    My first show
Went in a van with some friends from Bloomsburg University(JeffBob, Rip and a girl(I think her name was Amy?). JeffBob forgot his ticket but I happened to have an extra. Traded it to him for my first ever "tabs" that he got at the show. Got separated from my friends in the parking lot and wandered around alone all day. Many people in tents would invite me in for some food and a smoke. Like a mini-Woodstock. Went into the stadium pretty early and stood there in the rain. I stood around 10 rows from the stage. This was the closest I'd ever get at a Dead show(23 by the end). I thought it was funny that Bill was wearing a Dead shirt--never saw a band member wearing their own group's shirt before. The rain finally let up during the 2nd set. After the show I found my friends and hung out by a bon fire drinking with some others that we met. I never had the same laid back, Woodstock experience at a Dead show ever again.

raining sold our tix and bribed the ferris wheelguys with beer to let us watch the show from the wheel.. they complied.... the wheel comes up with a roof over it and when they had to take us down it wne tbehind the barn overlooking the stage.. like a reeeally loud apocolypse now effect.. music just slammed us.. at one of these revolutions there was a cool Wheel tease that felt directed at us.. also danced on the corner of chocolate st and cocoa ave to some phil song.. like desolation row or thin man or sumthin.. great show,,, better stil at that pt in the tour to have some extra bread after the show.... we were the only ones with a roof over our heads...

Bobby sang Looks Like Rain in a strong rainstorm. Water everywhere. The tents were spilling rain onto the speakers. One big mudfest in the middle. Lots of people snuck in without tickets. And the longest Terrapin I've heard live. Many people (tapers) tell me I saw a historically important show.

This was my first show. Went with some good friends from Bloomsburg University and had the time of my life. First time for a lot of things. Just got the "liquid Blue" shirt for this show.Something that sticks in my mind about the time bfore the show was all the people in Hershey for the LPGA tour that was in town at the same time, and a scary moment when a large crowd stormed the gate. Watched the show from the field and enjoyed every minute of the rain filled show.

It was a dark and stormy day... well not too stormy but enough rain to cause Bill to come out on stage prior to the festivities. As the crowd cheered his appearance he made a show of looking around at the cloudy skies and finally made a gesture that suggested it was too wet for a concert that day. The moist throng voiced our disapproval of his weather forecast as he retired to the enclave backstage and a good laugh was had by all. This pic must have been made while Phil was singing Tom Thumb Blues which was quite heavy for me as I and my concert going buddy Al were both out of our minds (and bodies.) I recall a tall gentleman, right in the middle of the crowd between the stage and soundboard putting his arms around his friends and he seemed to encompass 15 people with each arm. Later during Not Fade Away I distinctly heard Mr. Weir say, “Everybody ready?” at a point during the song intro when he was NOWHERE near his mic stand. I repeated his words to myself, under my breath and the dude in front of me turned around and put his forefinger to his lips and went “Shhhhh.” This really blew my mind!!! This was also the first show at which the pre show music selection really hit home for me. For some cosmic reason Healy played The Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety and his choice provided the PERFECT “set and setting” for an incredible night of music and fun. Good Times! XOXOXOXO L/S
