I need a brand new friend who doesn't bother me
I need a brand new friend who doesn't trouble me
I need someone, yeah, who doesn't need me
I see the bathroom is clear
I think that somebody's near
I'm sure that someone is following me, oh yeah
Why did you throw the Jack of Hearts away?
Why did you throw the Jack of Hearts away?
It was the only card in the deck that I had left to play
And I'll say it again, I need a brand new friend
And I'll say it again, I need a brand new friend
And I'll say it again, I need a brand new friend, the end

Well, I just got into town about an hour agoTook a look around, see which way the wind blow
Where the little girls in their Hollywood bungalows
Are you a lucky little lady in the City of Light
Or just another lost angel?
City of Night, City of Night,
City of Night, City of Night, woo, c'mon
L.A. Woman, L.A. Woman
L.A. Woman Sunday afternoon
L.A. Woman Sunday afternoon
L.A. Woman Sunday afternoon
Drive through your suburbs
Into your blues, into your blues, yeah
Into your blue-blue Blues
Into your blues, oh, yeah
I see your hair is burnin'
Hills are filled with fire
If they say I never loved you
You know they are a liar
Drivin' down your freeway
Midnight alleys roam
Cops in cars,
The topless bars
Never saw a woman...
So alone, so alone
So alone, so alone
Motel, money, murder, madness
Let's change the mood from glad to sadness
Mr. Mojo Risin', Mr. Mojo Risin'

@Hockey_John.....
welcome back our friend to the show that never ends....this here is the bus...the heart of the operation....the website is the brains....need both to function fully, completely....
Holly came from Miami FLA...she is our driver...she's off for the weekend and we are on autopilot....got an 85# Great Pyrenees Yellow Lab mix riding shotgun...Sgt. Pupper is his name Music is his game but you can call him Sarge......I sleep in the back with the dirty hippies...but can be roused fairly easily...feel free to partake in what we got...and what we gots a lot....feel free to sing and dance...rules are no rules but confidentiality...that we have...the Mayor has your tin foil hat....essential for stealth....
So glad you made it!!!!!!
Heart and Brains
An intimate connection between the two,To the benefit of all.
Our roots are our grounding.
@grounding
I finally took off my blue glitter nail polish, today. *sigh*
@Bobby Vinton.....
She wore Blue VelvetBluer than velvet was the night
Softer than satin was the light
From the stars
She wore blue velvet
Bluer than velvet were her eyes
Warmer than May her tender sighs
Love was ours
Ours a love I held tightly
Feeling the rapture grow
Like a flame burning brightly
But when she left gone was the glow of
Blue Velvet
But in my heart there'll always be
Precious and warm a memory through the years
And I still can see Blue Velvet through my tears
and blue glitter nail polish....
Good night Geo and Goodnight Irene....see you both in my dreams....
Don't tell me this bus ain't got no heart....
Watching the sun rise and reflecting on nothing in particular this morning.
Took Lainie and some friends to see History of the Eagles tour last night at local hockey arena...
Two sets over 3 hours, Bernie Leadon back picking banjo...started promising, Frey and Henley playing acoustic sitting on amps....Saturday Night and Train Leaves Here This Morning....
Exceptional sound, exhaustive setlist, great light show....
They gave nods to Jackson Browne, Richie Furay, JD Souther and Linda Ronstadt....
Walking back to the car, Elaine and friends thanked me and raved about the show....
They asked what I thought....I replied they are very polished, Elaine who's known me for 34 years, said why didn't you like it....I said, cause they went through the motions, I didn't feel it...they've go no heart...
The exact same response I gave her following the Stones show last Saturday....
she said...what did you expect, the Grateful Dead....
Yes....the Dead changed my life, my friends, my life philosophy and my appreciation of music and my expectations...
I have become a music snob...
I am a Deadhead and I miss Jerry....
coffee is on....
@our heart, soul and spirit
It is remarkable, that many of us share those thoughts...after the GD splashed their mystical musical miracles on our consciousnesses, no other band would do.
Life's philosophy, the journey, developing a creed to live life by, whether a mission, a way of life, whatever it may be...a good dose of the Boy's music and friends and family close by makes it all that much better.
You are in fine company, Sir Briver, and we salute you and your spirit!
@correction....
Just to clarify my current role in this journey of life ....
As of July 6th, I have become briver emeritus......
The torch has been passed down a generation, just like Phil n Friends and Billy and the Kids....
Ellie Mae is steering....I offer navigational support....
Allowing me to watch life go by....
Oh look, a squirrel!
@ the rockin' chair
Sure, that's what they all say....
Emeritus Briver it is, then! Carry on, and with Lainie at your side, your family dancing along and Ellie Mae twirling the dial and laying out tunes, it oughta be just fine.
As a mark of respect and Sunday good will, would you care to listen to a bit of the ABB this am? My KDED remote control wrist watch has been converted to solar power and it's summertime!
Lord, I was born a ramblin' man,
Tryin' to make a livin' and doin' the best I can.
And when it's time for leavin',
I hope you'll understand,
That I was born a ramblin' man.
My father was a gambler down in Georgia,
And he wound up on the wrong end of a gun.
And I was born in the back seat of a Greyhound bus
Rollin' down highway 41.
Lord, I was born a ramblin' man,
Tryin' to make a livin' and doin' the best I can.
And when it's time for leavin',
I hope you'll understand,
That I was born a ramblin' man.
I'm on my way to New Orleans this mornin',
Leaving out of Nashville, Tennessee,
They're always having a good time down on the bayou, Lord
Them Delta women think the world of me.
Lord, I was born a ramblin' man,
Tryin' to make a livin' and doin' the best I can.
And when it's time for leavin',
I hope you'll understand,
That I was born a ramblin' man.
@I will see your Dickey....
....and double the Betts.....
Walk along the river, sweet lullaby, it just keeps on flowing,
It don't worry 'bout where it's going, no, no.
Don't fly, mister blue bird, I'm just walking down the road,
Early morning sunshine tell me all I need to know
[CHORUS:]
You're my blue sky, you're my sunny day.
Lord, you know it makes me high when you turn your love my way,
Turn your love my way, yeah.
Good old sunday morning, bells are ringing everywhere.
Goin to Carolina, it won't be long and I'll be there
sunday, Sunday, SUNDAY !!
Your local rock group down the street Is trying hard to learn this song
To serenade the weekend squire
Just came out to mow his lawn
Another Pleasant Valley Sunday
Charcoal burnin' everywhere
Rows of houses that are all the same
And no one seems to care
See Mrs. Gray she's proud today
Because her roses are in bloom
And Mr. Green he's so serene
He's got a TV in every room
Another Pleasant Valley Sunday
Here in status symbol land
Mothers complain about how hard life is
And the kids just don't understand
Creature comfort goals they only numb my soul
And make it hard for me to see
My thoughts all seem to stray to places far away
I need a change of scenery
Ta ta ta

@it's Festivus for the rest of us......
Never on a Sunday when the church is full of peopleAnd the bells are ringing in the steeple, la la....
Oh, you can kiss me on a Monday
A Monday, a Monday is very very good
Or you can kiss me on a Tuesday
A Tuesday, a Tuesday in fact I wish you would
Or you can kiss me on a Wednesday
A Thursday, a Friday, and Saturday is best
But never never on a Sunday
A Sunday, a Sunday 'cause that's my day of rest
Come anyday and you'll be my guest
Anyday you say but my day of rest
Just name the day that you like the best
Only stay away on my day of rest
You can kiss me on a cool day
A hot day, a wet day which ever one you choose
Or try to kiss me on a grey day
A May day, a pay day and see if I refuse
And you make it on a bleake day
A freak day, a week day why you can be my guest
But never never on a Sunday
A Sunday's the one day I need a day to rest
Just name the day that you like the best
Only stay away on my day of rest
Never on a Sunday when the church is full of people
And the bells are ringing in the steeple, la la....
Oh you can kiss me on a Monday
Monday, Monday's very good
Or you can kiss me on a Tuesday
Tuesday and I wish you would
Or you can kiss me on a Wednesday
Thursday, Friday and Saturday is best
But never never on a Sunday
Sunday, Sunday 'cause that's my day of rest
So goodnight Irene goodnight......
I'll see you in my dreams......
@Harry "They Don't Make Sunday"
-Why not?-Because of God.
Sally should have asked The Same Chase what say about all that.
Oh thank God
Thank God I'm rollin'
Thank God I'm soarin'
Straight on down the road
And thank God
thank God I'm still goin'
I still got some tread on this soul and
I still got some miles to go
I gotta penny to my name that I haven't spent yet
If it ain't there tomorrow that would be a safe bet
but I got some big dreams at the end of this road
waitin' for me on the beaches down in Mexico
I got no where to be so I might stay for a while
and the devil's singin' with me with a Senorita smile
Oh thank God
Thank God I'm rollin'
Thank God I'm soarin'
Straight on down the road
And thank God
thank God I'm still goin'
I still got some tread on this soul and
I still got some miles to go
I gotta party in my pocket and a tune in my head
and from time to time I get to share a woman bed
I would say I'm pretty lucky I wouldn't say that I'm poor
with this face made of silver and a body made of gold
If you could lend me a prayer man I could lend you a hand
If these women don't kill me I will die a lucky man
Oh thank God
Thank God I'm rollin'
Thank God I'm soarin'
Straight on down the road
And thank God
thank God I'm still goin'
I still got some tread on this soul and
I still got some miles to go
Oh thank God
Thank God I'm rollin'
Thank God I'm soarin'
Straight on down the road
And thank God
thank God I'm still goin'
I still got some tread on this soul and
I still got some miles to goooh ooh woahhooooh Whoa!
Thank God!
Thank God I'm rollin'!
Thank God I'm soarin'!
Straight on down the road!!!
And thank God!
thank God I'm still go-in'!
I still got some tread on this soul and
I still got some miles to go
Oh thank God
Thank God I'm rollin'
Thank God I'm soarin'
Straight on down the ro-oad
And thank God
thank God I'm still goin'
I still got some tread on this soul and
I still got some miles to go
Coffee is on! Up and at 'em!!!
“Shining like a diamond, rolling with the dice, standing on the ledge, I show the wind how to fly. When the world gets in my face, I say, have a nice day. Have a nice day.”
This song is guaranteed to put a smile on your face and make you want slap your colleagues’ backs. So go ahead and spread the Monday merriness (you could just ‘mistakenly’ forward this link to everyone in the office).
Monday doesn’t have to erase the weekends so don’t worry. Friday will be here soon enough. You don’t have to reserve your passion for the weekends. Do what you love every day. Live your life and your dreams so much that when a new week starts you shout with glee: “Oh my gosh, it’s Monday!!”
Bonus: Extra Ways to Feel Better on Your Monday:
Prepare the night before: Get your clothing out and your hair done. Make a note (mental or physical) of what needs to be done.
Get enough rest: Don't do anything too hectic or strenuous on Sunday. Have a low-key evening and get enough sleep!
Have something fun to look forward to: A place to go with a group of friends at lunch or something indulgent you don't normally have. Just don't overdo it, you probably use the weekends for that.
Try some natural energy boosters: Such as no-bake oats bars, kiwi or two tablespoons of oat straw extract added to your coffee. Practice breathing techniques, laughing, getting some sun, and drinking more water.
@Have something fun to look forward to

Honey, we could be in Kansas
By time the snow begins to thaw
They say the darkest hour
Is right before the dawn
They say the darkest hour
Is right before the dawn
But you wouldn't know it by me
Every day's been darkness since you been gone
Little rooster crowin'
There must be something on his mind
Little rooster crowin'
There must be something on his mind
Well, I feel just like that rooster
Honey, ya treat me so unkind
Well, I struggled through barbed wire
Felt the hail fall from above
Well, I struggled through barbed wire
Felt the hail fall from above
Well, you know I even outran the hound dogs
Honey, you know I've earned your love
Look at the sun
Sinkin' like a ship
Look at the sun
Sinkin' like a ship
Ain't that just like my heart, babe
When you kissed my lips?
@start me up ....and never stop
Actually not a bad Monday....at allGood morning Kristine....
You look well rested....
I'm searching for phrases
To sing your praises
I need to tell someone
It's soon after midnight
And my day has just begun
A gal named Honey
Took my money
She was passing by
It's soon after midnight
And the moon is in my eye
My heart is cheerful
It's never fearful
I've been down on the killing floors
I'm in no great hurry
I'm not afraid of your fury
I've faced stronger walls than yours
Charlotte's a harlot
Dresses in scarlet
Mary dresses in green
It's soon after midnight
And I've got a date with the fairy queen
They chirp and they chatter
What does it matter?
They lie and they dine in their blood
Two timing slim
Who's ever heard of him?
I'll drag his corpse through the mud
It's now or never
More than ever
When I met you I didn't think you'd do
It's soon after midnight
And I don't want nobody but you
run for the roses
gotta water my flowers...then, write specs. Ugh, writing specs. Ugh. I'm a doer, not a director. But, this project demands it. Ugh. I'm already a week behind. Did I say "Ugh"?
Should probably stay away this week, to keep my fuzzy little brain on track.
Have a lovely day, and watch out for those fairies. They can be oh, so mischievous...hide your pencils, unplug your mouse. And then, they just sit there and giggle at you!
@ Monday's Mischievous Meese Making Merry Melodies
...or mices...it's all their fault. Fairies riding butterflies are the best...they catch the last notes of a jam, swoosh out over time and space, and alight in the strangest of places. In my case, right smack dab in front of my work email, time-sheet, invoice, contract or project file. Then I hear that wisp of melody, and unseen forces require I pull up You-tube and cavort with whomever insists on supporting my daydream.
If they..the fairies, butterflies, meese and you would behave, then that little cursor arrow wouldn't hop from site to site, and we would all get our tasks done, whether centered on work, play or daydreaming.
However, without musical melodies massing around us, our Mondays would be that much more droll and gray-toned, so thank you wayward meese everywhere.
And those who readily spin the radio dial, keep the platters spinning and the tunes a coming. We working stiffs, meandering minstrels and minstrelettes and..look a butterfly...deadheads near and far are always willing to hum along and/or whistle as we work.
Reminds me of a story...
@The Fairie Queen....
LO I the man, whose Muse whilome did maske, As time her taught, in lowly Shepheards weeds,
Am now enforst a far vnfitter taske,
For trumpets sterne to chaunge mine Oaten reeds,
And sing of Knights and Ladies gentle deeds;
Whose prayses hauing slept in silence long,
Me, all too meane, the sacred Muse areeds
To blazon broad emongst her learned throng:
Fierce warres and faithfull loues shall moralize my song.
Helpe then, O holy Virgin chiefe of nine,
Thy weaker Nouice to performe thy will,
Lay forth out of thine euerlasting scryne
The antique rolles, which there lye hidden still,
Of Faerie knights and fairest Tanaquill,
Whom that most noble Briton Prince so long
Sought through the world, and suffered so much ill,
That I must rue his vndeserued wrong:
O helpe thou my weake wit, and sharpen my dull tong.
What in hell is a dull tong...
@ Sir Lance a Lot
Good morning and a happy Monday to all of you shiny happy people this Stormy day. Apparently it always "looks like rain" in STL now, we've turned into Seattle.
I have no earthly idea what a dull tong is...
Queen of Light took her bow, And then she turned to go,
The Prince of Peace embraced the gloom, And walked the night alone.
Oh, dance in the dark of night, Sing to the morning light.
The dark Lord rides in force tonight, And time will tell us all.
Oh, throw down your plow and hoe, Rest not to lock your homes.
Side by side we wait the might of the darkest of them all.
I hear the horses' thunder down in the valley below,
I'm waiting for the angels of Avalon, waiting for the eastern glow.
The apples of the valley hold, The seeds of happiness,
The ground is rich from tender care, Repay, do not forget, no, no.
Dance in the dark of night, sing to the morning light.
The apples turn to brown and black, The tyrant's face is red.
Oh war is the common cry, Pick up your swords and fly.
The sky is filled with good and bad that mortals never know.
Oh, well, the night is long the beads of time pass slow,
Tired eyes on the sunrise, waiting for the eastern glow.
The pain of war cannot exceed the woe of aftermath,
The drums will shake the castle wall, the ring wraiths ride in black, Ride on.
Sing as you raise your bow, shoot straighter than before.
No comfort has the fire at night that lights the face so cold.
Oh dance in the dark of night, Sing to the morning light.
The magic runes are writ in gold to bring the balance back. Bring it back.
At last the sun is shining, The clouds of blue roll by,
With flames from the dragon of darkness, the sunlight blinds his eyes.
@Hark! A Damsel in Distress....
Good morning Miami and King George.....
Hopefully Katniss can focus on tasks at hand.....it's all about pace and balance....work hard, play hard....
Sarge hand me my chain mail armour, my staff and shield....
there's some rescuing to be done.....
Hi Ho Silver...Away!,,,,
Is there nothing I can say
Nothing I can do
To change your mind
I'm so in love with you
You're too deep in
You can't get out
You're just a poor girl in a rich man's house
Yeah, baby, I'm crying over you
Don't you know promises were never made to keep?
Just like the night, dissolve in sleep
I'll be your savior, steadfast and true
I'll come to your emotional rescue
I'll come to your emotional rescue
Yeah, the other night, crying
Crying baby, yeah I'm crying
Yeah I'm like a child baby
I'm like a child baby
Child yeah, I'm like a child, like a child
Like a child
You think you're one of a special breed
You think that you're his pet Pekinese
I'll be your savior, steadfast and true
I'll come to your emotional rescue
I'll come to your emotional rescue
I was dreaming last night
Last night I was dreaming
How you'd be mine, but I was crying
Like a child, yeah, I was crying
Crying like a child
You will be mine, mine, mine, mine, mine, all mine
You could be mine, could be mine
Be mine, all mine
I come to you, so silent in the night
So stealthy, so animal quiet
I'll be your savior, steadfast and true
I'll come to your emotional rescue
I'll come to your emotional rescue
Yeah, you should be mine, mine, whew
Yes, you could be mine
Tonight and every night
I will be your knight in shining armour
Coming to your emotional rescue
You will be mine, you will be mine, all mine
You will be mine, you will be mine, all mine
I will be your knight in shining armour
Riding across the desert with a fine Arab charger
@ knight in shining armour
So you say the boys are just going through the motions? The Eagles and the Stones? That's too bad cause they have lots of fans who come to see their tour who deserve more than that.
At least our Boys gave it all they had, it seems...
If there are still asses in seats they have an obligation to make em stand up and dance!
Maybe it's time for them to give up the ghost and have their own Fare Well...
I was driving home early Sunday morning through Bakersfield
Listening to gospel music on the colored radio station
And the preacher said, "You know you always have the
Lord by your side"
And I was so pleased to be informed of this that I ran
Twenty red lights in his honor
Thank you Jesus, thank you lord
I had an arrangement to meet a girl, and I was kind of late
And I thought by the time I got there she'd be off
She'd be off with the nearest truck driver she could find
Much to my surprise, there she was sittin in the corner
A little bleary, worse for wear and tear
Was a girl with far away eyes
So if you're down on your luck
And you can't harmonize
Find a girl with far away
And if you're downright disgusted
And life ain't worth a dime
Get a girl with far away eyes
Well the preacher kept right on saying that all I had to do was send
Ten dollars to the church of the sacred bleeding heart of Jesus
Located somewhere in Los Angeles, California
And next week they'd say my prayer on the radio
And all my dreams would come true
So I did, the next week, I got a prayer with a girl
Well, you know what kind of eyes she got
So if you're down on your luck
I know you all sympathize
Find a girl with far away eyes
And if you're downright disgusted
And life ain't worth a dime
Get a girl with far away eyes
@Asses and seats....
don't get me wrong.....Stones and Eagles were both 5 star productions, but having seen them both for the first time in 1973 and 1975 respectively, I remember how it was, I remember how I was....and how I am now...and how THEY are now....both performances were choreographed and note for note flawless....I prefer the human element, mistakes, smiles and all....but people did dance....for $500 a pop people should dance...lot of orchestration and off stage overdubs....some karaoke perhaps....for Mick at age 70 or so, weighing all of dare I say a buck forty....able to sing Sympathy for the Devil without getting winded after running full speed down a 70 foot catwalk.....he is either the Second Coming or Houdini....but I digress.....Keith Richards had some work. He looks 50..... And his ability to play notes without touching the strings was miraculous....to say the least.....
The Stones sold out Ralph Wilson Stadium 70,000+ $125-500 per ticket, Eagles First Niagara Center sell out 18,000 at $75-$169.....
Great spectacles and both would make for a successful stint in Las Vegas....ala Garth Brooks, Celine Dion and Santana....
btw Santana at the Joint at Hard Rock in Vegas was amazing......changed up setlists nightly....
Give me Freddie Mercury in 1974......Queen at the Beacon Theater in NY.....raw energy, passion....
Fear me you lords and lady preachers
I descend upon your earth from the skies
I command your very souls you unbelievers
Bring before me what is mine
The seven seas of rhye
Can you hear me you peers and privvy counsellors
I stand before you naked to the eyes
I will destroy any man who dares abuse my trust
I swear that you'll be mine
The seven seas of rhye
Sister - I live and lie for you
Mister - do and I'll die
You are mine I possess you
I belong to you forever
Storm the master-marathon I'll fly through
By flash and thunder-fire I'll survive
Then I'll defy the laws of nature and come out alive
Then I'll get you
Be gone with you - you shod and shady senators
Give out the good, leave out the bad evil cries
I challenge the mighty titan and his troubadours
And with a smile
I'll take you to the seven seas of rhye
@ Maybe it's just me...
But if I dont get a little verklempt at a show then the band isn't doing it right.
Cried @ Tool, Red Hot Chili Peppers, John Foggerty, Australian Pink Floyd, etc.
If the band isn't passionate how can the crowd be?
So this next one is comin out of left field but here goes...
Is it too much to ask
I want a comfortable bed that won't hurt my back
Food to fill me up
And warm clothes and all that stuff
Shouldn't I have this
Shouldn't I have this
Shouldn't I have all of this, and
Passionate kisses
Passionate kisses, whoa oh oh
Passionate kisses from you
Is it too much to demand
I want a full house and a rock and roll band
Pens that won't run out of ink
And cool quiet and time to think
Shouldn't I have this
Shouldn't I have this
Shouldn't I have all of this, and
Passionate kisses
Passionate kisses, whoa oh oh
Passionate kisses from you
Do I want too much
Am I going overboard to want that touch
I shout it out to the night
"Give me what I deserve, 'cause it's my right"
Shouldn't I have this (shouldn't I)
Shouldn't I have this (shouldn't I)
Shouldn't I have all of this, and
Passionate kisses
Passionate kisses, whoa oh oh
Passionate kisses from you
Passionate kisses
Passionate kisses, whoa oh oh
Passionate kisses from you
@its not just you.....
Mary Chapin Carpenter has always been a personal fave....songs from the heart and energy.....
This one goes out to stormy St Louis.....
Holly n Matt....get on your dancing shoes......
Cornbread and crawfish are on the house, ooooh an Abita Purple Haze to quench the thirst....thank you very much....
Hit it Sarge....
Saturday night and the moon is out
I wanna head on over to the Twist and Shout
Find a two-step partner and a Cajun beat
When it lifts me up I'm gonna find my feet
Out in the middle of a big dance floor
When I hear that fiddle wanna beg for more
Gonna dance to a band from a-Lou'sian' tonight
Well I never have wandered down to New Orleans
Never have drifted down a bayou stream
But I heard that music on the radio
And I swore some day I was gonna go
Down Highway 10 past Lafayette
To Baton Rouge and I won't forget
To send you a card with my regrets
'Cause I'm never gonna come back home
Saturday night and the moon is out
I wanna head on over to the Twist and Shout
Find a two-step partner and a Cajun beat
When it lifts me up I'm gonna find my feet
Out in the middle of a big dance floor
When I hear that fiddle wanna beg for more
Gonna dance to a band from a-Lou'sian' tonight
They got a alligator stew and a crawfish pie
A golf storm blowin' into town tonight
Livin on the delta's quite a show
They got hurricane parties every time it blows
And here up north it's a cold cold rain
And there ain't no cure for my blues today
Except when the paper says: Beausoleil is coming into town
Baby let's go down
Saturday night and the moon is out
I wanna head on over to the Twist and Shout
Find a two-step partner and a Cajun beat
When it lifts me up I'm gonna find my feet
Out in the middle of a big dance floor
When I hear that fiddle wanna beg for more
Gonna dance to a band from a-Lou'sian' tonight
Bring your mama, bring your papa, bring your sister too
They got lots of music and lots of room
When they play you a waltz from 1910
You gonna feel a little bit young again
Well you learned to dance with your rock'n'roll
You learned to swing with a do-si-do
But you learn to love at the fais-so-do
When you hear a little Jolie Blon
Saturday night and the moon is out
I wanna head on over to the Twist and Shout
Find a two-step partner and a Cajun beat
When it lifts me up I'm gonna find my feet
Out in the middle of a big dance floor
When I hear that fiddle wanna beg for more
Gonna dance to a band from a-Lou'sian' tonight
@ Let's Road Trip to NOLA!
Ok that song put me in the mood...If dis dus aint headed to NYC, lets road trip down to New Orleans.
Mississippi in the middle of a dry spell
Jimmy Rogers on the Victrola up high
Mama's dancin' with baby on her shoulder
The sun is settin' like molasses in the sky
The boy could sing, knew how to move, everything
Always wanting more, he'd leave you longing for
Black velvet and that little boy's smile
Black velvet with that slow southern style
A new religion that'll bring ya to your knees
Black velvet if you please
Up in Memphis the music's like a heatwave
White lightning, bound to drive you wild
Mama's baby's in the heart of every school girl
"Love me tender" leaves 'em cryin' in the aisle
The way he moved, it was a sin, so sweet and true
Always wanting more, he'd leave you longing for
Black velvet and that little boy's smile
Black velvet with that slow southern style
A new religion that'll bring ya to your knees
Black velvet if you please
Every word of every song that he sang was for you
In a flash he was gone, it happened so soon, what could
You do?
Black velvet and that little boy's smile
Black velvet with that slow southern style
A new religion that'll bring ya to your knees
Black velvet if you please
Black velvet and that little boy's smile
Black velvet with that slow southern style
A new religion that'll bring ya to your knees
Black velvet if you please
If you please, if you please, if you please
@road trip.....
Saddle up the Palomino....we can get a time share there in the Garden district and take trolleys around town...my fave is Frenchman Street and the local blues n jazz clubs...
Spotted Cat is hip but I prefer the traditional ....Snug Harbor....Preservation Hall or Balcony Music Club.....
Saw my man Allen Toussaint there....
He's singin this song for you......
Well, there's a certain girl I've been in love with a long, long time
What's her name? I can't tell you (Ahh...)
I can't reveal her name until she's mine
What's her name? I can't tell you (Ahh...)
I've tried to make her time and time again
Still we're introduced as nothing but friends
And there's a certain girl I've been in love with a long, long time
What's her name? I can't tell you (Ahh...)
There's a certain chick I've been sweet on since I met her
What's her name? I can't tell you (Ahh...)
I can't reveal her name until I get her
What's her name? I can't tell you (Ahh...)
Someday I'm gonna wake up and say
I'll do anything just to be your slave
And there's a certain girl I've been in love with a long, long time
What's her name? I can't tell you (Ahh...)
There's a certain girl I've been in love with a long, long time
What's her name? I can't tell you (Ahh...)
I can't reveal her name until she's mine
What's her name? I can't tell you (Ahh...)
I've tried to make her time and time again
Still we're introduced as nothing but friends
And there's a certain girl I've been in love with a long, long time
What's her name? I can't tell you (Ahh...)
Yeah and breakfast at Igor's ....bar restaurant gameroom laundromat ..24/7.....met Willie Nelson there....two doors down from the timeshare.....St. Charles Avenue....
@ never been there, but they tell me it's nice...
I love Jazz! J'adore le francais.
STL has the 2'nd biggest Mardi Gras parade in the country due to our large French heritage. None of the locals can say any of the french terms properly, oh well.
Now when I was just a little boy
Standin' to my Daddy's knee,
My poppa said, "Son, don't let the man get you
Do what he done to me.
'Cause he'll get you,
'Cause he'll get you now, now."
And I can remember the fourth of July,
Runnin' through the backwoods bare.
And I can still hear my old hound dog barkin',
Chasin' down a hoodoo there,
Chasin' down a hoodoo there.
[CHORUS:]
Born on the Bayou,
Born on the Bayou,
Born on the Bayou,
Yoh, yoh.
Wish I was back on the Bayou
Rollin' with some Cajun Queen.
Wishin' I were a fast freight train
Just a-chooglin' on down to New Orleans.
[CHORUS]
Do it, do it, do it, do it.
Oh, Lord.
Oh, get back, boy.
I can remember the fourth of July,
Runnin' through the backwoods bare.
And I can still hear my old hound dog barkin',
Chasin' down a hoodoo there,
Chasin' down a hoodoo there.
[CHORUS]
Alright! Do, do, do, do.
Mm-mm-mmm, oh...
@try it....you'll like it.....
David Wilcox....Canadian...song is Riverboat Fantasy....look for the original studio recording...you will thank me later after your cigarette....and shower.....
Sittin' on a riverboat havin' a party
Me and my Cajun Queen
She's turnin' twenty-one on the Mississippi river
Headin' down to New Orleans
The year is 1894
Oh, come on mama, and love me some more
Her dark eyes flash like a gambler's rings
She shakes her pretty head and sings
Life for me is a riverboat fantasy
Watchin' the sun go down
A rock and roll band with a reefer in my hand
Now look at that wheel go around
Cocaine kisses and moonshine misses
That's the life for me
I'm sailing away from my heartache
On a riverboat fantasy
Can't think, can't drink anymore whiskey
I could've drunk a river dry, this old boat
She's just sittin' in the moonlight
Catchin' the gleam in her eye
Showers of rain come pourin' down
The sky full of stars like a French lace gown
Shimmer, glimmer, I think I'm gonna fall
Woops, catch me mama, that's all
Life for me is a riverboat fantasy
Watchin' the sun go down
A rock and roll band with a reefer in my hand
Now look at that wheel go around
Cocaine kisses and moonshine misses
That's the life for me
I'm sailing away from my heartache
On a riverboat fantasy
Delta sun beats down like a hammer
It gives the low down blues
I've got a cotton gin, I'll weave and spin
And shake the dust from my shoes
I made my money, I found me a honey
To tickle me under my chin
When morning comes, I'll ride into town
And worry about the shape I'm in
Life for me is a riverboat fantasy
Watchin' the sun go down
A rock and roll band with a reefer in my hand
Now look at that wheel go around
Cocaine kisses and moonshine misses
That's the life for me, yes, it is
I'm sailing away from my heartache
On a riverboat fantasy
@ that's the life for me
yessir, good stuff-he likes it, hey Mikey!
Turns me on, to this:
Back in the year nineteen and five
We had to have a rhythm very much alive
We didn't have thing
Still we'd sing
We had to walk for the king til' the bell would ring
Hypnotizin' boogie
It's that hypnotizin' boogie
It's that hypnotizin' boogie
Sure feels good
I can't dance but I wish I could
Now Queen Victoria gave a costume ball
Bow to your lady turn your back to the wall
One guy jumped up in a ratty zoot suit
Ripped off his mask he wanted to see if the sucker flew
Hypnotizin' boogie
It's that hypnotizin' boogie
It's that hypnotizin' boogie
Sure feels good
I can't dance but I wish I could
Back in the Coliseum man oh Rome
Caesar and Cleopatra make themselves at home
Julie said to Cleo, let's take a little walk
Cleo said to Julius shut up and don't talk
Hypnotizin' boogie
It's that hypnotizin' boogie
It's that hypnotizin' boogie
It's that hypnotizin' boogie
Gimme such a thrill
I wanna dance I wish I could
Hey inside outside every all around
We got to hava hava the hypnotizin' boogie type of sound
If you ain't heard it
You wish to know
I'll give you a little taste just before I go
Hypnotizin' boogie
Hoo hypnotizin' boogie
It's that hypnotizin' boogie
Gimme such a thrill
I wanna dance I think I will
I wanna dance I think I will
@ turn down the air....or crack the window.....please
I've got a feeling, a feeling deep inside
Oh yeah, oh yeah, that's right
I've got a feeling, a feeling I can't hide
No no no, oh no, oh no
Yeah yeah I've got a feeling yeah
Oh please believe me, I'd hate to miss the train
Oh yeah, yeah, oh yeah
And if you leave me I won't be late again
Oh no, oh no, oh no
Yeah yeah I've got a feeling yeah
I've got a feeling
All these years I've been wandering around
Wondering how come nobody told me
All that I was looking for was somebody
Who looked like you
I've got a feeling, that keeps me on my toes
Oh yeah, oh yeah
I've got a feeling, I think that everybody knows
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah
Yeah yeah I've got a feeling yeah
Yeah
Everybody had a hard year
Everybody had a good time
Everybody had a wet dream
Everybody saw the sunshine
Oh yeah, (oh yeah) oh yeah, oh yeah
Everybody had a good year
Everybody let their hair down
Everybody pulled their socks up
Everybody put their foot down
Oh yeah
Yeah I've got a feeling
A feeling deep inside
Oh yeah
Oh yeah
I've got a feeling
A feeling I can't hide
Oh no
Oh no no no
Yeah yeah yeah yeah
I've got a feeling
I've got a feeling
Everybody had a good year
Everybody had a hard time
Everybody had a wet dream
Everybody saw the sunshine
Everybody had a good year
Everybody let their hair down
Everybody pulled their socks up
Everybody put the foot down
Oh yeah
Oh yeah
I've got a feeling
Yeah yeah yeah yeah
(Oh my soul, so hard.)
@it's just another day....
Hopping off for the day....sure has been a long hard ride....
Back in the 'morrow...God Willing and the creek don't rise....
Finally on KDED...from 1961 a song by Bobby Blue Bland.....
I pity the fool
I said, "I pity the fool"
Well, I pity the fool, yeah
I said, "I pity the fool"
That falls in love with you
And expect you be true
Oh, I pity the fool
Look at the people
I know you're wonderin' what they're doin'
They're just standin' there
Watchin' you make a fool of me
Look at the people
I know you're wonderin' what they're doin'
They're just standin' there
Watchin' you make a fool of me
Oh, I pity the fool, I pity the fool
That falls in love with you
I pity the fool, I pity the fool
That falls in love with you
She'll break your heart one day
And then she'll laugh and walk away
Oh, I pity the fool
Look at the people
I know you're wonderin' what they're doin'
They're just standin' there
Watchin' you make a fool of me
Look at the people
I know you're wonderin' what they're doin'
Yeah, they're just standin' there
Watchin' you make a fool of me
Oh, I pity the fool
I said, "I pity the fool"
I pity the fool
I said, "I pity the fool, baby"
Oh, I pity the fool
Mr. T got nothing on me.....
@ Climate Control
that term has found new meaning as of late...
decisions, decisions; what to counter with, in this game...
Open up your mind and let me step inside
Rest your weary head and let your heart decide
It's so easy
When you know the rules
It's so easy,
All you have to do
Is fall in love
Play the game,
Everybody play the game of love (yeah)
When you're feeling down and your resistance is low
Light another cigarette and let yourself go
This is your life
Don't play hard to get
It's a free world
All you have to do is fall in love
Play the game,
Everybody play the game of love
My game of love has just begun
Love runs from my head down to my toes
My love is pumping through my veins (play the game)
Driving me insane
Come, come, come play the game, play the game, play the game, play the game
Everybody play the game of love
This is your life
Don't play hard to get
It's a free, free world
All you have to do is fall in love
Play the game
Play the game of love
Your life
Don't play hard to get
It's a free, free world
All you have to do is fall in love
Play the game
Play the game of love
@my opening farewell....
It's a game...the game of life....nobody wins....
As long as we get to smile, laugh, snort, blush, question....or spew coffee on the monitor at work it makes it all worthwhile....
Your mileage may vary.....
I am an old woman
Named after my mother
An old man is another
Child who's grown old
If dreams were thunder
Lightning was desire
This old house it would've burned down
A long time ago
[Chorus:]
Make me an angel
That flies from montgomery
Make me a poster
Of an old rodeo
Just give me one thing
That i can hold on to
To believe in this livin'
Is just a hard way to go
When i was a young girl
I had me a cowboy
It wasn't much to look at
It was a free ramblin' man
There was a long time
No matter how i tried
The years they just rolled by
Like a broken down dance
[Chorus]
There's flies in the kitchen
I can hear them there buzzin'
And i ain't done nothing since i woke up today
But how the hell can a person
Go on to work in the morning
To come home in the evening
And have nothing to say
@ later alligator
Almost made it through Monday at work. I like what you said earlier about Monday not having to mean the end of the weekend.
It's just that my reality is more fantasy than their daydream...
One man, one goal,
One mission.
One heart, one soul,
Just one solution.
One flash of light, yeah,
One god, one vision.
One flesh, one bone,
One true religion.
One voice, one hope,
One real decision.
Wowowowo, gimme one vision, yeah.
No wrong, no right.
I'm gonna tell you there's no black and no white.
No blood, no stain.
All we need is one worldwide vision.
One flesh, one bone,
One true religion.
One voice, one hope,
One real decision.
Wowowowowo, oh, yeah, oh, yeah, oh, yeah!
I had a dream when I was young,
A dream of sweet illusion,
A glimpse of hope and unity,
And visions of one sweet union.
But a cold wind blows,
And a dark rain falls,
And in my heart it shows.
Look what they've done to my dream, yeah.
One vision!
So give me your hands,
Give me your hearts.
I'm ready.
There's only one direction.
One world, one nation,
Yeah, one vision.
No hate, no fight,
Just excitation,
All through the night,
It's a celebration, wowowowo, yeah.
One [echo]
(One vision)
One flesh, one bone,
One true religion.
One voice, one hope,
One real decision.
Gimme one night, yeah.
Gimme one hope, hey.
Just gimme, ah.
One man, one man,
One bar, one night,
One day, hey, hey.
Just gimme gimme, gimme, gimme
Fried chicken.
Vision [fading]
Mongtomery Angels and Alligators
an all-time favorite -- matters not if sung by the Maywood mailman or Ms. Raitt. Sublime, regardless.
ok, back to work...
Well, I saw my baby walkin' with another gal today
Well, I saw my baby walkin' with another gal today
When I asked him what's the matter,
This is what I heard him say
See you later alligator, in a while, crocodile
See you later alligator, in a while, crocodile
Can't you see you're in my way now,
Don't you know you cramp my style
When I thought of what he told me, nearly made me lose my head
When I thought of what he told me, nearly made me lose my head
But the next time that I saw him,
Reminded him of what he said
See you later alligator, in a while, crocodile
See you later alligator, in a while, crocodile
Can't you see you're in my way now,
Don't you know you cramp my style
He said I'm sorry pretty baby, you know my love is just for you
He said I'm sorry pretty baby, you know my love is just for you
Won't you say that you'll forgive me,
And say your love for me is true
See you later alligator, in a while, crocodile
See you later alligator, in a while, crocodile
Can't you see you're in my way now,
Don't you know you cramp my style
I said wait a minute 'gator, I know you meant it just for play
I said wait a minute 'gator, I know you meant it just for play
Don't you know you really hurt me
And this is what I have to say
See you later alligator, after 'while crocodile
See you later alligator, after 'while crocodile
Can't you see you're in my way now,
Don't you know you cramp my style
@ John Prine
Good night Irene, goodnight....
Ill see you in my dreams....

@ More Stuff
So Shapiro told a caller on the Golden Road Sunday that there would be "more stuff" on the scale of what Trixie said...
So Boys, bring on the stuff!
Sarge, kick the tires and light the fires!
Let's roll
Tonight I'm gonna have myself a real good time
I feel alive and the world it's turning inside out Yeah!
I'm floating around in ecstasy
So don't stop me now don't stop me
'Cause I'm having a good time having a good time
I'm a shooting star leaping through the skies
Like a tiger defying the laws of gravity
I'm a racing car passing by like Lady Godiva
I'm gonna go go go
There's no stopping me
I'm burning through the sky yeah!
Two hundred degrees
That's why they call me Mister Fahrenheit
I'm trav'ling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic man out of you
Don't stop me now
I'm having such a good time
I'm having a ball
Don't stop me now
If you wanna have a good time
Just give me a call
Don't stop me now ('cause I'm having a good time)
Don't stop me now (yes I'm having a good time)
I don't want to stop at all... yeah!
I'm a rocket ship on my way to Mars
On a collision course
I am a satellite I'm out of control
I am a sex machine ready to reload
Like an atom bomb about to
Oh oh oh oh oh explode
I'm burning through the sky Yeah!
Two hundred degrees
That's why they call me Mister Fahrenheit
I'm trav'ling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic woman of you
Don't stop me
Don't stop me
Don't stop me
Hey hey hey!
Don't stop me
Don't stop me
Ooh ooh ooh (I like it)
Don't stop me
Don't stop me
Have a good time, good time
Don't stop me
Don't stop me
Ooh ooh alright
Ooh I'm burning through the sky yeah!
Two hundred degrees
That's why they call me Mister Fahrenheit
I'm trav'ling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic man out of you
Don't stop me now
I'm having such a good time
I'm having a ball
Don't stop me now
If you wanna have a good time
Just give me a call
Don't stop me now ('cause I'm having a good time)
Don't stop me now (yes I'm having a good time)
I don't wanna stop at all
La la la la laaaa
La la la la
La la laa laa laa laaa
Going thru motions. Stones.
Thanks for confirmation that I passed on stones in dallas. What you saw is what I feared. With a finite entertainment budget (which was seriously blown for FTW), I'm glad I passed on the stones. I was regretting it for a while sort of. I'm sure it was fine but I want spectacular!
@back in the 'hood.....
grew up in NYC,
my brother in law attended SUNY Stonybrook....
house band was the Soft White Underbelly.....
Later morphed into these guys.....
this one goes out to mkav...
thanks for the suggestion.....
Too wild to care
You got animal stare
You got "stay anywhere" in your eyes
Think you're leading me on but you can be anyone
'cause I know you'll be gone 'fore I rise
And we're going through the motions
Yeah, we're going through the motions
Yeah, we're going through the motions
Going through the motions
Staying with you gave us something to do
I almost thought it was true for a while
'cause there's love in your lies
You're so thinly disguised
You couldn't tell right from wrong if you tried
And we're going through the motions
Yeah, we're going through the motions
Yeah, we're going through the motions
Going through the motions
To thee I dedicate this photograph
I'll even sign it "love to you" again
And when it's faded and forgotten in some book
You'll sometimes look
You'll sometimes look
You'll sometimes look
It's a game, it's a game
No let's call it a shame
'cause there's no one to blame just to pay
You were a friend for a day
So don't cry if I say
That you got what you want, it's ok
And we're going through the motions
Yeah, we're going through the motions
Yeah, we're going through the motions
Going through the motions
Yeah, yeah, we're going through the motions
Yeah, we're going through the motions
Yeah, we're going through the motions
Going through the motions
Coffee is on......
gonna be a pretty one !
Good day sunshine, Good day sunshine,
Good day sunshine.
I need to laugh, and when the sun is out
I've got something I can laugh about,
I feel good, in a special way.
I'm in love and it's a sunny day.
Good day sunshine,
Good day sunshine,
Good day sunshine.
We take a walk, the sun is shining down,
Burns my feet as they touch the ground.
Good day sunshine,
Good day sunshine,
Good day sunshine.
And then we lie, beneath a shady tree,
I love her and she's loving me.
She feels good, she knows she's looking fine.
I'm so proud to know that she is mine.
Good day sunshine...
@ Oh you pretty things...
a good day indeed
The heart is a bloom
Shoots up through the stony ground
There's no room
No space to rent in this town
You're out of luck
And the reason that you had to care
The traffic is stuck
And you're not moving anywhere
You thought you'd found a friend
To take you out of this place
Someone you could lend a hand
In return for grace
It's a beautiful day
Sky falls, you feel like
It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
You're on the road
But you've got no destination
You're in the mud
In the maze of her imagination
You love this town
Even if that doesn't ring true
You've been all over
And it's been all over you
It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
It's a beautiful day
Touch me
Take me to that other place
Teach me
I know I'm not a hopeless case
See the world in green and blue
See China right in front of you
See the canyons broken by cloud
See the tuna fleets clearing the sea out
See the Bedouin fires at night
See the oil fields at first light
And see the bird with a leaf in her mouth
After the flood all the colors came out
It was a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
Beautiful day
Touch me
Take me to that other place
Reach me
I know I'm not a hopeless case
What you don't have you don't need it now
What you don't know you can feel it somehow
What you don't have you don't need it now
Don't need it now
Was a beautiful day
It's a beautiful day in Zamunda
The rain rain went away so Holly can go out and play!
I had a wonderful walk to work today, there was a cool breeze blowin the trees around, the sun is shining and there is blue sky and wispy clouds. Glad I have a window in my office.
It's a beautiful morning, ah
I think I'll go outside for a while
And just smile
Just take in some clean fresh air, boy
No sense in staying inside
If the weather's fine and you've got the time
It's your chance to wake up and plan another brand new day
Either way
It's a beautiful morning, ah
Each bird keeps singing his own song
So long
I've got to be on my way now
No fun just hanging around
I got to cover ground
You couldn't keep me down
It just ain't no good if the sun shines
When you're still inside
Shouldn't hide
Still inside
Shouldn't hide
Still inside, shouldn't hide.
Oh, oh, oh
Ooh-ah-ah
Ooh-ah-ah
There will be children with robins and flowers
Sunshine caresses each new waking hour
Seems to me that people keep seeing more and more each day
Gotta say, lead the way
It's okay, brand new day
Gotta say, it's okay
Brand new day, gotta say, lead the way
Oh, oh, oh
Ooh-ah-ah
Oh, oh, oh
Ooh-ah-ah
Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh
Ooh-ah-ah
Oh
Ooh-ah-ah
