so i did get this but only the shn/flac disc. i got a pm from mike saying he forgot to send the wav cds. He said he would send them to me to keep it all together. its been awhile i just pm him to see what the deal is. i can make wav cds but it will take me a while. i just don't want anyone to mis out on the tunes.

a policy clarification

Since this vine includes some performances that are being released in the new "Wall of Sound" Road Trips set, I asked for a policy clarification on the "vineyard meta-topic" thread. In response, marye posted that "unless directed otherwise, which is always a possibility of course, I am not going to decree that vines must end because some of their tracks appear on compilations. We have retired full show vines with great ceremony when they came out as full-show releases, and I think this would apply to multi-show vines of which some entire shows were released." Thanks to marye for the info, and I'll be finishing up with this one tonight before passing it on to EDA. "Come with me or go alone, he's come to take his children home"

Just a few notes though. The discs are a bit flaky in the sense that in order to be read by my DVD drive they had to be ejected and reinserted on occasion. Also, as others have mentioned, a few files are damaged on one of the discs; specifically, the following tracks could not be copied from the disc and xACT could not decode them. 74-02-23: d2t07, d3t01, d3t06, d3t07 (all SHN) All that said, there is some killer stuff in these shows; for instance, the Playin' in the July show is amazing. Thus ends my maiden voyage into the mystical world of SHN/FLAC . . . I'm a veteran now! :-) "Come with me or go alone, he's come to take his children home"

Thats because those are shn/flac files . you could do either one or both things here, google Traders Little Helper , download it . then you can use that program to convert those files to wav or mp3. Or you could google Foobar 2000 , download it and with that program you can play the shn/flac files on your pc . check out the thread there is a link to Traders Little Helper and also a link for instructions on how TLH works. ( Come to think of it , there should be a link to Foobar 200 in the "new vines09", but I don`t know how to do that .) anyway , hope that helps you lilgr8fool.. Here is hopes for a pleasent weekend for all !!

I couldnt get tlh to work at all on my pc. I downloaded foobar and it seems to be alot more user friendly and it has more features than tlh. Ray Im about done with these cds so Ill send them out soon man. "The sky was yellow the sun was blue". hard_to_handle

From the info file------"Please enjoy this tasty tidbit from Louisville, KY June 18, 1974 courtesy of some anonymous sources, as well as the collective efforts of Darrin Sacks and David Hollister Here's what we have...Lineage: S:MR>1 cass>DAT>ZA2>SHN [revised from original info file] This version sounds nothing like the previously-circulating "sbd>reel>reel>dat" version and represents a MAJOR upgrade. The music actually comes to us from two different tapes with very similar qualities. However, one tape had about the first 1 minute and 40 seconds missing on Promised Land, so I spliced it in from the other tape. The other tape had some other problems, not to mention a good portion of the between song banter cut out, so needless to say, we used the good tape for that." The first minute and 48 seconds are a little tinny to my ears but it picks up after that. Peace Rick

More '74 had been burnt to DVD's, de-flaced onto CD's, packaged with notes and colorful artwork. Placed into a good (recycled) shipping box and is waiting for the Post Master to get back from lunch. (This is a small town and he comes and goes as he pleases.)Then it is off to operator and the rest of us viners. These shows are especially good (at least to my old ears). Enjoy them everyone.
