started by UncleJon 7-29-66 & 7-30-66 Vancouver BC OK, I've waited awhile to post a vine out here because there are so many folks ready, willing and able. External HD are getting affordable

I haven't gotten one for myself yet, but a friend of mine bought an external hard drive awhile back, just to back up everything on the computer's hard drive. He got tired of backing up onto DVDs. I think he does it weekly. It takes it quite awhile ( I think 300 Gb) so he starts it before going to bed. He's not backing up 750 gigs but its a terabyte hard drive so it'll hold it. He had a computer drive crap out on him a year or so ago so he's sensitive about it. Tough break on the HD, UJ, do you have a list of your missing shows? And have you investigated having the HD "recovered"? It can be pretty expensive, or it can be reasonably inexpensive depending on the malfunction (if the platters are still intact, I think its not too bad). And just so I can pretend this post is on-topic: hey, Vancouver '66, awesome show! This one IS still alive

Some slow communication between me and h_t_h, and the fact I was on vacation for over a week, but it is on it's way to him right now. I've only had time to listen to the first disc, but it is some really good sounding garage-era Dead. I recommend anyone who has let this one slip by to hop on.
