Giants Stadium, 6/17/1991
Can anyone steer me towards a good complete audio file of this show? It's the best damn dead show I got to see and I would love own it!!
Mississippi Your Face
Hi everyone, I'm a longtime Deaddite (I grew up listening to Aoxomoxa and Live/Dead with my parents...one of my earliest memories is Dark Star on vinyl. Love it.). Anyway, the journey of life has landed me in Jackson, Mississippi and around the city and a few other places around the state I've seen what I describe as "Mississippi Your Face" stickers in bars and concert venues and cars. They're round, about 4" in diameter, and red, white, and blue. You know, what you'd expect. I've seen new ones added in the last few months, so I know the person (or people) that have them are still doing their thing.
I'd like one for my car and my girlfriend would REALLY like one for her bike as she's moving to Manhattan soon (she's got an awesome job with the NYC Public Library). Anyone have any clue who this is? Or where I should look?

thank you in advance.
two shirts i used to have....
one got just too many holes in it, the other was stolen from me....anyway, if anyone can help me re-find two of my favorite shirts that i bought on tour, i would totally pay you for them.....one was one that i bought at the Sandstone Ampitheatre show on July 4,1990 on the front it had a Steal Your Face with a peace sign inside, and read "Once in Awhile You Get Shown the Light..." ; on the back it had a map of summer tour 1990 and said "....in the Strangest of Places If You Look at it Right" (of course the great aside to getting that shirt there was the fact that the Boys played one of the best 1990s versions of Scarlet>Fire at that show: mid-set!!)
the other shirt I'd love to find again I bought at a Cal Expo show in 1991: it read "Only Love Can Phil" with a multi-colored heart dripping into a multi-colored pool.
If anyone out there happens to have either of these that they'd want to sell, please email me at: 07erw@alumni.williams.edu
peace.
Dick's Picks
Is there anyway i can find actual physical copies of the Dick's Picks CDS anymore without going on ebay or buying them used? i want like all of them new but my local music store told me they couldnt be found any more because they werent being made except like 5 or 6 volumes that were still in production. can anyone tell me where to get these?
On the Grateful Dead Accoustics
if im not mistaken, the Grateful Dead has an album called Reckoning that is all live accoustic.
With regard to Dick's Picks
it would appear that your record store is giving you bogus info, as it certainly looks like all the CDs are available, and downloads also, here.
Hey imagination
Odd cuts and Rarities is available at the itunes store.
Tapers
Hello there,
I'm an author and I'm writing a book called Touch Me I'm Sick: How Big Ideas Spread Online.
It's a study of how the entertainment industry has used the internet to communicate with fans over the last ten years.
I'm exploring the comparison between fans of the British band The Arctic Monkeys swapping songs online and The Grateful Dead's tapers.
Were you a taper? Do you have any photos from gigs?
It would be excellent to hear from you.
Yours faithfully,
Lee Henshaw.

Brents last show's?!
Can somebody tell me what were the last-few Brent show's recorded? Album titles if possible. Thanks, Sugaree.
Brent's last shows
His last shows were in July 1990. There are no official releases of these shows. Go to deadlists.com or even the setlists part of this site and scroll through the 1990 shows.
Brents last show's?!
Ive found so far, View From the Vault 1, that was recorded July 8 with a few cuts from July 6 1990. That's pretty close to the fateful day.
I'm a hog for you baby
Hi! I need a link for a clean recording of "I'm a hog for your baby". Can you help me out? Thanks so much!
awsome photos
Over the summer of 2008, I had the opportunity to work with photographer Peter Simon, brother to Carly Simon, as a personal assistant/intern. I was very inspired by his work and would like to share his Grateful Dead photos with the Dead community. Check out the archives on www.petersimon.com if you are looking for intimate, rare, and exclusive photos of Jerry Garcia or the band. Peter Simon was a close friend of Jerry's, so he was able to capture a rare inside look into the bands history that others simply did not have access to. He shared many a joint with the man, as he went on tour with the band numerous times! I was blown away by his original, silver gel shots of the band. Done in the dark room the old fashioned way, there is nothing cooler than a piece of history copied right off the original negatives!

GD Garter - Please help!
I've searched the depths of the internet to no avail!
Can anyone point me in the right direction to buy a Grateful Dead garter to surprise my darling Deadhead future husband at our wedding??
Deadercise / Club dead shirts
I was reading searching for people and "bulletproof" wrote a blog about "Dance your ass off" which remided me of something I have been looking fo for a while. Anyone remember the "DEADERCISE" t-shirts found at shows, think may have been 88, anyway I used to have one but like so many wore it till it fell of me. Tried google and all that but no luck. would love to find some. They had different dancing skeleton scenarios, kinda went along with the club dead stuff, which I can't find anymore either. i just love the whole deadercise concept just think about how many calories you burn per show what 3-4 hrs continuous movement what a deal. so if anybody knows sharethe knowledge thanx.
Good ol GD....
Reading that dance your ass off post reminded me of that shirt too!! I had a deadercise t-shirt, it was one of my faves too...needless to say I wore mine out too :(I have been searching for one of them, if I find it I will let you know!!
Peace, Gigi
GiGi
Someone must still have the template. Maybe someone else who remembers will shed little light. I tried looking up Club Dead too no luck. Those were cool to. I do still have one that says "IT'S A DEAD THING YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND" made when those it's black thing, it's a redneck and whatever were around. it's cool got a dancing uncle sam skeleton on it kickin up some dust. Oh yea like you comment on you profile "looking for" me to got like ten more shows to add to list just can't remember which. Were they ever here at all. stay dead.
Compendiums cheaper than Amazon?
I'm wanting to get a set of the Tapers Compendium. New copies would be great, if available, but I guess they are out of print now. I'm looking for any or all three volumes + the addendum. Through Amazon there are sellers with used/very good condition books and Vol. 1 isn't too bad, but Vol. 2 is fifty to eighty dollars & Vol. 3 is nearly a hundred bucks.
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure they're worth it but a hundred bucks for a paperback is kinda steep. If any of you folks know of a source for these I'd appreciate a personal msg.
Thanks,
MarkintheDark
Foolish Heart on any DP?
I gave up looking...any live versions of Foolish Heart anywhere? I loved Buckeye June 93...can't find any live version. thanks in advance for any tips.
Try digging through the vine setlists for "Foolish Heart"
Hey now Matt,
You might try digging through the setlists for the shows on the Vines forums, there's probably a couple of hundred shows there. It'll be time consuming though.

foolish hearts THANK YOU
thanks all...I found a downloadable version from Buckeye Lake 1993 that I attended...was terribly over-served so don't remember it all that clearly. We got there very early to avoid the inevitable Buckeye traffic but spent those idle hours in the parking lot visiting the devil's workshop I suppose. can't figure out how to download and burn some concerts...they go directly to i-tunes but I can't make a CD: this show has a SMOKIN' F.H. but I can't burn a for-personal-use-only copy
09/08/93- Richfield Coliseum - Richfield, OH.
Any ideas? I'm low tech. my college aged sons and friend said that format could not be copied but I felt I was semi-patronized and blown off.
Thanks all. the tip on archive.org is cool...been visiting shows I've seen over the decades.
Hey mkav, you can only stream the soundboards...
If you have selected a soundboard version of your show it's only available for streaming audio. If you can find an audience tape of the same show you should be able to download and burn to CDs.

you can listen to this as a stream or download the files in several formats - if you do SHN, then you will have to get a program to convert them to WAV before burning to CD. Etree has some good tools & background descriptions you can read at your own leasurehttp://www.etree.org/mkw.html
Note - you CAN capture the soundboard streams - but you need the tools to do it. I believe Silent Bob can do it - but the final quality will depend on your equipment.

Compendiums
Mark, I think Ltapilot saw the same prices you did when he looked. Don't want to make you feel bad, but when I bought them early in the decade, I got 2 of the volumes on clearance, under $5 each.
It's too late to feel bad, dstache! I already spent the bucks...
It's only money, after all, and I've done some way stupider things with money.
Volume three via Amazon was a hundred bucks (very like new except for a couple of "discard" stamps: its a library discard but the library had reinforced the spine w/nice clear tape so it's almost better than new), volume two was around $60 and is totally new. Gotta great deal on volume one via eBay though: the seller was selling V1, + a copy of What a Long Strange Trip (the songbook), and a copy of the Official Book of the Deadheads (pub 1983). Won the auction for $12! All these and a couple more Deadish books are this year's Xmas presents for myself (I'd be getting a copy of the new 365 book through the deadstore w/my new Road trips but the deadstore is currently out of inventory)
Can't find a copy of the Taping Addendum anywhere though. Any suggestions/leads would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
MarkintheDark

Complete Fillmore
I know this is a long shot, but I am looking for anyone with the Complete Fillmore Box Set. I just got into the band this year and I am trying to get my hands on it. I have the 3 disc set and it is absolutely unbelieveable! Of course, the next step was to get the full run and I found out about this box set and its out-of-print status and its ridiculous cost on Ebay! If anyone is looking to part with their copy, please let me know. I understand this is really a shot in the dark, but you gotta keep on keepin' on...
Good luck with Fillmore
I got mine on eBay several years ago, $300 for an opened copy. Pristine, but opened. Don't know what they're bidding up to now but I saw a "Buy it now" unopened for $895.
What can ya do, they're not getting any cheaper, and they're not making any more ;^( It's not just "out of print", it was a limited, numbered edition of 10,000 copies that went quick, as I recall.

Looking for stuff
IKOIKOALLDAY I just finished a great book -a comedy, suspense, thriller all in one where the main character is a major deadhead and the story is riddled with dead references, show experiences and lots of other dead-related stuff.
Book is called One Hour Martinizing and is available at Amazon, Barnes and Noble and the authors site- www.franksaitta-onehourmartinizing.com
Check it out I bought 2 for a couple of kindred spirits in my life, enjoy!
DeadBase X
Hey all,
Looking for a copy of Deadbase X. Let me know if someone wants to part with one or if the have an extra. I do prefer hardback, but won't be to particular.
Thanks!
Kinda pricey Deadbase
new on eBay $320 OBO, and one on auction bids @ $51, ends Thursday night.
new @ Amazon for $500, cheapest used one is $130. And I thought the compendiums were bad...

Complete Fillmore '69
Reading boss2003 post about the complete fillmore 69 recordings got me interested, as I do not have the box either. $999.99 on ebay right now. Thats 1250 Canadian. You could get the bonus disc alone for $75. Make your Dead heads holiday, yeah right maybe if I get everyone I know to pitch in.
Complete Fillmore
And I can't believe that Dead.net sold it for $75!
