Our regularly scheduled programming but I just heard this great old song..... redone by the late Steve Marriott of Humble Pie fame..... The um um um um um song....... It needs to be heard....reading the lyrics does not do it justice.... Walking through the park It wasn't quite dark There was a man Sitting on a bench Out of the crowd As his head lowly bowed He just moaned and He made no sense He'd just go Um, um, um, um, um... I just couldn't help myself Yes, I was born With a curious mind I asked this man Just what did he mean When he moaned If he'd be so kind And he'd just go Um, um, um, um, um... Now that I've grown up And the woman I love She has gone Now that I'm a man I think I understand Sometimes everyone Must sing this song Listen to me sing Um, um, um, um, um... Can't you hear me, now Um, um, um, um, um... Everybody now Um, um, um, um, um... Can't you hear me, now Um, um, um, um, um... .....and now back to our regularly scheduled programming....a sub forum about "nothing"!

take all your overgrown infants away somewhere and build them a home a little place of their own the fletcher memorial home for incurable tyrants and kings and they can appear to themselves every day on closed circuit t.v. to make sure they're still real it's the only connection they feel "ladies and gentlemen, please welcome reagan and haig mr. begin and friend mrs. thatcher and paisley mr. brezhnev and party the ghost of mccarthy the memories of nixon and now adding colour a group of anonymous latin american meat packing glitterati" did they expect us to treat them with any respect they can polish their medals and sharpen their smiles, and amuse themselves playing games for a while boom boom, bang bang, lie down you're dead safe in the permanent gaze of a cold glass eye with their favourite toys they'll be good girls and boys in the fletcher memorial home for colonial wasters of life and limb is everyone in? are you having a nice time? now the final solution can be applied

How about this Wrighteous tune.... Us and Them And after all we're only ordinary men Me, and you God only knows it's not what we would choose to do Forward he cried from the rear and the front rank died And the General sat, as the lines on the map moved from side to side Black and Blue And who knows which is which and who is who Up and Down And in the end it's only round and round and round Haven't you heard it's a battle of words the poster bearer cried Listen son, said the man with the gun There's room for you inside "Well I mean, they're gonna kill ya, so like, if you give 'em a quick sh...short, sharp shock, they don't do it again. Dig it? I mean he got off light, 'cause I coulda given 'I'm a thrashin' but I only hit him once. It's only the difference between right and wrong innit? I mean good manners don't cost nothing do they, eh?" Down and Out It can't be helped but there's a lot of it about With, without And who'll deny that's what the fightings all about Get out of the way, it's a busy day And I've got things on my mind For want of the price of tea and a slice The old man died

Well there is certainly no shortage of stupid people! Learning from your mistakes takes wisdom and insight, which sadly most are lacking. Keeping with the theme: Generals gathered in their masses, just like witches at black masses. Evil minds that plot destruction, sorcerer of death's construction. In the fields the bodies burning, as the war machine keeps turning. Death and hatred to mankind, poisoning their brainwashed minds...Oh lord yeah! Politicians hide themselves away They only started the war Why should they go out to fight? They leave that role to the poor Time will tell on their power minds Making war just for fun Treating people just like pawns in chess Wait `till their judgement day comes, yeah! Now in darkness, world stops turning, ashes where the bodies burning. No more war pigs have the power, hand of god has struck the hour. Day of judgement, god is calling, on their knees the war pigs crawling. Begging mercy for their sins, Satan, laughing, spreads his wings...Oh lord, yeah!

Life is way too short for all of this senseless crap.... Problem as I see it is that people, a goodly subset of them at least are "stupid", they don't learn from the past or their own mistakes...while its job security for my profession it's a shame to see.... Sing it Bruuuuuuuuuuce!!!!! War What is it good for? Absolutely nothing Say it again, war What is it good for? Absolutely nothing, come on War is something that I despise For it means destruction of innocent lives And thousands words in mothers' cry When their son's go out to fight to give their lives War What is it good for? Absolutely nothing Say it again, war What is it good for? Absolutely nothing War It ain't nothing but a heartbreaker War Friend only to the undertaker War is the enemy of all mankind The thought of war it just blows my mind Handed down from generation to generation Induction, destruction, who wants to die? War What is it good for? Absolutely nothing Say it again, war What is it good for? Absolutely nothing War It ain't nothing but a heartbreaker War Friend only to an undertaker War has shattered many young men's dreams Made them disabled bitter and mean Life is too precious to be fighting wars each day War can't give life it can only take it away War What is it good for? Absolutely nothing Say it again, war What is it good for? Absolutely nothing Peace, love and understanding it all There must be some place for these things today They say we must fight to keep our freedom But Lord there's gotta be another way that's better than War What is it good for? Absolutely nothing Say it again, war What is it good for? Absolutely nothing, come on now War What is it good for? Absolutely nothing Say it again, war What is it good for? Nothing I'm talkin' about war

Unfortunately, during peaceful protests, bad actors come out with their own agendas. Happens everywhere. Matt and I went to the first peaceful protests last year before the fires so we could document the ordeal. I drove through crowds of people while filming and Matt took photos. We were not the least bit afraid. Parents and Children took part in the peaceful protests. There can never be enough good protesters when there are a few bad ones (and anarchists) But the area gets taken over at night by those who crawl the streets on a regular basis. The city itself is plagued by gun violence. I used to work in ortho trauma and saw all the gunshot victims that survived being shot. Why can't we all just get along indeed. Until the philosophy which hold one race superior And another Inferior Is finally And permanently Discredited And abandoned - Everywhere is war - Me say war. That until there no longer First class and second class citizens of any nation Until the colour of a man's skin Is of no more significance than the colour of his eyes - Me say war. That until the basic human rights Are equally guaranteed to all, Without regard to race - Dis a war. That until that day The dream of lasting peace, World citizenship Rule of international morality Will remain in but a fleeting illusion to be pursued, But never attained - Now everywhere is war - war. And until the ignoble and unhappy regimes that hold our brothers in Angola, In Mozambique, South Africa Sub-human bondage Have been toppled, Utterly destroyed - Well, everywhere is war - Me say war. War in the east, War in the west, War up north, War down south - War - war - Rumours of war. And until that day, The African continent Will not know peace, We Africans will fight - we find it necessary - And we know we shall win As we are confident In the victory Of good over evil - Good over evil, yeah! Good over evil - Good over evil, yeah! Good over evil - Good over evil, yeah!

Saw the Ferguson MO nonsense on the news, hope it hasn't affected you n Matt much....said they stormed the courthouse yesterday.... Why can't people just get along.... Speaking of planting things.... Homegrown's all right with me. Homegrown is the way it should be. Homegrown is a good thing. Plant that bell and let it ring. The sun comes up in the morning, Shines that light around. One day, without no warning, Things start jumping up from the ground. Well, homegrown's all right with me. Homegrown is the way it should be. Homegrown is a good thing. Plant that bell and let it ring.

Coffee is on...my boss. She bought me a cup o joe cause I'm such a great employee. And from Saint Louis Bread Co I get a free cup everyday this month...how cool is that? I love Panera Bread Co!!! Standing at the crossroads, trying to read the signs To tell me which way I should go to find the answer, And all the time I know, Plant your love and let it grow. [Chorus:] Let it grow, let it grow, Let it blossom, let it flow. In the sun, the rain, the snow, Love is lovely, let it grow. Looking for a reason to check out of my mind, Trying hard to get a friend that I can count on, But there's nothing left to show, Plant your love and let it grow. [Chorus] Time is getting shorter and there's much for you to do. Only ask and you will get what you are needing, The rest is up to you. Plant your love and let it grow. [Chorus 2x]

Back in the 80's, my dad took the entire video of my brother's wedding with the camera upside down. The last thing on the recording is his grumbly baritone growling ... "godammit, you mean I've had this fucking thing..." One of my life's true precious memories. Man oh man, I miss that man.
