I agree, it is a lot a money but TOTALLY WORTH IT! Especially for me since I am someone who is too young to have seen them play together. This is my first chance to see them all in their amazing glory. Keeping my fingers crossed that the Hubby will say yes!! He wasn't too happy when I told him the ticket prices so we will see how toinights conversation goes. :P

Money may be tight, ticket prices may be high but I'm so happy to see another show!!! Southerntam I'm still excited as the day I found out. I paid $100 to see the Allman brothers and won't do that again but the Dead, any ticket is a good ticket.

Okay southerntam, I shall think positive. Our nosebleed seats probably won't be so bad because we will be able to move pretty far up due to the fact that these venues will be half full. How's that for optimism!? I never thought in a million years that I would be disappointed about a Dead show, but I do feel partly disappointed. Good for anyone that can afford these floor prices, but I certainly cannot. I repeat the earlier sentiments about the $30 DSO shows. I am so, so sad right now.

As for me, I decided I was okay with buying a ticket to a show, one show, regardless of the price. It'll cost me about the same as what all the Grateful Dead tickets cost me when I was going to shows between '76-'84, when you consider what I made an hour then v. now and what the tickets went for then v. now. They may not be the Good Ol' Grateful Dead, but they are the best Dead you'll ever see now. Live music isn't cheap. It never really has been and that's why it's a special night when you can go out and hear your favorite bands play out. Times are tough though and I realize a lot of folks who were hoping to go to a show or two on this tour will have to to think twice about it. I'm only going to one and that's mainly due to the fact that it does cost more money than before and that I need to work extra hard right now to keep up with expenses. But don't blame the band for going for the kind of money that other classic rock and jazz bands have been making for most of the past 10-15 years. It costs a lot to produce an arena tour and any band that takes on this kind of an enterprise will charge as much as it takes to recoup their expenses and to make the kind of money they feel they can reasonably make, given the market If you can go and you want to, make it happen. I was so excited about hitting the Greensboro show, already had the hotel booked and everything (for cheaper than the ticket I might add). Now I don't have enought mone to buy the actual ticket! I am really going to have to sweet talk my husbind on this one. I know it will be worth the money, but coming up with the extra money is the problem. I'm sad that the economy has led everyone to having to put a second mortgage on their homes to see some shows, LOL!! I wish everyone the best of luck getting your tickets!! I'm sending good vibes out to everyone!! ~ Peace

Starting to feel like I'm the only happy one around here today...where's the love? We all started this thread so happy and excited and now it's turned to negativity because of ticket prices. Really....is this how we're going to do it? I, for one, am still excited and if I have to sit further back because I can't afford front row floor seats, then that's how it has to be and I"ll be just as happy - because I'm there. Again, let's think positive!!!!!

I was hoping to hit 2 or 3 shows, despite the strain that such a trip would put on my already overtaxed budget. But $100 a show? Who are they kidding? Now, I'm no fool - I understand the economic realities of putting on a show. It's not the '90s anymore, let alone the '60s. But as others have pointed out, many bands seem to be able to play similar venues at much lower prices. Anyway, I'll be taking a pass this year. Thanks for the memories boys, and do let me know if you're ever interested in playing for the average fan instead of the wealthy elite.

I can see paying $102.00 for good seats on the tour. From what I see I can wind up in nosebleed seats for that price. I looked, the $59.00 seating is behind stage. Most shows I go to have a mid-ground price. I was to try & go to a few show's but now I can only do one. Hey, Bobby & or Phil if you read this. How about a free ticket. Only kidding. Well Maybe.

You guys should KNOW that I want to go to a show, but I don't want to see you guys get busted and there's always millions of cops showing up when I go to a show unarmed and stuff. That's the way it was at Irvine Meadows a couple of years ago - and plus no one would sell me anything. Hey - the times they are a-changin'. Deadheads are sending me private messages now and are responding to my posts. Maybe in the near future I'll be able to go to a show and party in the parking lot like I used to (before anyone knew me really) and turn Deadheads on to classic Dead, my unique semi-altered Dead songs composed totally originally from me playing to make the songs exciting to earn money touring around . . . and of course originals by me. Look forward to seeing all of you!! Let's hope folks try and keep the music alive and here's hoping that Republicans don't throw us to the lions for being wierd.

And I only am saying something because you keep bringing it up but if I were to spend $100 I'd rather see the Dead once than DSO 4 times. "When the smoke has cleared she said, that's what she said to me. You're gonna want a bed to lay your head and a little sympathy"

...Why anybody would put a bumpersticker on their car that would call down "the local loser high school drop-out townie who used to be small but worked out in the gym and got a marine style haircut" cop to bust their chops for smiling on a cloudy day? I know, it's a free country, but I don't have the money to pay my lawyer to follow me around in a car on tour. In Amerika we have the best justice money can buy!

I have a funny story about Dead stickers-When I was younger(18-19) I had this bright yellow peice of crap dodge aspen 4 door that had a ridiculous amount of Dead/Zeppelin/Floyd stickers all over it (including the windshield) and I lived in N.H.-and I was driving home from Old Orchard Beach Jerry Garcia Band show Shroomin' my brains out(I know should'nt have been driving) This Maine State Trooper pulls us over and we were like "oh shit" + He goes-"You kids coming from the Jerry show?" and I was like-"yes sir" and he goes "what did he do for an encore?"I almost shit my pants-I dont remember what I said but I remember he said "sweet" he actually said "SWEET!!" Anyway then he goes-"You know your not supposed to have stickers on your front windows or wind shield." so l said-"sorry sir" and he goes-"Your lucky im a Deadhead, now take this shit box back to NH and dont come back!!!" guess its true-"We are everywhere"

grate story about tthe Maine head trooper who gave you a break. reminds me of a tale: I remember back in the 80's, I was working some shit job that had me driving up and down the NJ turn pike early am. way too much caffeine in my system and way too little sleep... in my ride, which had only ONE, subtle dead related roses sticker on the rear window, (you had to be a head to know what it was) I was cruisingg down the pike at about 70 miles an hour, shaving with my electric razor on the way to work... early am, before sunrise, I suddenly get hit by a flash of light. ok, keep going, trying to stay centered, I notice a car riding up on my right, and I get hit in the face with another flash of light. damn, a NJ state troop in his roller pulled up next to me, shining his mag light in my face, he drops back, and of course, puts on the red lights. I pull over, keeping my hands on the wheel. roll down the window, he walks up; his hand on his gun, big bright light in my eyes. "I was shaving, officer" I said. 'You're speeding, you are all over the road, AND you are shaving!!!??' "Yaa suh, I'm sorry. I'm going to work" 'shaving??!!' "yaa suh, sorry" (long, loud heart beats that rival Edgar Allan Poe eminating pounding my clavicals ) 'shaving??!! what would Jerry say?' and with a chuckle, he turned, got back in his roller and drove off. I let my pulse get back down to a normal beat before I eased off the shoulder and back into traffic. getting back into civilation now... an adventure. peace.

Hi all~ It's super late, so I haven't done the google search tonight to see if there are tickets left for the March shows in Cali...As it is, we are having issues with work, so I don't know if we can even go to the La, much less the Shoreline show...but still, I'm bundling up my sage and hoping for the miracle... Anybody know if people will be selling tickets in either of the lots if I don't get a chance to buy them earlier??? Also, anybody planning on selling anything??? Anybody planning on holding drum circles or other lot jams?? I remember when we went to the Dead in Nor Cal a couple of years ago, the dang horse police broke up the circle...it was such a bummer because I really wanted my hubby to get to experience a good one...Anyways...back in '93-'95, I never went with a ticket, I always had to save money until the very last minute, so part of the beauty of the whole thing was the lot and the luck that I would get if I was blessed enough to get in...course, that was a long time ago...it sure would be nice to go this year...I've been wanting to take my dad (who just loves music and was all hippied out in the 60's, but never really "got" the Dead...), as well as my youngest brother who is in his early 20's and who I think just might really like it... Any info. is appreciated... -Hopeful79 (Stacy)

Hate to put a damper on anyone-But im Bummin out right now-Just found out I cant go to the show because we just got an unexpected HUGE bill that is of a personal nature and there is NO WAY to get out of it and there is also NO WAY I can afford the tickets and the show- unless some crazy miracle happens between now and 4/18 like hitting the lottery! I am truly sad. Guess I will just have to hope for some east coast summer gigs or just settle for DSO at Hampton Beach in june :-(

Sorry to hear of your sitch...We are right there with you on that one!!! We're self employed in the construction industry, and it's just so crappy right now!! Bills just are no fun, especially, when you consider the whole idea of just losing the house and the credit cards/utilities;etc...and walking away from the rat race and doing some travelling, camping, dancing and overall, just living the life "outside of the rat race"...don't mind me...it's almost 3 am and I am still on the computer for work...tomorrow is going to be interesting with my whole two or three hours of sleep...! Who knows...me and my hubby just might end up rv'n it at one point and then we'd get to see tons of shows instead of working so much every day...I guess we'll see where the good Lord takes us... Anyways...good luck with the other shows that you are waitin on a miracle for and HAPPY ST. PATTY'S to another nite owl!

Now I just can't wait for Cinco De Mayo. I hope all the toils and snares you have run into can work themselves out, especially if you just can't wait to hear the boyz play. The Rothbury fest is a must, and the only summer tour dates confirmed. I will highly recommend going for 4 dayz if you can, it is one of the Greenest, Good Time, musician, dancin, and hippy fests I've ever been to. The special guests will amaze you. Let's get on with the show! ~peace~ _____________________________________________ Will you come with me? Once in awhile you can get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right!

Hi all, I'm sitting here in Ireland on Paddys day. I should be out having a few pints with my mates BUT I managed to draw the short straw in work and so I get to be on call :=). The only thing cheering me up is that I have 2 tix for the show in Washington. Its coing to be my first Dead show and I cant wait. Bringing my better half with me.mad to think just 3 yrs ago she was listening to hip hop kinda stuff. managed to bring her round via the last waltz, woodstock and festival express. Now she has a load of dead on her ipod and is excited about the concert as me(never thought id see the day) I was wondering what the rules are in relation to bringing cameras into the concert venue, Its very laid back in Ireland (in most venues). I dont want to end up having to que and then go back to the hotel. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers and happy paddys day to one and all.
