It's the 30th anniversary of this show, so I slapped it in the player. I suggest folks do the same, if only to hear Bobby explain that Phil had been taken by aliens during the intermission! Playing it right now, and its awsome. kinda resembles the early 70's shows, most of the shows are jamed out like 15 min or more. Minus jerrys singing you couldnt ask for more, it seems to be more crisp and with more energy than the last dead shows in the 90's. If its any sign of whats to be with this tour, than the music will be great. It would be cool if they did like DSO does and pick a past set list and play it, preferably from 73' since there tended to be alot of shows with 3 sets. I wasnt happy about the prices either but you wont regret it when your at the show, from now untill april is plenty of time to adjust your life style and be able to put some money back. Quit going out to eat, dont buy name brand food, hault all purchases besides bills, theres countless ways of coming up with the money. Think about the last thing you really needed or wanted but didnt really have the money to get it but you managed to aquire it. Most things are possible if you got enough gumption.

All this comparison to other bands and price talk " They are not the best at what they do they are the only ones that do what they do" IMO while the "core four" have slipped somewaht recently their is NO denying that the product they deliver is awe inspiring. Case in point dating back to Bobby and Tom C at tower theater shortly after jerry passed, too SPAC july 4th in the rain, red rocks shows 03 and 04, little schoolgirl in AZ 04, Shoreline to end the 04 tour. AND yes i saw "jerry" over 75 times ...if you cup is empty... if your cup is full may it be again

Five Simple Ways to Save Yourself Hundreds of Dollars a Month
If you really can't afford $100 then try the following. You have a few months to save! 1. Cash back at the pump In the past five months gasoline prices have dropped 56%, from an average price of $4.11 to $1.80 a gallon. Somehow, households found the money to pay the higher price and survive so now people should take that excess money they are saving and bank it. 2. Supper savings Americans will spend an average of $34 this year every time they go out to eat dinner, that's for one dinner, drink and gratuity; $76.00 if they live in one of the 20 most expensive cities. If a couple does that four times in a month the expense is close to $300 in low-cost areas and $600 in higher-cost regions, and if you have more than one drink or are treating family or friends, costs can add up quickly. 3. Renegotiate bills You may not be able to negotiate with the gas company or the electric company, but you can with credit cards, cable and phone services, among others. Do the homework and find out what competing cable companies, for example, are offering and ask your provider to renegotiate your bill. You may have to get through to a manager but Chatzky said she recently did this and got her monthly bill reduced by $50. 4. Smart shopping Retailers are poised to have one of the worst holiday shopping seasons in decades and are offering deep discounts to move merchandise. But smart shoppers can save even more money by hunting down coupons. Before ordering online or going to a store, go to sites like Couponcabin.com and Ultimatecoupons.com or Google the name of a store and often you'll get a coupon code to enter at checkout. You can save 10% to 20% or more on the total order or maybe get free shipping. There are also coupons to print out and take to the store for deeper discounts. And don't be afraid to pit one retailer against another by asking for a price match on sale items. 5. Keep the receipt It is important to hang on to all your store receipts and keep track of sales. Savvy shoppers can possibly save even more on purchases by checking back to see if the retailers lower prices even further. If that happens within two weeks of your purchase, most stores will credit you the difference. see you at the philadelphia spectrum may 2nd

Spring may not work out but the fact they're out there gives me hope for humanity. My 1st show was St.Louis in 1970, and even though I will try Chicago, if I don't make it I'll be grateful for all those who do. I mean, they're so many DH's that haven't ever seen the boys, so if my missed seat goes to one of those folks, I'll be dancin' just because of that. Let's all have a grate time, celebrate in joy & love...and Summer at Alpine, please. Steve

I'm just a chimp in Kentucky, so when I say "guessing they'll add Cali shows" it's not even a very educated guess. However, that's the end of the little tour, and they have several weeks before Bonnaroo (if they're even going, that's another guess). I expect with only two shows in Califorrnia those two shows will be packed full, deep and wide, and they wouldn't have any trouble selling out all the shows they want. It would be silly not to add shows, and SoCal would seem likely, assuming the guys' individual schedules allow it. Since Phil, Bob and Micki have toured through the spring and summer anyway the last few years I'd be surprised if (a) some shows didn't get added, and (b) there wasn't a summer tour on the festival circuit as well. I also wouldn't be surprised to see a jump over to Europe in the fall, either. It's been years, and they would certainly be welcomed. I'm sure the economics favor it. I'll keep my chimp fingers crossed for you li'l darlin's! Ook ook! E!Online via Yahoo News (or vice versa) have an article on the tour now, with the headline "The Dead to Roam the Earth". My sister heard it on some radio news today, and called to make sure I knew (she's not a deadhead at all). I pretended not to already know when she said "they're going to be in Chicago, that's only a few hours away, you should go" - I've already googled up maps and expedia'd up plane tickets and hotels. Now, if I only had the cash... Come on, Powerball! ********************************************* I have a sigfile! --> www.kindveggieburritos.com *********************************************

Hey Now, OklahomaKris! Vending, as always, will be a roll of the dice. Some places simply will try not to let that deal go down, others will turn the other cheek. Be vigilant, be safe, be lowkey but most important of all, enjoy the music. See you on Shakedown Street!

Rise and shine, Eurodead! Get your gear together and let's hit the US road . . . if they're not meeting us here, let's meet them there. After all, they are THE BAND (dang, what a surprise, guess we are following them after all instead of vice versa--who knew?). No spring Jam in the Dam this year so guess the cash is gonna go to a rock reunion family Dead style. It really, truly doesn't matter what you wear . . .

I hate to poop on the good news... but once again, they tour for their wallets not their fan love.... 12 shows packed into the N.E. corner, then just 2 shows west of the Rockies!?!?!? Are you kidding me!?!?! Looks like Phil's tour manager wrote this tour up...I'm extrememly stoked that the boys are getting out, but c'mon. Another N.E. laden "national tour" makes many out here wanna vomit..... I'm hoping they announce some early summer shows for the West!

p.s.) Love the symbolism of the Dead playing their first show on Easter. Resurrect the boys and let the tunes ascend up to the heaven! Be very cool to hear a first song, first show, Estimated Prophet to complete the lovely symbolic prankster message: "Like an angel, standing in a shaft of light Rising up to paradise, I know I'm gonna shine"

I NOW LIVE IN CHILE AND HAVE LIVED HERE FOR OVER SIX YEARS. I THINK IT WOULD BE REALLY GREAT IT IF THE BAND WOULD CONSIDER COMING DOWN HERE. YOU GUYS COULD PLAY HERE AS WELL IN ARGENTINA. I CANT REALLY SAY HOW MANY HEADS EXIST DOWN IN THESE PARTS, BUT THEN AGAIN I HAVENT EVER TAKEN A SURVIVE EITHER. I KNOW A FEW PEOPLE THAT WOULD DIG SEEING YOU GUYS AND ONE OF THEM IS DEFINITELY ME. I KNOW THAT THERE IS A SCENE OF MUSIC LOVERS DOWN HERE BECAUSE I TALK TO THEM, PLUS ARGENTINA IS A BALLS OUT ROCK-N-ROLL COUNTRY SO YOU WOULD HAVE A GAS THERE AS WELL. THE LOVERS OF MUSIC DOWN HERE REALLY APPRECIATE WHEN MUSICIANS FROM OTHER PLACES OUTSIDE OF SOUTH AMERICA PLAY. WHEN PEARL JAM CAME HERE IT WAS THE SHIT. THE PEOPLE ARE GRATEFUL FOR THE MUSIC AND I AM NOT EVEN MAKING A PUN ON WORDS. I KNOW AS MUSICIANS YOU WOULD REALLY FEEL THE LOVE WITH THE MUSIC LOVERS IN THESE PARTS. BOB DYLAN CAME DOWN HERE A FEW YEARS AGO, I AM SURE HE CAN CONTEST THAT IT WAS WORTH IT. ALSO YOU GUYS CAN CHECK OUT THE COUNTRY, IT HAS MANY BEAUTIFUL PLACES TO SEE. "TORRE DEL PAYNE" WHICH IS A LOVELY PARK IN THE SOUTH AND IF YOU LIKE COOPER MINES, IN THE NORTH THE LARGEST OPEN FACED MINE IN THE WORLD IS HERE. DID I MENTION THE YUMMY FOOD-FORGET ABOUT, MAN IT'S THE BOMB AND NOT ONLY THAT THE PEOPLE LOVE TO MAKE IT FOR FOREGNIERS. I AS WELL AS MANY OTHERS WOULD JUST LOVE IF YOU GUYS CAME HERE. IF YOU EVER WANT TO COME, PLEASE DO BECAUSE YOU WILL BE GLAD THAT YOU DID AND SO WILL WE. I HOPE TO SEE YOU IN SHORELINE IF ALL GOES WELL I WILL. YOUR MUSIC HAS ALWAYS MEANT SO MUCH TO ME AND I WILL ALWAYS BE HAPPY TO KNOW THAT WHAT YOU HAVE DONE AND WHAT YOU CONTINUE TO DO AS MUSICIANS IS JUST GRAND. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR EFFORTS THROUGHOUT THE YEARS. SINCERELY YOUR FRIEND, JOE

The press release states the band formed in Haight Ashbury in the mid 60's. I always thought they formed south of San Franscisco more around the Palo Alto area. Am I missing something or is the publicist? A little historical revisionism going on here; or do we know more than the person writing the release? If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite. William Blake

Just so folks know. Any tickets you see listed already are scalpers that are ASSUMING they will get tickets to sell. They just put up the listings. Then, in the fine print, they mention that they may not be able to get them. DO NOT BUY FROM SCALPERS! Just get your #10 envelopes together :-) (or do this new fangled "pre-sale" that is being listed...)

Have you all seriously never heard of a pre sale? It's nothing that special I am sure. They will release some tickets a few days/weeks before the rest are released to the public. If it is anything like other pre sales I have done, they will give you a promo code probably on this website that you plug into a field when you are purchasing the tickets online from whichever ticket broker they use (Ticketmaster). It shouldn't be anything more than that. I wonder if they are doing mail order?? Either way I imagine it is going to be rather difficult to get tickets especially to shows out west.
