    hey marye, any update for the chatrooms (temporary) maintenance program?? this works but it's not as much fun(hassle actually), i miss the inpending doom of the boot god;))) it was something for nothing with alittle xtra KICKed in, hehe.. misbehaving for naught peace tc

    thx marye, i understand the thinkin, however i know i've signed up for newletters,etc, both on this page and on the old one, guess what! nada,nothing,zero,zip.. never ever recieved one? is it because i never registered as a deadhead(freaks unite)? i really wasn't registering for anything in 72-73, if you catch my drift. i have gotten to read the newsletters thanks to "the Archives". and yes yes, i"ve seen quite an addition of members since the dead went to sirus radio, like waves n a beach...

    I think it's a fairly recent addition, and mostly for the benefit of people who don't check in here that often. Every time a newsletter goes out or there's a new release we see new people and folks we haven't seen for a while. So if you're here early and you already get plenty of email from us, probably no need to sign up for more. But if you think you might be distracted for a while, not a bad plan to sign up.

Not sure what Noel and Liam think about that. I don't exactly hate Oasis, they are not bad for a not-very-original pub band I suppose I am originally a Londoner from Peckham. I used to speak like Dick van Dyke but now sound like Prince Charles. Oh and I support Tottenham!

    all the way, baby! Ya gotta love a team that could cause the NHL to change the rules during the playoffs. When I was a kid I played goaltender.     being overly observent, i was wondering how long the "e-mail sign-up" has been on the home page,below "who online". seems to me, if i'm a member why do i not an email reminder, wouldn't such events,offers n'releases already be posted on the home page? seems redundant! i do kind of remember it on the old dead.net but am just noticing it here now isay ol'chap, owabouta spot o'tea, yes yes roll1 4me

I'll always take the book over the movie bc then you can envision the story yourself. What really gets me is when they change things for the movie. I understand for time etc... but important parts. Man, that burns me up! Not saying Hannibal is on the same scale as Cuckoo, but when they made Hannibal they totally changed the ending. ?!? Oh well, that's Hollywood for you. :-)

was actually on my assigned reading list in ninth grade English. I always thought that was pretty open-minded for a stuffy New England prep school. Conversation is always more interesting than recitation, so speak your mind and not someone else's.

hey IKYR, did you ever read the original books by frank l buam! way better than judy. there are about a dozen or so different adventures. amazing minds travel beyond where reason ends.and i agree gratefulmon, awesome movie, but most of jack's are. did u hear something???? me either! peacen'love tc

Yes, when I was very small . The main difference I remember is The Emerald City.Originally, the glasses with green lenses made the city emerald. I do love the OZ movie & Return to Oz for that matter. In Return they send Dorothy to the nut house. Ever seen The Never Ending Story? LOVE that movie. Never read the book, there's probably one out there though. I must watch Cuckoo this weekend! aren't most books better? Even sequels fall short in almost every case. Kesey's is a classic. Love the Big Indian myself. Our old school nurse WAS nurse Ratchet...a scary chick indeed. Warm and heading up to 72 degrees tomorrow in Philly! Have a good evening to all. (even JC) Ami
