Hi marye!! Of course there was NOT another window open....LOL Shame on me if there was...hehe! It's happening to me right now actually. I was in a bit earlier. I lost my internet connection due to some storms in the area. When I came back in, there was a dup account for me in the chatters list. So, techgurl2k1 was there. And, techgurl2k1_dup_A1....or something like that was also there. I refreshed my browser. I have closed out IE completely and opened a new session. I logged out of the site and logged back in, then launched IE. The only thing I have not done is reboot. So, I will try that and I'll come back to the forum. Thanks! Oh, I confirmed with deadheadkid that the IDs are not currently in the chatters list. I was thinking maybe I was holding a connection. thanks!

I agree with reedchris. It's definitely faster. It worked fine while Bear, Pid and I were talking. But, when I left and tried to get back in, it said 'chat is already running in another window'. Not sure what that's about, but grate so far!! Thank you Marye...we miss dead chat soooooooo much!!!

Hey now, peoples! Over the next coupla days, you might see some topics popping up under different Forums and stuff like that. Remember us telling you that you're pretty much part of the Public Beta? Well, this is what we meant. (we did not mean to fight like beta fish amongst yourselves.) Fear not, we won't lose anything except maybe some navigational clunkitude. and your patience, as always, is deepy appreciated.

those yelps of glee you're hearing from the general area of the East Bay are me discovering that we can fix the structural errors we made while getting the hang of the tools. The only trouble I can think of that this will cause would be if you'd bookmarked a particular topic and it gets moved. But if you check the Forums menu or the Recent Posts menu, it should be easy to find again. It's not gone; it may be migrated a bit. Strange as it may seem, figuring this out is definitely streamlining the addition of your wish-list topics (within reason--if you ask for 20 at a time you're probably dreaming just a bit...) Thanks for your patience!

Just a note to stop by the Monterey Summer of Love Festival (www.summer67.com) to see Tom Constanten, formerly of the Grateful Dead (1968-1970). Those who like great rock music should enjoy this event that commemorates the Monterey Pop Festival and much more.

I am in a position to leave this meaningless existence I have carved out for myself here in PA. and go on the road awhile, fallowing Rat Dog for awhile… Should I do it or stay home…? I am getting $350 a week from unemployment (good old unemployment…). So money shouldn’t be a problem. I just broke up with my Girlfriend and have no ties here except my Mom and Sister and her family, both live close to me now. On the other hand I lost my drivers license for ever and could go to jail if I’m caught driving in PA. I don’t know if it would be true in other states… I’m at a toss up… On one hand there’s seeing what lies over the next hill, Traveling around wondering why this band Rat Dog is fallowing me around, Or… Stay here and work as a contractor and collect… Go on a Mission one last time… ( and I’ve toured before, stopping oon that last tour of 95…) or stay my course as the responsible Adult. Help me Decide. Thanks, Jaime.

I more or less lived like that. Harder to do these days. I once drove the South with fake plates (CT), a suspended liscence, no insurance and a bunch of warrants. The music was great.

Jcap,Marye or Izzy would probably respond to this in due time, as they are our awesome mods here, but just thought I'd lend a hand by directing you to the "Families" section, under which you will find, what I believe, is the correct venue for your post. Sorry for your (and ours I trust) loss. Welcome home, my friend. "All energy flows according to the whims of the Great Magnet. What a fool I was to defy him."

I guess I might just be feeling a little sentimental this morning for some reason or another, but I wanted to thank you all (that includes you marye) for this vine section and the connection it provides to each other and to the music we love. You all have afforded me an opportunity to participate again, just like we used to i.e. taping and trading shows. I have received music that I previously only dreamed of and read about. And more importantly this has been a gift to be able to share some nuggets that resided in my library but were dead-ended (no pun intended) there.I had shared them with friends and fellow deadheads some time ago, but now with this forum I am getting such a kick out of sharing them with you all over again. And the vine is even sending out to our brothers and sisters in other countries (and they are sending to us)! Anyway from an old school guy, you all have recharged my batteries and provided me with great stuff to listen to and more importantly, what I could share you have received it with enthusiasm with the vine. So now ‘the music never stops’ at my house and I truly get to 'pass it on'. Take care and Vine On! Tim

Graduated J&W Univ. top of my class in 2001 and I cant get a job with my degree. I cant get anything over 10 and I am almost 40. I just had a baby girl, Ariana, and I have no path to follow to care for my family in a righteous way. I desperately need help and advise. Prior to this, David worked at the BC Archives in Victoria as the audiovisual technician, and the National Archives of Canada, where he did an extensive internship in the film conservation division and worked on the development of a nitrate film storage facility. He received his MA in film archiving from the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England in 1999, as well as a BFA in film studies from Concordia University in Montreal, and a BA in history from Carleton University in Ottawa. I wish to Inform the Deadhead community that my Best Friend in the entire world as passed and any fellow heads that would know him (and there were many, many heads)should know that this happened, particularily Tony in Portland that i do not know how to contact but I saw at the 2004 show there with the Dead. Andy was a model deadhead in his belief system or principals. Jerry would of have been proud to call him friend , he never wanted to be a typical fan or hassle anyone at anytime. He was my music partner we went to so many shows together , the ones on my profile is a small sampling. His knowledge of the music and the Dead plus numerous other band community was like a library of knowledge , The vault people could of used Andy. The following is his Obit and the DEADHEADS worldwide weather you knew him or not, should heed to his passing. His story is 30 years plus and amazing. It would take more space than I'm provided to tell the story from beginning to end. I have been given his music collection , which is quite extensive in tapes as well as CD's , Probably more than 3000 pieces or more. I will be cataloging this collection of live shows and all. The following is the OBIT , My Tears have flown for three days now since I found out. Yesterday was the big day for the furneral and being with his family. I am advised that we have completed a successful transition to spiffy new servers that may improve our quality of life hereabouts. Everything is functioning pretty normally EXCEPT the chat room, which is currently offline but will be back soon. Also, do not be alarmed by the funny-looking urls at the top of your screen saying gratefuldeadmusic.com instead of dead.net. This is a temporary artifact of server moves while the Internet name servers catch up, and will go away.

Kinda fun and exciting, like rafting down the American River in 74 with my best friend Eric and thinking we had it all figured out, only to hit some life threatening snags and look over just in time to get some very timely advice from a fellow traveler. Makes you appreciate the journey all that much more! peace, love, happiness and hope, pk
