    I had to go for a walk and get some air. The University proveds great green spaces as they recognize the human need for such. The trees in the breeze can usually make it ok. It has been too long since Matt and I went hiking, over a month now. It has been too hot and the woods are full of ticks and chiggers right now to even attempt it. I guess we will go to a local festival in September called Schwagstock, this is #46 for them. The schwag are a Dead tribute/cover band who do a really good job. The festival is at a river outfitter called Ozark outdoors. Also in September is the STL Cardinals Dead tribute night where you get a t-shirt with all the dates the Dead played in St. Louis. And on the front is a Stealie with the cardinals logo on it. Hopefully Dead and Co come to the Midwest. Maybe they will gain other members too... I started working in orthopedic oncology one year ago and I think it is starting to take its toll.

    Think it all will be east coast....like maybe 10 or 12 dates.... My sons band is opening for Cabinet in Buffalo this September at a club downtown.....gonna be quite the party... Definitely interested in the Susquehanna Breakdown, maybe check out Coopers Seafood as well....

    Yes, I agree Cabinet's good, I went to school with Jamie, the drummer. I have been seeing them for quite some time now. They also have their own festival Here on Montage Mt. in May, called the Susquehanna Breakdown. You should give it a whirl next spring. It's quite good! Like a Bluegrass festival feel to it. My daughter played at it the first two years representing Marley's Mission.I shot video of her as well as Cabinet's set and Terrapin Flyer's set last year, however, I haven't had a chance to synch the audio with the video yet. I know the Dead tickets aren't available yet, but that doesn't seem to bother the secondary market, as they already have them listed. I will try to obtain tickets for my family and keep Phil in my back pocket as plan B. I hope you are correct about the tour/ Wilkes Barre possibility. And Buffalo would be ideal for you. I did read where Bobby was quoted as saying it was late in the year to try to pull a tour together, but that's what they were going to try to do. I wonder how much will be East Coast?

    Tix are not available yet and to my knowledge, aside from private boxes there which are licensed, the only presale will be AmEx on 8/10... I did hear a ticket limit of 4 though, so I would not guarantee 5 in a row....Mayer is not my fave either, but think he would fit the bill for the show....me thinks if they tour though as reported they will hit Wilkes Barre and Buffalo as prior dead tours did....they are markets that will sell out.... Enjoy Peach Fest.....was there in 2011 and had a mighty time....ABB, Mule, Trigger Hippy and TTB in particular...but Cabinet was outstanding as a newcomer.......

    Stubhub already has the MSG tix listed for up to $5,000.00 each for 100 level. Holy smokes will it never end? I want to take my kids to this one as it is only a 2+ hour drive from home and my daughter specifically asked me to go, but that means 5 tickets together. I already have a pair of Phil tix for Halloween and the night before, so I thought about selling the Halloween tix and buying MSG for the entire family, and maybe just Jill and I going to Phil on the 30th. I hope I can get 5 MSG tickets together. I'm not a John Mayer fan and would actually rather see Phil, however my daughter heard about the show and asked me to take her. As she put it "John Mayer is my future husband, he just doesn't know it yet." Ahhh Teenagers,..I can hardly take her and not my two boys. I'm not looking forward to the spinning wheels and que's again!!!! Thanks for letting me vent. Sorry I've been out of touch as of late, just busy trying to get back to reality and now it appears I may be in for another dose of Hilarity! Good luck to any and all who may be trying to get tickets. Until then if anyone from the spreadsheet is going to Peachfest next weekend in Scranton, Pa. drop me a line. Yeah I'm a local. Stick with the 3 mentioned clubs and Rosas for blues.other spots a bit too "touristy". Myself , whichever day I don't go to FTW I will hit Fitzgeralds. There talent lineup is usually outstanding.

I know this is a bizarre question since most of us are STILL Chicago orphans...but is anyone considering a trek out to Cali at the end of June if the "official" announcement is made??? Just wondering since there is so much time, effort, positive energy, etc., put into our Chicago soiree...that's where I want to be...but I'm just thinking...might be a fun trip, too? I mean, when is going to California ever a bad thing? Totally asking too much, right?

I had a hotel res at the Hilton in Santa Clara (literally adjacent to the parking lot of Levi's) but cancelled it yesterday. To have seen the look on my wife's face when I suggested a second Dead sojourn to compliment Chicago, well, let's just say a man knows when and when not to bark up a tree... I have a personal relationship with a Sr. Executive of a very large company HQ'ed down the street from the stadium. His company has a super-box there and we've already been in communication re the show and getting me some tickets. I think it seats 20. Absolutely zero guarantees, but if the shows are announced, I do believe I can/should be able to proxy some tix to our SD family here. They won't be comped, but guarantee won't be scalped. If anyone has a potential interest, please drop me an e-mail (not a PM here) with the subject line "Santa Clara tickets." This would classify as a "miracle" but hey now, it's still worth a shot :-)

Suite tickets are awesome. Use to run Suites at MSG NYC. Remember very pricey. Around $600 per plus. Have to say the best way to see any show or event. Peace out.........

Has anyone mentioned these yet? http://www.divvybikes.com I haven't used them myself, yet, but I plan to. Divvy Bikes offer bike rentals with stations all over town. You buy a 24 hour pass for $7, that allows you pick up a bike at one place, ride it to where you want to go, and drop it off when you get there. For as many 30-minute trips in a day as you wish. So, for less than $25 bucks, you've got wheels for the entire weekend! From their web site: Divvy is a new bike sharing system featuring thousands of bikes at hundreds of stations from Andersonville to Hyde Park, available 24/7, 365 days a year. Each station has a touchscreen kiosk, station map, and a docking system that releases bikes using a member key or ride code. Sounds perfect for getting around town in July.

I plan on going to California if I can get tickets. I already made a hotel reservation close by and have frequent flyer miles to use to get out there. Just have to see how hard tickets are to get. Steve

Hi All, I am looking for an oppertunity to get a room closer to Soldier Field and/or Union Station. Someone posted that they had extra reservations they made right after the shows were announced. Interested in reservations that are either closer or easily accessed by CTA bus or train. Don't mind short travel, just looking to leave the driving to someone else. Wow, I was watching this bad boy and had emailed the seller 2x but never received a reply (I wanted a lower price). Two PL'1's (the $214.50 lower bowl seats) closed and sold for $1,825. 24/7 365, from what their web site says. Outlets all over town. p.s. we got a LAKEFRONT, not a waterfront. Jeez, next thing ya know, you'll be putting ketchup on yer hot dog. :-)
