@ He talked me into it...
TTB is where it's at! Diablo motors had a hell of a sale, downtown yesterday, Word got around, no money down, take years and years to pay. When I got there the lot was bare, but the salesman said hold on. For a little cash, I gotta two-tone Nash out behind the barn. If the Devil danced in empty pockets, he'd have a ball in mine. With a nine foot grand, a ten piece band and a twelve girl chorus line. I'd raise some loot in a three piece suit, give 'em one dance for a dime, If the Devil Danced in empty pockets, he'd have a ball in mine. Well he said friend it ain't the end let's see what I can do. If you own a home, I've got a loan, tailor made for you. Then above the racket a voice in my jacket said, "I'll tote the note." The devil made me do it, talked me in to it, and that was all she wrote. They say debt is a bottomless pit where the devil likes to play. I'd sell my soul to get out of this hole, but there'd be hell to pay. If the Devil danced in empty pockets, he'd have a ball in mine. With a nine foot grand, a ten piece band and a twelve girl chorus line. I'd raise some loot in a three piece suit, give 'em one dance for a dime, If the Devil Danced in empty pockets, he'd have a ball in mine

the cover version reminds me of line dancing class... I'm not responsible... you made me do it Well, way down yonder on the Chattahoochee It gets hotter than a hoochie coochie We laid rubber on the Georgia asphalt We got a little crazy but we never got caught. Down by the river on a Friday night Pyramid of cans in the pale moonlight Talkin' 'bout cars and dreamin' 'bout women Never had a plan, just a livin' for the minute. Yeah, way down yonder on the Chattahoochee Never knew how much that muddy water meant to me But I learned how to swim and I learned who I was A lot about livin' and a little 'bout love. Ya ha Well, we fogged up the windows in my old Chevy I was willin' but she wasn't ready So I settled for a burger and a grape sno-cone I dropped her off early but I didn't go home. Down by the river on a Friday night Pyramid of cans in the pale moonlight Talkin' 'bout cars and dreamin' 'bout women Never had a plan, just a livin' for the minute. ...got caught up in a Ry Cooder cover... Blame it all on my roots I showed up in boots And ruined your black tie affair The last one to know The last one to show I was the last one You thought you'd see there And I saw the surprise And the fear in his eyes When I took his glass of champagne And I toasted you Said, honey, we may be through But you'll never hear me complain 'Cause I've got friends in low places Where the whiskey drowns And the beer chases my blues away And I'll be okay I'm not big on social graces Think I'll slip on down to the oasis Oh, I've got friends in low places Well, I guess I was wrong I just don't belong But then, I've been there before Everything's all right I'll just say goodnight And I'll show myself to the door Hey, I didn't mean To cause a big scene Just give me an hour and then Well, I'll be as high As that ivory tower That you're livin' in 'Cause I've got friends in low places Where the whiskey drowns And the beer chases my blues away And I'll be okay I'm not big on social graces Think I'll slip on down to the oasis Oh, I've got friends in low places [3rd Verse:] I guess I was wrong I just don't belong But then, I've been there before And everything is alright I'll just say goodnight And I'll show myself to the door I didn't mean to cause a big scene Just wait 'til I finish this glass Then sweet little lady I'll head back to the bar And you can kiss my ass Names have been changed to protect the innocent.....

Same here but in a small town. The lines are clearly drawn and it is literally the train tracks dividing North from South. I even lived on the far east side which was the farthest from the good parts of town. You learn a lot that way. And how to be self reliant. Baby, ev'rything is all right, uptight, out of sight. Baby, ev'rything is all right, uptight, out of sight. I'm a poorman's son, from across the railroad tracks, The only shirt I own is hangin' on my back, But I'm the envy of ev'ry single guy Since I'm the apple of my girl's eye. When we go out stepping on the town for a while My money's low and my suit's out of style, But it's all right if my clothes aren't new Out of sight because my heart is true. She says baby ev'rything is alright, uptight, out of sight. Baby, ev'rything is alright, uptight, clean out of sight. She's a pearl of a girl, I guess that's what you might say, I guess her folks brought her up that way, The right side of the tracks, she was born and raised In a great big old house, full of butlers and maids. She says no one is better than I, I know I'm just an average guy, No football hero or smooth Don Juan, Got empty pockets, you see I'm a poorman's son. She says give her the things that money can buy But I'll never, never make my baby cry, And it's all right, what I can't do, Out of sight because my heart is true, She says baby ev'rything is alright, uptight, clean out of sight. Baby, ev'rything is alright, uptight, clean out of sight. Baby, ev'rything is alright, uptight, ah ah ah ah, Baby, ev'rything is alright, uptight, clean out of sight. Baby, ev'rything is alright, uptight, clean out of sight.

Greetings to all this first weekend of fall; Do a merry dance: a waltz or a jig, join in, make it up, think big; Sing loud, be happy and free, for you'll see that is the key; Doesn't matter about the song, or whether it's short, medium or long; That which is in our spirit and heart, is what sets all of us apart; The dance, the song, the giving, is what keeps us all a living; It's Fall, and the Summer ends, crisp weather is around the bend; Love long, hug strong, be glad, that the Sunshine Daydreamers are rad; So look to the future with glee, share with your friends and see; That in the end we'll find, that Mickey is right, Be Kind; Love to you and you and you, don't worry, be sad or blue; That's the message, meaning and call, in geomeister's poem to ya'll. Blessings and peace... g

Quite the wordsmith.... A crisp clear day....gotta love fall and the changes the season brings..... After seeing the Aspens lend a golden blanket to the Rockies, returning home, we marveled in the beginning of the same transformation in the Northeast. Looking forward to warm cider with cinnamon sticks, Apple crisp and the kids dressed up for Halloween.... Watching the sun rise as I drive to work each day.... Sitting by the fire in the evenings.... Being thankful for each and every day, no matter what they bring.... Coffee is on.... ba dus is idling....

been in DFW for 6+ years now. love this time of year here...perfect weather...but i do miss "real fall" that i enjoyed almost everywhere else i've lived. for a few weeks, at least, i miss northeast Ohio, minnesota and maryland weather. hmmmm...but when I'm golfing in January, not so much! glad to see the bus s till driving. i've been buried at work for a few weeks and feared no one t the wheel anymore.

They go 'round and round, and it was not twenty years ago today, but a mere 90 days ago when we parked the bus right over there in the shadow of Soldier Field and let it tick off the heat from its well worn engine... ...as we exited ba dus and merrily gathered from hither and yon to shake hands and hug family, all seemed perfect in the world....at least in our little corner of it. Daydreamers everywhere were meeting perhaps for the first time sharing smiles and miles traveled, lifting a cold one, singing a song and dancing a jig. Color us all Happy Happy Happy. That was and is the stuff folklore is made of, our special weekend just ninety days ago. Then the music! My oh my, did you enjoy that? A fiftieth anniversary celebration and family reunion. Comes a time when you look back and just smile, smile smile. Yes, that weekend was just that good. So happy Fall, Daydreamers near and far, let that wheel take you on adventures greater than your imagination and dreams, and thank you for making our internet house a home. Bus is idling, ready for another trip...stop by, hop on, set a spell, share a song and tell a tale.

I have 2 Hard Tickets for Seats in the ADA section of the General admission area. This gives you full access to General Admission area with the benefit of a seat. I bought them for myself as I have a back Injury, but like to be close to the action and where the sound is better. Regrettably I can no longer attend the show and have to sell the tickets. Including Shipping ( which would be priority with insurance) The pair would be $345.00. I can show proof of purchase in my name,..Pictures of tickets or whatever else would be desired. Preferred method of payment would be Paypal, I guess.I hope someone can use these. you can text me at (570)335-0626. Thanks for any and all consideration,...Bob

Morning all. The wheels on the bus, well you know how the song goes..... After immersing myself in Mayer and Company for the past 10 days, I must say I am pleasantly surprised. There is a new energy in old Bobby. Chimenti shines as always and Otiel brings a non Phil bottom end to the mix. Drumming is spot on. Plenty of room to shake our bones, as the sardine box of Soldier Field is replaced by smaller crowds in manageable arenas..... Couple of updates, Stella Moon and Cain74 send their regards but seem to be off the bus for now.....for those of us with shows in our future, may they be joyous ones, next stop home in da Buff on 11/11..... May the spirit of Jerry be with us all.... Remember kids.....you can check out any time you like but you can never leave.... Oh yeah....coffee is on.....Philz of course....

Hey now Daydreamers, and good morning to all those still on Ba Dus! I must say, in the words of David Ganz, "That boy can really play guitar!" Was fortunate to listen to the show on Saturday broadcast live on Sirius and it was smokin'. The crew had interviewed the whole band earlier in the day and Mr. Mayer was very articulate and humble about playin in the band... The music NEVER stopped! Had the tunes crankin, dancin' in the livingroom! Let's keep this bus a rockin' and a rollin' down the road

Another season of touring came to a close for me last night as the boys rocked da buff. Solid first set with an Althea just for Geeky, US Blues for the Veterans and an El Paso, just so Bobby could screw up the words, just exactly perfect. What a mess he made of that....in a good way.... The second set took off with a scorching viola Lee blues, courtesy of Mr. Mayer....btw...up close he looks nothing like Klangstone. Lainie Bear got her elusive wang dang doodle then a new speedway into dark star to truckin to dark star.....drums back to dark star a china doll, then our national anthem, sugar mags... Casey jones took us home safely..... One observed OD with paramedic assistance, some lightweight went to ground on the first verse of promised land...waste of a good pit ticket... This Dead and Company tour exceeded all my expectations and the vibe was more early 80s in the arenas than the FTW spectacle....that's a good thing....if you go be ready to have your face melted....
