newbie to board, iso some shows!!!
Hi Guys, New to the board. I was wondering if anyone is interested in a trade or B&P? I have only about 9 dead shows thus far and I am looking to aggressively expand my dead collection. I am looking for soundboard quality shows/essential dead shows + anything with die hard versions of sugaree, loser, and/or franklin's tower. I have dl'd torrents in the past, but now being on dial up has made that difficult... so I am looking for stuff in either shn. or flac. format. If anyone can hook me up I can send out some blank dvds or what not. pls let me know. Thanks Jim

from gdhead77 for JGB Albany 2/13/80. Great show. Made the trekfrom Binghamton to Albany. Don't remember much as I was studying "Chemistry" as well, but I do remember a great Mission in the Rain. I also seem to recall something odd about the opening act, but I can't remember exactly. Anyone out there know what I am talking about? Seems like we were at a lot of the same shows, especially at Nassau and Radio City. We probably ran into each all the time. "Let there be songs to fill the air."

Anyone have full show SBD... one of the most killer dews ever. JGB: 2/13/80 Palace Theatre, Albany - night before organic chem test and lets just say I was certainly studying chem... An amazing performance and one that I have never seen circulate. I have an extensive list of SBDs so happy to trade. Thanks

Hello Andy. If your looking to get your collection going again a good place to start would be the Vine thread here in the tapers forum. All the instructions are there in the first posts. If you have any questions send me a private message. I'd also to be willing to help you out with a b&p. My list is available at the web site listed below. Rock on. Was trying to download some shows here and have been getting dropped off due to software in my host machine. Went through the troubleshooting and it still did not help. Can anyone offer some assistance? And since we are sort of on the topic of tapes, I would be willing to give away my stash of shows. Most were recorded right from a DAT so the sound is great when cranked up. Just send me a mesage and let me know what you are looking for.

I was at those 3 shows at Winterland. That was the summer of the breakout of the "Blues for Allah" tunes (album was released on 7-27-77) we got treated to all those new tunes like Fire, Estimated, Samson &, redone Dancin, Passenger, and of course Terrapin. Was on a road trip with friends and we first caught the 6-4-77 show at the LA Forum, for a preview of what was to come with that tremendous Winterland run. The shows at Winterland were in stark contrast to that huge "Fabulous Forum" (capacity 18,759) compared to Winterland's 5,400 capacity. Winterland was a real treat, small venue and a balcony that surrounded the whole place. Winterland also had a bar where there was a 'big screen' TV where they showed video of prior Winterland concerts that Bill "Uncle Bobo" Grahmn had filmed. You might go in for a dring and see a Airplane concert or Jimi Hendrix or whoever the cued up to view as you imbibed (and this was all before "Wolfgang's vault"). As I said, we were on a road trip and had sent word back to Heads back in Nebraska, about these June Winterland shows. Two friends told us to meet them at the Wharf Rat bar in SanFran at 1:30 on 6-7-77. They then hopped a freight train in Nebr. and "rode the rails" accross the plains, through the Rockies, in and out of mountain tunnels, (cool Colorado range) and then into the SanDiego trainyards. The then got in the "tube" to go unde the bay and get to SanFran. As we walked into the Wharf Rat from the side that faced the wharf, they walked into the place from a side door and we ran into one another like the 3 Stooges. Hooray!! We went up to the show and bought tickets, partied on the sidewalk until they let us in, and then were completely blown away by the band. I remember on 6-7-77 (anyone out there with 6-7/8-77 CD?), hearing Terrapin (for the second time) and then they segue into Dew. Phil dropped these bass bombs that propelled me backwards. It was like he changed the gravitational pull from horizontally down to a lateral atmoshperic 'shove' , until it felt like the breath was being pushed out of my lungs, and then I would gasp for breath again. The Dead pulled out the vista crusier repeatedly during those shows with wonders that left us slack-jawed and delights that made me laugh and cry. I recall Jerry doing some tuning from the "Close Encounters of a Third Kind" movie that had just came out that summer. Anyway, needless to say, it was a wonderful run of shows. alligator, sent you a pm.

That is the stadium where the old LA Lakers played and it was quite a huge venue (for the time, anyway). That second set was an amazing selection: Samson, Ship of Fools, Estimated>Eyes>drums>Good Lovin', and then Terrapin>Playin'>Franklin's>China Doll> NFA>Playin'. They turned this big arena into a spinning top, with the pace and dynamics, all the grandeur of Terrapin into the familarity of Playin and into the joy of Franklin's into the delicate passion of China Doll into the centrifigal force of a rockin' NFA and then segue back to Playin' reprise. As we drove back north to make those Winterland shows and stopped at one spot on the highway (101, I believe) and it was a spot that the ocean's waves were smahing into the wall that was set into the shore about 30 feet below where we had parked. The ocean's spray from the impact would loft 25 feet above us with each wave's crash and then it would rain down on us as we grinned and recounted the show we saw, and talked about what the band would be playing next. It was at that point that I heard that thundering and drumming of the ocean on that wall and thought to myself how similar it was to the other force of nature that we'd witnessed earlier that evening. And then it was off to Winterland. And then I was able to hear the whole suite of Help>Slipknot>Franklin's on 6-9-77. What a time we had! (I really had to finish the story, it had to be done.)

Im starting to see many people on here who are wanting to start a collection. I have racks of tapes that I no longer listen too and with help from folks out here and a high speed internet connection I have started to get a new collection of my favorite shows on CD (after a flood took out most of my late 80s tapes) If your in the Portland/Vancouver area and want to start your collection, I would be willing to turn you on to a rack (or two) of cassettes. Each rack is 100 tapes and I have 1965-85 and 1991-95 with 9 racks (I think) remaing. Eric PS - I would consider helping folks outside of the PDX area but it would cost A LOT to ship these so keep it in mind before PMing me...

July 16, 1990 Does anyone know where I can get a CD copy (not a download) of the July 16, 1990 show at Rich Stadium (Buffalo/Orchard Park, NY)? This was my first show. I have had the tape for years but it is sort of roached now. I was on tour from 97-2001. Since that time I have married, started college, had two children, and read Presbyterian/Reformed literature. I was wondering if anyone had access to Furthur Festival shows from 1998, 2000? DVD, video, SBD's, or aud. I do not have capabilities to do bit torrent, and there are no flac or mp3's of those concerts...and I cant think of a better christmas present. Can anyone help? I am broke, can can possibly try to send you blank DVDs or CD's. Email me if you can help direct me. Reformation28@Gmail.com

Hey all,I have only a few Gratfeul Dead shows and they are those that most probably already own, so a B and P rather than a trade is probably in order if anyone is willing to lend a hand. I'm looking to get a few, say 3-5 or more, JBG shows, the ones that are generally considered to be the prototype of what Jerry was after when he performed outside of the Grateful Dead (maybe this is impossible in 5 shows or less, nevertheless you know what i'm getting at). Shoot me an email if you could do a B and P of some kind for me. zkinard@ycp.edu Any help is heartfelt and always appreciated. Cheers, Zach zkinard@ycp.edu
