D ! Always thought that Memorex guy in the chair getting his hair blown back was pretty cool, though. Maybe you just got a bad stack of discs. I did get a bad stack once, but they were obviously damaged and I got them returned/replaced. ********************************************* I have a sigfile! --> www.kindveggieburritos.com *********************************************

    These f**k'in dvds suck!
I just bought some Memorex DVD+R and the first 5 would not work. At first I thought my burnner was busted. Then my wife game me some HP dvds she had and they worked fine. I tried some in the middle of the Memorex stack and they worked too, I was just the first 5 that didnt. Has this ever happened to anyone else??

    Cassette to digital help
I have 1000+ GD show tapes with about 150 masters of either soundboard>D5 or various studio quality mics to D5 or Nak 550. I'm planning a once-in-a-lifetime transfer of these cassette tapes to digital and would like to discuss with an experienced individual issues such as analog playback, A/D hardware/conversion rates, and software. Thanks, John

Lately, I've had significant delays in successfully completing downloads from bt.etree.org. Is there a torrent tool to ease the process? I routinely clear space on my hard drive to enable storage, but the download speed is intolerably S L O W

Depending on which website you download from and what format you want to end up with, you'll need to have a computer hard drive with lotsa memory, good organizational skills to store, identify and locate the downloaded files, and a program to create the sound you want to hear. Traders download shn and flac files, converting them (thru expansion) into .cda or .wav files normally associated with conventional cd's. mp3 players utilize compressed files (.mp3). Tunes we trade in the Vineyard should never come from an mp3 file, due to the higher potential for corrupt or defective sound bytes. Do you already have software such as EZ CD Creator or Nero? I'm sure there are plenty of software choices out there. In order to expand the shn or flac files, visit www.phillesh.net, which has a good reference page on it's Download page, for downloading, converting and recording cd's. Also check www.eTree.org So many roads to ease my soul...Ease my soul!!

I don't think it's possible to download direct to CD-R
I think you have to download to your hard drive and then burn the CD. But I'm going to defer to the more knowledgeable on that one.

Hey folks, I have been looking to buy a new microphone or two to record live shows as well as my band rehearsals. I've look at the Rode NT 4 as a stereo mic and think it looks like a pretty decent mic. Just wondering what people are recording with, Mics, recorders, video recorders, etc.? Thanks Zel

Have you tried osmosis?

-edit- It's where you set the tape ON the computer. Then, turn on the computer and look it up on youtube.

By the way, what tapes are they? ;-)

What type digital files are you interested in, what resolution (word length and sample rate) are you looking to have files made ? I could make most formats for you, from MP3 to 24 bit/ 192 KHz or if you have an outboard DAC I can create up to 2x DSD which is 1 bit/5.6 MHz .

Hi there
I am looking for recommendations for a low cost quality recording set up. will mostly be recording a community concert band. would like to be able to use micro SD cards.

Hi there!

For a low-cost, quality setup to record a community concert band, I’d recommend looking into the Zoom H4n Pro or Tascam DR-40X portable recorders. Both offer excellent sound quality, built-in stereo mics, and support for micro SD cards. They’re compact, easy to use, and great for live recordings. Pair it with a good tripod or mic stand to position it optimally in the recording space.
