    Spent the night ........
This was my first show too. My roommates ( Mark and Steve) and I showed up the night before and ended up partying inside the venue with other like minded folks. The next day security tried to get us to go out so they could take our tickets but the people in line wouldn't move back so they have to let us stay inside and you can imagine we had 4th row .Being from Fort Collins we would work all day and go to the shows, drive home and then do it all over again. Oh, it's good to be young!

Hey Now Everyone,We're collecting personal memories from folks about the cooler places the Dead played. We have a facebook page Grateful Dead Pick A Place And Go to capture those memories while we still have them and to let those who couldn't make it there what it was like. We also have an email at brokedownpalaces@gmail.com. Rob

    Possibly the most scenic venue
athough I've never been to the Gorge or the Greek.Redrocks is a great place and 7/7/78 is/was a grate show. The soundboard was somehow recorded in monaural ( is there one in stereo?). Good candidate for a matrix! The next night rocked too!

Red Rocks is an amazing place to see ANY show but 7/7 and 7/8/78 will always be held dearly in my heart as the first time I ever saw the Dead, met and hung out with Donna, and found "home".

When I was on vacation a couple days ago I saw a guy (in the walmart checkout line, no shit) wearing a vintage 7/7/78 t-shirt! It was a little threadbare and worn, but really cool nonetheless. It was a nice start to the day.

...it was not a wal mart shirt. It was ratty as hell, I touched it and he got it at the show! I should have offered him some green for it. I bet I could have gotten it. And, I'm kicking myself I didn't haha...
