    started by Oroboros It was 30 years ago today, that the Dead set up to play their second show at Red Rocks. I taped the show in Omaha (2 days prior) and then these shows at Red Rocks. These are the audience tapes of those 3 nights in July '78 with my Nak 550. I had patched into another rig with an 8 ft mic stand (later discovering that the kind taper was Bob Wagner) that got his Sony mics well above the crowd. Recently the GRATE folks at Mouth of the Beast graciously re-mastered my master Maxell cassette tapes with their modern electronic wizardry, meticulous expertise as well as their obvious love for the Dead's music. Today I got a message from Lapilot who was about to vine these babies (before his Nero froze up). So let me do the honors. mailed it to boxen end of January, and it shows up at Canyon Critter beginning of March! just post like you just did to let people know this vine is now available. I bet someone jumps on this vine to check out the Grateful Dead's maiden voyage at Red Rocks, very shortly. Hey, how did these audience tapes sound to you anyway? I remember being slack-jawed during the Saturday show's Estimated Prophet >The Other One >Eyes Of The World >Drums >Space >Wharf Rat >Franklin's Tower >Sugar Magnolia AND then the Dead came back out to give us a 3 song encore with Terrapin Station >One More Saturday Night and we all were howling "Ahooooo Werewolves Of London" along with the band as they closed us out. It still gives me a massive grin recalling that show. The Truth is realized in an instant, the act is practiced step by step.

Nice to see this old vine still circulating. For those that don't have this vine, I recommend it. The recording of 7/5 is one of the BEST AUD's I have ever heard. And these are 3 of the top 20, if not top 10, shows of the year.

That when I re-seeded this, I no longer had Oroboros' original MOTBs. However the sources I have are pretty darn good =) "It's got no signs or dividing line and very few rules to guide"
