Took the bus downtown this Morning. 10 minutes to downtown. I love my city. Even the homeless sleeping in the park or those waiting to get free breakfast from the Salvation Army. I was born here. My soul grew here. Big city, big problems but it's home. I know it like the back of my hand. These streets have memories, of harder times and slower days. When horses were pulling wagons down the cobblestone streets. The Dred Scott decision was handed down right across from where I sit.

It's ok I will spin one for you.... 5 a.m. on Tuesday, why am I up so early? Drive out to Santa Ana 'cause I've got jury duty No breakfast, short tempered And I cut my head shaving Ten miles out, I hit traffic Some days just aren't worth saving You know I haven't had the best of days But I want to stop and thank you anyway At the courthouse I waited And waited then I waited At lunchtime my car stalled out I couldn't get it started Had a book by C.S. lewis I finished the last page and Slept on my desk for three hours Just like my high school days 'Cuz every single moment Whether sleeping or awake is your creation And what you've made is good I don't always thank you for the rough days And the hard times in my life Even though I should Got home and decided I'd be in a bad mood My shy and quiet wife said she didn't like my attitude Got a call from my mother Forgot my sister's birthday I'm a lousy older brother safe to say I've had a bad day

As soon as the panel was called, the case was setled. Now I'm drinking my lunch at TGI Fridays in the shadow of the Arch. I never get to have a coctail at lunch. Hopefully I get called up cause the book I'm reading sucks...should known it was a rape story, its got my blood pumpin. Good to see other jurors at the bar... Cheers! ;-) My song now is Tennesee by Arrested Development. Takes too much battery to post lyrics.

Hey now Daydreamers it is a beautiful morning here in Saint Louis. I'm sitting here in the Jury pool looking out the window at the Gateway Arch. What a great weekend it was indeed! Thanks to rrrgrrr and a carrier pigeon who is headed back to da Buff for my package. Matt and I were so excited to get "show tapes" in the mail! Now we'll see if I get chosen to help decide someone's fate... Good morning, Worm your honor. The crown will plainly show  The prisoner who now stands before you Was caught red-handed showing feelings Showing feelings of an almost human nature;  This will not do. Call the schoolmaster! I always said he'd come to no good In the end your honor. If they'd let me have my way I could Have flayed him into shape. But my hands were tied, The bleeding hearts and artists Let him get away with murder. Let me hammer him today? Crazy,  Toys in the attic I am crazy,  Truly gone fishing. They must have taken my marbles away. Crazy, toys in the attic he is crazy. You little shit you're in it now, I hope they throw away the key. You should have talked to me more often  Than you did, but no! You had to go Your own way, have you broken any  Homes up lately? Just five minutes, Worm your honor,  Him and Me, alone. Baaaaaaaaaabe! Come to mother baby, let me hold you  In my arms. M'lud I never wanted him to Get in any trouble. Why'd he ever have to leave me? Worm, your honor, let me take him home. Crazy,  Over the rainbow, I am crazy, Bars in the window. There must have been a door there in the wall When I came in. Crazy, over the rainbow, he is crazy. The evidence before the court is Incontrovertible, there's no need for The jury to retire. In all my years of judging I have never heard before  Of someone more deserving Of the full penalty of law. The way you made them suffer, Your exquisite wife and mother, Fills me with the urge to defecate! "Hey Judge! Shit on him!" Since, my friend, you have revealed your  Deepest fear, I sentence you to be exposed before  Your peers. Tear down the wall!

Rise and Shine Sunshine Daydreamers! Get out of bed and play some Grateful Dead. Only 99 days to show time. Patch those sails and shine those rails! p.s. the countdown includes "the" day of the first show. "The" day deserves it's own countdown! Oh yeah!

I know this is a bizarre question since most of us are STILL Chicago orphans...but is anyone considering a trek out to Cali at the end of June if the "official" announcement is made??? Just wondering since there is so much time, effort, positive energy, etc., put into our Chicago soiree...that's where I want to be...but I'm just thinking...might be a fun trip, too? I mean, when is going to California ever a bad thing? Totally asking too much, right?

I had a hotel res at the Hilton in Santa Clara (literally adjacent to the parking lot of Levi's) but cancelled it yesterday. To have seen the look on my wife's face when I suggested a second Dead sojourn to compliment Chicago, well, let's just say a man knows when and when not to bark up a tree... I have a personal relationship with a Sr. Executive of a very large company HQ'ed down the street from the stadium. His company has a super-box there and we've already been in communication re the show and getting me some tickets. I think it seats 20. Absolutely zero guarantees, but if the shows are announced, I do believe I can/should be able to proxy some tix to our SD family here. They won't be comped, but guarantee won't be scalped. If anyone has a potential interest, please drop me an e-mail (not a PM here) with the subject line "Santa Clara tickets." This would classify as a "miracle" but hey now, it's still worth a shot :-)

Has anyone mentioned these yet? http://www.divvybikes.com I haven't used them myself, yet, but I plan to. Divvy Bikes offer bike rentals with stations all over town. You buy a 24 hour pass for $7, that allows you pick up a bike at one place, ride it to where you want to go, and drop it off when you get there. For as many 30-minute trips in a day as you wish. So, for less than $25 bucks, you've got wheels for the entire weekend! From their web site: Divvy is a new bike sharing system featuring thousands of bikes at hundreds of stations from Andersonville to Hyde Park, available 24/7, 365 days a year. Each station has a touchscreen kiosk, station map, and a docking system that releases bikes using a member key or ride code. Sounds perfect for getting around town in July.

Hi All, I am looking for an oppertunity to get a room closer to Soldier Field and/or Union Station. Someone posted that they had extra reservations they made right after the shows were announced. Interested in reservations that are either closer or easily accessed by CTA bus or train. Don't mind short travel, just looking to leave the driving to someone else. I can transfer reservation to my name and plastic card. PM me if you can help. Thanks
