I don't nkow kids, the "boys" are old men now. Nina Simone had the decency to tour up to Seattle shortly before her death and I paid some big bucks to see her. The experience beat the ticket price by far and now she is dead and I have no chance of ever seeing her again. I say, if they're coming near you and you want to see them, be happy they're coming to a place that you can travel to as I, can't get time off work for such an escapade. When you think that $30 bucks was pretty norm for crappy seats in the 90's and you consider what the dollar is/isn't worth now, you can't possibly tell me that seeing them isn't worth $100. They're old and they've lived fast lives, we're lucky they can still pick up their instruments, let alone blow our minds... eff the money, its all a game anyway, but a lasting experience that you could carry with you forever is not a game and it is worth it. SO, that said, if you do go, don't get too blasted so you can hold on to what might be your last GD memory, just like many of you do with your remembrance of Jerry, Brent, Keith AND Vince, do also for Bob, Phil, Bill, Mickey, Jeff and Warren. | Wait until the veil is shredded, then reveal it |

if you mail order on tuesday, wednesday or thursday, i can't believe that you won't get tickets. you just won't know for awhile. some shows might sell out, (msg, philly), maybe on the weekend, maybe worcester because it's a bit smaller, but it will not be like back in the day. tuesday in buffalo, 19k people?? they will be promoting the crap out of it like you've seen on cnn, but those are outlets are one-offs unless it's a real slow news cycle. read some dialogue on philzone or some other forums out there. people are pissed about $100. again, we don't really know how many are $100 vs. $70, so hard to get totally crazy yet. in the end, people will pony up the $. just don't think it'll be as intense. i was looking at 5 shows and will now only be doing 2. if it was phil & phriends for $60, i'm all in!

Can somebody answer me the simple question of what is going to be left over for them to stick in your envelope? I mean after presale online here (hopefully) and then TicketSheister? Those of you comparing this to a Rat Dog tour are nuts. This is all going to sell out in a lickety split. Look at this http://us.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/Music/01/06/grateful.dead/index.html This is going to be a scramble to get tickets. Get em off the line or be in the parking lot complaining and doing whippets. I've been there. So the big question remains: how will dead.net help US make sure that WE get our tickets! We need details now. thanks, pokey

Anybody know if you buy $60 seats at the Garden, what are we talking about? Is it $100 floor, $60 everywhere else, or what? Where do they draw the line?It would be nice to know, though I figure how bad can it be? At least I don't have to see them in a friggin football stadium. Good luck and keep yer head.

gdtstoo is a valid and reliable method to buy tix. did so for years. hardest part is waiting to hear back. also, those who plan to do a bunch of shows have a ton of paperwork to do at home and the post office. a bit of a pain. was cool back in the day. expect that they will also put some sort of online, pre-sale deal out by tomorrow at the latest. phil used both methods for nokia run. either way, you're laying out your cash 3+ months ahead of shows. great way for someone (boys, promoters, et al) to make money on your money. can't imagine that they'll sell out too many of these shows. filling arenas that hold over 15k people will be tough. ratdog does not routinely sell out small theaters. phil neither with the exception of certain locales and weekend dates, etc. (nokia, warfield). in Fall '07, phil put on tremendous shows in syracuse and glens falls, ny (smaller hockey rinks) and didn't sell half of the places. we'll see if people buy the "cheap" ($70ish) seats versus the "good" ones ($100ish). me, no way i'm paying for high end seats. it's true that other acts (stones, police, etc.) charge large $, but they control the supply and create the demand. plus, they are the classic "one timers" as people don't go to multiple shows. going to be interesting.

Speaking on behalf of dead heads who honestly has the money to go to multiple shows. $100 dollars a ticket is completley outragious. If im spending 100 bucks for a ticket it sure as h**l better be a floor ticket not some nosebleed b.s.

I live in Seattle and I am praying and hoping they play the Gorge this summer..I am looking forward to going to Shoreline and spending a few days in the Bay Area.. We also have a house near the ocean in Santa Cruz... The smiles, dancing & laughter in the air will compensate for any price tag and that my friends can not be bought

More people are complaining over the cost of a ticket vs. the price of gas we were paying last summer. Come on...... take that extra money you're not spending on inflated gas prices and by a ticket!!!!!!!!

I just registered at the deadtickets site and the only tickets listed for the WB, PA show are the upper tier pricing? Other shows have two tier tix, but some only have the mucho dinero tix? I don't care where my seat is...not like I'll be using it anyway and no need to see the "maturity lines" on Bobby! lol I wanted to treat my bro and his girl, since they can't really spring for $150 (lower price tix? at least for mailorder) for them both...but it's going to cost me $300 for us to catch the boys one last time? *sigh* Time to break out the colored pencils and get my envelope ready for tomorrow! ~Wake now, discover that you are the song that the morning brings!

What's confusing me is how some of the venues appear to have only the upper tier tickets on sale during the pre-sale (Nassau Coliseum, MSG, the Spectrum, etc.) while others have both tiers available (Buffalo, Hartford, etc.). Anyone know why this is? I can't imagine they'd sell the lesser seats for the higher price during the presale online, while selling them for regular price via mailorder and/or when they eventually go on sale to the public... but then again it would depend on what shady ticket company was in charge. Anyway, based on the ticket prices I'm probably going to mail order- at least I know what I SHOULD be getting when I pay $100 for a ticket to MSG, and it seems like the only way to get the cheap tickets to the E. Rutherford shows. If they would just make it clear on the site what tickets are being sold for that price... Anyway, it's gonna be a wonderfully strange time regardless... see you on Shakedown Street!

I would have payed twice today's rate and sat in the parking lot if I knew it would have been Jerry's last show back then. Being able to see the four of them together and see the magic in person possibly one last time!! At least I'm enjoyin' the Ride!! GratefulParks

They won't sell out on the presale. This isn't The Stones or The Eagles. If you don't have the cash, don't buy them. If you do, get them when you can. Most venues i've been to over the past couple decades didn't sell out, I doubt these big arena shows will. Personally, I wish they would have chosen smaller places to play to keep the room full. It's been a bummer on ratdog shows looking behind me and seeing empty seats.

is it possible the access code is the "security code" that had to be entered after the user name and password were entered? I hope not because I didn't write it down. The reason I'm asking is because I just received an email that didn't mention anything about the access code.

Look with now a days inflation. Does it really suprise you that its this much. For that matter I hear all you cry & complain but come on its the Dead & you dont think its worth it. Yea it may not be as little of cost as it was 30 yrs ago but today is today & who knows when we will see these guys back on stage. Let alone what may happen to then in the up coming years. So a certain price you may not feel is fair. Just think how you would feel saving those couple bucks & missing one of the last Dead shows, cuz we all know theres not gonna be to much more. Hell thats my 2 cents but what do I know!

i was gonna go to 3-5 shows then just one but now i think im gonna go to two. Im gonna buy a a good seat for one show and a cheapo ticket for the other (<----cheapo ticket? does that exist?) See im thinking since everybodys pissed that the tickets are so expense maybe the place will only be half full and i can get to a better seat, maybe even the floor. Or just dose the security guard and come back in 30 min and we'll both go down to the floor and have a good time.

no i don't think the "security code" would be an access code. that's just to keep automated responses at rest. On to a different subject... people complaining about the price of tix... my husband and i spent $100 a pop plus hotel room for the allman bros and bob weir in chicago last year. We are thrilled the tix are only $100 for the number of bands you will see on this tour. We missed the obama show. been kickin ourselves ever since. when we heard of this we decided right away, and with no clue what the cost, WE ARE SOOOO THERE!

it's not just the $100 tickets. it's also the VIP packages that it appears have basically locked up the first 10 rows...the DEAD...VIP PACKAGES???? Unreal. I'm not even sure it makes good economic sense for the band...They're gonna walk out on stage every night to a lot of expensive--and empty--seats.
