I will be at the Gorge...... I pick up the tour in Denver May 7th, and will also see the ABB in Oakland at the Fox theatre May 12 & 13. I am looking forward to seeing family & friends as well as new faces. As for all of the good seats being bought up by scalpers- I got my tix through GDTS TOO at regular price. I got 13th row sec CCC on the floor in Denver, and sec 102 row CC at Shoreline on 5/10. Looking at the charges on my credit card a couple of weeks ago, I got reserved at Shoreline on 5/14 as well as the Gorge on 5/16... They should be arriving shortly and I'd be willing to bet they will be really good seats as well. My only nose bleed seat I got through ticketbastard - It will be nice to sit with Jerry in LA that night and enjoy the show. Peaceful journey to everyone heading to the shows - enjoy it while it lasts - watch out for each other and please be safe driving home. We're gonna pitch a ball Down to the union hall We're gonna romp and stomp till midnight We're gonna fuss and fight till daylight We're gonna pitch a wang dang doodle all night long Shine On! while the song selection was not the best, they did sound tight....I enjoyed the event myself....and my pre-sale tickets were Section 106 with a great view.from what I've been told, they were trying to not repeat any of the previous concerts songs. All in all...a good time to be had by all.

I have to say i was not happy at all with the Albany show. First off we bought our tickets presale. The expensive seats. Where were they located section 228 row S. Where was that? The very top of the arena obstructed view of the stage. My review on buying seats presale. Do not do it. P.S. Ticket brokers suck. Ruining it for all of us. Legalized extorsion if you ask me ,but hey it continues to flourish, and nobody does a thing about it. Keep lining those fat wallets with our hard earned money. Thanks alot. Ticket brokers buy up most of the good tickets to profit off of, they arent Deadheads....their Dickheads Now about the show. The show did have highlights .....into the mystic west la,cumberland, sugaree, broken arrow, throwing stones and fade away but just way too much space. To much meandering on their instruments. I mean what kind of drugs did i need to be on to enjoy what was happening on stage. The second set was like listening to space forever . Dadadadadada...da da da da...daa...daa. ....daaa..dadadadada...daaaaa...daaa dadadadada....daaaadaaaa. I think you get the point give us a break. We came to sing, dance, reflect and enjoy the moment. I dont know if anybody enjoyed that . I saw people in the front row looking confused and like ....where is this going? Come on with the price of the ticket give us a real show for crying out loud. I couldnt tell if they were playing for the fans or themselves? I love Drums..... space i could do without .If i had my way i`d replace space with a few acoustic songs to give micky and bill a break. Hey Phil ! You Rock! Please give us another tour same lineup as last but ask Warren to come along for the ride. Warren you are definitely MVP candidate. Bring back Phil and Friends. Phils band has it going on. I saw them last summer a few times un-freaking-believable. Down to business Thankyou Phil for having your priorities straight. Hope things are better the rest of the tour . Albany didnt do it for me and my entourage

I'm sure there will be a few extra Bay Area shows added to the end of the schedule but it would be marvelous to have a European tour in summer. Some of us can't get visas to visit the US due to past glories on the GD lot. The guys will be settled in with each other by then so it would be a fun time for them and insirational too! :) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Are you kind?"

Anyone know if mail order is going to be available to the spring fling tour? There is mention of internet presale but not sure if that is the only way to get a leg up ahead of the major release.

All I know is that when I read this morning, I literally jumped up & down !!! I'm gonna plan on Chicago , LA & Mountain View Shows , I want to be at the last show of the tour. In 2004 I went all over to see them and the best was in George Was. @ the Gorge with the ABB , it was excellent. I just can't say how excited I am for this, that just made my Year for 2009, everything else comes second. Can Not WAIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I knew they'd announce it late NYE! THANK YOU BOB, PHIL, MICKEY & BILLY!!! You have made a wonderful decision - and so have I! I'm gonna allow myself to become a kid again for a few nights and come join the party - 5 nights is what I think I can swing!! You guys are the best........I can't believe I was actually crying at my keyboard this morning. I'll be feeling extra love everytime I pick up my guitar and play. I'll be smiling for months. This is better than Christmas! That video is what made me cry.... And speaking of that video - the boys sure have put out a few things with WONDERFUL shots & sounds from that Obama night.....DO I SMELL AN OFFICIAL DVD RELEASE COMING SOON?????? OOOOOOOOOOOO PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE?!?!?!??!!!! I was there and it was SUCH a magical evening....the sounds & sights they've released SO far from that night prove me right. I've heard the 'naysayers' say....it was feh, or whatever. SORRY - I've studied the music for far too long and have been playing it myself for over 20 years. They were listening SO intently to each other that night & played SO well with each other....that St. Stephen...The Other One...Help/Slip....PHEEEEEFREAKINOMINAL!!! ~ Pappy http://www.theCAUSEjams.com "Once in a while you can get shown the light in the strangest of places, if you look at it right." - Robert Hunter

...say, someplace that's within a few hours drive to a Dead show. Some of you 'heads have like six shows within an easy drive. I'm looking at eight hours to Greensboro, or 5-1/2 hours to Chicago (and that's driving all the way through Chicago, brrrrrr) Fingers crossed for a festival tour, I could tolerate the Manchester fuzz if the boys play Bonnaroo. Strap a retread to my feet. Just like the old days a nice little Spring northeast tour. Good to see the guys touring together again with Warren. Been truckin' to shows since "77 and, the last tour with Warren (check out 8/01/04 Saratoga Springs NY Jerry's birthday) was as close as you can get....to Jerry. Peace and Love. If you get confused listen to the music play. "Oh if a man tried To take his time on earth And prove before he died What one man's life could be worth I wonder what would happen To this world."

from post-Jerry shows, seeing only Phil & Friends twice since the Capt. left us. One show was great, the other so-so. However, I will take the plunge seeing as how the Boys seem genuinely psyched about getting back together, and Warren Haynes is an excellent choice (accepting that no one can or will ever replace JG in my eyes). So, its off to the Nassau Coliseum and MSG, just like the old days!!! "Let there be songs to fill the air."

Except for a few lucky folks it looks like they are only playing one night at each venue. In 2003 and 2004 they sold out Red Rocks 5 nights. Pepsi Center only holds about twice what Red Rocks holds. It just seems like they could play at least 2 nights at the Pepsi Center, but hey I am not complaining (well a little). Can't wait though, maybe we can get out to Cali. Last time I saw the Grateful Dead at Shoreline was in 1989. Man that would be crazy to get back out there. Actually I saw them in 91 there too or was it 92? Aye aye aye! Happy New Years my Deadhead sisters and brothers hope to see you this spring!! "I can tell the queen of diamonds by the way she shines. I'm so excited to get out and see the boys again, it's been far too long! I tried to get up to SAn Fran for New YEars, but unfortunately the finances wouldn't allow it, but look out Los Angeles her I come!!! Wish they were coming to San DIego again...the venue down here is soooo much better than the Forum, but hey at least it's only a 2 hour drive away. And to top it off it's a Saturday night!!!! I can't wait, I'm giddy with excitement. Time to break out my dancing skirts! Take care everyone and hope see you all this Spring!

Posted: January 1, 2009 - 2:16amJimmy Herring? I thought he was on? Silentlyscreaming - Jimmy Herring plays with Widespread Panic. Actually we saw them 2 shows over this New Years (Pepsi Center, Dec 30th and 31st) and let me tell you Jimmy was on fire those nights. Mind blowing! I highly suggest finding those shows and downloading them. "I can tell the queen of diamonds by the way she shines. Come to daddy on an inside straight, well I've got no chance of losing this time"

This is the best way to start 2009!!!!Wish they were playing at Red Rocks, but then, maybe that will be a summer surprise. I went to the Ratdog & ABB show at Red Rocks this summer, and remembered how much I miss the band. When Jerry first passed, I couldn't imagine ever going to a show without him - so I haven't been to see The Dead since - I'm way past ready!

...to rest up after the last shows in Cali (although I'm guessing some Cali shows will get added), then they'll be off to Bonnaroo to start off the Festival Season - they'll hit all the ones that Phil&friends and Ratdog and Mickey + whoever have done for the last few years. At least that's what I'm hoping (although Bonnaroo is more of a hassle than it's worth, anymore. Big ol' corporate mall). All those shows in the northeast, they've basically ignored the southeast, and Chicago is the only Midwest show. Denver, then a couple for the Left Coast. If I can't pull off a trip to Chicago I guess I'll be missing this tour, Greensboro's 500 miles away and I don't see being able to afford it. ********************************************* I have a sigfile! --> www.kindveggieburritos.com *********************************************
