Through the kindness of friends living out there at the time, I got to see two shows in Oakland. I BARTed out there this night and had a good time while they stayed home. This was my 22nd Dead show in 10 years, and it was kind of winding down for me. I'd still love to go back in time and see this one though.

    Morning Dew
After the show, Phil told me that he was very surprised by Morning Dew because they hadn't rehearsed it before the shows. (They rehearsed almost all of the songs because Jerry had forgotten a lot of them due to his coma.) When Phil asked Jerry about it, Jerry just told him, "I just remembered it!" Thank you, and Stay In Touch!

    who's got this show??
When I think back on the moment when Jerry plays the next notes that we all now know it's Morning Dew, and that roar of the crowd going right through me, and I know exactly why I am here....and there were so many other magic moments; the China/Rider; Jack Straw...one of those nights, when, at the end of the night, layin' back remembering, basking in the glow, and I say,"This was my best show!"

If that is the case with this Morning Dew is a good tidbit of info. I LOVE THIS morning dew sounds like Jerry is crying with his voice. I have always considered this in the top 5 of all that I saw. Which is around 30 or 40 Morning dews. Hamton 84 along with saratoga 83 also the Ventura 84 and Maine in fall of 84. all stand out dews to me. After reading the story about jerry and this Morning Dew from Marcus abov Adds more to my thinking of this one being up there for me.

There is new version of this show on the internet archives. Finally an audience recording popped up. I am very grateful for it also. I have been wanting to hear what it sounded like with us in the background and it only took some 30 years. Is a very good sounding recording to boot. For those of us who prefer a great aud vs sound board it is here now. I suggest you check it out. sorry if against posting rules here.
