the local bar here has snails as tapas, can you imagine the poor little snail struggling to my letter box with the latest Ratdog show, then straight into a pot with some garlic for tapas. ..they have migrated from Eurotraders. And is it also an infringement of the burros' rights to get turned into sausages after trekking across Europe with packs of discs?

Hey GG - This is a little off the technical side however my preference in the car lately has been the late mid-late 80s. I could get technical and mention all the editing he has done on each individual show but you can found that info on the shows information before its downloaded. Many good sources out there. Ive found the Miller "Gems" as the last person mentioned to be the sweetest. Of course there are many other great years and sources but Mr Miller down south of me has the crispest sounding stuff. Good luck!! Eric

If they are not masters or real ow gen SBD stuff that does not Circulate do not bother.. As others have said here there are so many places to get the music weather it is Archive.org, WWW.shnflac.net or www.Jeromesplace.net.. It all circulates and unless your One of teh early traders with reall low gen stuff it si all there like 5 gens earlier than what you have... there are new transferring projects like GMB , GEMS, CM ect that are re transferring and editing all the great early gen and master recordings.. Do yourself a favor and explore the LMA (archive.org or one of the torrent sites I described .. You will not look back! IMINCHARGE!

Depends on what era you like. With the help of some others, I started 2 great vines (IMO), the cream filling # 1 (11/14/73-11/21/73) and the Fall '77 part 1 (9/29, 10/9, 10/11, 10/14, 10/29, 11/1) vines. You can't go wrong with the May '77 East Coast vine. There are also a couple of great Europe '72 vines. I believe at least 8 shows from that great tour are available in the vineyard. FYI, all you have to do to join the vineyard is have the capability to rip and burn cds, as well as a little cash to pay for postage, handling and cds. The way we do it is you copy the last list on the vine, paste it into a new post and sign up on the list. Then you PM the person ahead of you and give them your address, wait patiently, receive the discs, rip and burn them, and send the ORIGINAL discs to the next person. It is important to send the originals because there is some loss when you burn cds. This way, the last person on the vine gets the same sound quality as the first person. Also, you should try to use I-Tunes or some other burning software that allows you to avoid having gaps btwn songs. Windows Media Player leaves a gap btwn songs, so that Scarlet > Fire doesn't flow from one track to the next, but instead has a few second soundless gap. good luck.

Sorry Andre that the program I came across doesn't make magic. I have a son home sick from daycare today so I'm hanging around the house. When things calm down here I will look for other programs . I'm curious too. Eric

Hey folks, I have been looking to buy a new microphone or two to record live shows as well as my band rehearsals. I've look at the Rode NT 4 as a stereo mic and think it looks like a pretty decent mic. Just wondering what people are recording with, Mics, recorders, video recorders, etc.? Thanks Zel

Have you tried osmosis?

-edit- It's where you set the tape ON the computer. Then, turn on the computer and look it up on youtube.

By the way, what tapes are they? ;-)

What type digital files are you interested in, what resolution (word length and sample rate) are you looking to have files made ? I could make most formats for you, from MP3 to 24 bit/ 192 KHz or if you have an outboard DAC I can create up to 2x DSD which is 1 bit/5.6 MHz .

Hi there
I am looking for recommendations for a low cost quality recording set up. will mostly be recording a community concert band. would like to be able to use micro SD cards.

Hi there!

For a low-cost, quality setup to record a community concert band, I’d recommend looking into the Zoom H4n Pro or Tascam DR-40X portable recorders. Both offer excellent sound quality, built-in stereo mics, and support for micro SD cards. They’re compact, easy to use, and great for live recordings. Pair it with a good tripod or mic stand to position it optimally in the recording space.
