@ He talked me into it...
TTB is where it's at! Diablo motors had a hell of a sale, downtown yesterday, Word got around, no money down, take years and years to pay. When I got there the lot was bare, but the salesman said hold on. For a little cash, I gotta two-tone Nash out behind the barn. If the Devil danced in empty pockets, he'd have a ball in mine. With a nine foot grand, a ten piece band and a twelve girl chorus line. I'd raise some loot in a three piece suit, give 'em one dance for a dime, If the Devil Danced in empty pockets, he'd have a ball in mine. Well he said friend it ain't the end let's see what I can do. If you own a home, I've got a loan, tailor made for you. Then above the racket a voice in my jacket said, "I'll tote the note." The devil made me do it, talked me in to it, and that was all she wrote. They say debt is a bottomless pit where the devil likes to play. I'd sell my soul to get out of this hole, but there'd be hell to pay. If the Devil danced in empty pockets, he'd have a ball in mine. With a nine foot grand, a ten piece band and a twelve girl chorus line. I'd raise some loot in a three piece suit, give 'em one dance for a dime, If the Devil Danced in empty pockets, he'd have a ball in mine

the cover version reminds me of line dancing class... I'm not responsible... you made me do it Well, way down yonder on the Chattahoochee It gets hotter than a hoochie coochie We laid rubber on the Georgia asphalt We got a little crazy but we never got caught. Down by the river on a Friday night Pyramid of cans in the pale moonlight Talkin' 'bout cars and dreamin' 'bout women Never had a plan, just a livin' for the minute. Yeah, way down yonder on the Chattahoochee Never knew how much that muddy water meant to me But I learned how to swim and I learned who I was A lot about livin' and a little 'bout love. Ya ha Well, we fogged up the windows in my old Chevy I was willin' but she wasn't ready So I settled for a burger and a grape sno-cone I dropped her off early but I didn't go home. Down by the river on a Friday night Pyramid of cans in the pale moonlight Talkin' 'bout cars and dreamin' 'bout women Never had a plan, just a livin' for the minute. ...got caught up in a Ry Cooder cover... Blame it all on my roots I showed up in boots And ruined your black tie affair The last one to know The last one to show I was the last one You thought you'd see there And I saw the surprise And the fear in his eyes When I took his glass of champagne And I toasted you Said, honey, we may be through But you'll never hear me complain 'Cause I've got friends in low places Where the whiskey drowns And the beer chases my blues away And I'll be okay I'm not big on social graces Think I'll slip on down to the oasis Oh, I've got friends in low places Well, I guess I was wrong I just don't belong But then, I've been there before Everything's all right I'll just say goodnight And I'll show myself to the door Hey, I didn't mean To cause a big scene Just give me an hour and then Well, I'll be as high As that ivory tower That you're livin' in 'Cause I've got friends in low places Where the whiskey drowns And the beer chases my blues away And I'll be okay I'm not big on social graces Think I'll slip on down to the oasis Oh, I've got friends in low places [3rd Verse:] I guess I was wrong I just don't belong But then, I've been there before And everything is alright I'll just say goodnight And I'll show myself to the door I didn't mean to cause a big scene Just wait 'til I finish this glass Then sweet little lady I'll head back to the bar And you can kiss my ass Names have been changed to protect the innocent.....

Same here but in a small town. The lines are clearly drawn and it is literally the train tracks dividing North from South. I even lived on the far east side which was the farthest from the good parts of town. You learn a lot that way. And how to be self reliant. Baby, ev'rything is all right, uptight, out of sight. Baby, ev'rything is all right, uptight, out of sight. I'm a poorman's son, from across the railroad tracks, The only shirt I own is hangin' on my back, But I'm the envy of ev'ry single guy Since I'm the apple of my girl's eye. When we go out stepping on the town for a while My money's low and my suit's out of style, But it's all right if my clothes aren't new Out of sight because my heart is true. She says baby ev'rything is alright, uptight, out of sight. Baby, ev'rything is alright, uptight, clean out of sight. She's a pearl of a girl, I guess that's what you might say, I guess her folks brought her up that way, The right side of the tracks, she was born and raised In a great big old house, full of butlers and maids. She says no one is better than I, I know I'm just an average guy, No football hero or smooth Don Juan, Got empty pockets, you see I'm a poorman's son. She says give her the things that money can buy But I'll never, never make my baby cry, And it's all right, what I can't do, Out of sight because my heart is true, She says baby ev'rything is alright, uptight, clean out of sight. Baby, ev'rything is alright, uptight, clean out of sight. Baby, ev'rything is alright, uptight, ah ah ah ah, Baby, ev'rything is alright, uptight, clean out of sight. Baby, ev'rything is alright, uptight, clean out of sight.

That was, if you missed it. She was kind this month. So... Mahalo nui loa Uncle RRRGRRR. Your singing voice is fantastic! Thank you :) Tami it sounds like you are inspired and fired about the games? I'll ask around, but in the meantime maybe run with what you have? I'm thinking only one or two. We might not get to them. We might be too busy snacking and running around talking to each other FACE TO FACE. I'm going to be silly with it. Oooh. What about SD trivia. "Which SDer when to ___ ___ State and graduated ___ ___ laude?" etc. Oof. That would take some information gathering... time. *** So. I am looking for a lower tier GDTSTOO ticket. One for any or all nights. I love my no-view seats. It gets me in the building, and I'll always remember the moment Ticketmaster said "You're going to the Grateful Dead!" Because of that moment I TREASURE my sweet sweet no-view seats. I have abstained from selling EVEN ONE of my tickets for over face value, much less for several hundred dollars as someone close to me suggested I do in March (they don't know). That way I would have been able to afford plane tickets or acomodations (sp). Rent, etc. "I can't do that" I said. Still. I would part with and sell at face value one of my tickets that I am grateful for, if I could get a golden ticket for one night or two at one of the lower prices. That would be alright! Just. You know. Putting it out there. I did finally send good 'ol E an email. Throw my hat in the ring. It's a little late but you never know. You just never can tell... Alright. Back to selling stuff on ebay! Love Stella. ps. How the frack do you spell "accomodations"??

Don't worry, be happy. I think the GDTS folks are working hard and getting out "batches" of emails and tickets. I'm thinking everyone will hear something over the next week or 2 rather than a single broadcast announcement (until all is said and done of course). Not that my word is any consolation and won't keep you from stalking your mailman everyday.

Games people play you take it or you leave it things that they say, aren't right If I promised you the moon and the stars would you believe me? Games people play in the middle of the night Although I am not big on party games, I have no where else to be than at the pic-a-nic until we head over to Soldier, so whatever we do to pass the time and have fun, I'm all for it. Should we wear all nametags? Seems kinda cheesy but how else are we gonna know who's who? A stand-up and speak session? Hi, my name is Mike....I am a deadhead and I miss Jerry...
