I signed up for an in-stock reminder on the 2XL hoodie. I am not a f'n 2XL !! The shreds of vanity I cling to cost me a too tight SD'ers ladies cut. As painful as it might be, I'm on the large-marge waiting list. (Ah, to recall my slender days when I tossed back a gleaming mahogany mane, instead of being comfy fat & silvered :-))

I'm still at the mines for a little longer. Friday afternoons in the summer are very casual here in this office...so I'm streaming Ventura County Fairgrounds 7/18/82. apparently I was there but that was a long time ago and I needed a reminder...I'm half way through and it's a good show. not great yet, but good. of course, I'm in a sterile office listening to it on a tinny laptop speaker, and not standing on the beach of the Pacific Ocean jammin with 8 or 10,000 like-minded smilin fans, enjoying our favorite band. Never forget those feelins.Phish is in DFW this week, maybe I'll catch them. Trey got me hooked I think. Tony...too bad about the QC at FTW merchandising. really sucks when you're anticipating something like that and it comes in wrong. I'm sure they'll make it right tho. have a great weekend all.

What in the name of SD-ville is going on here?? I'm a thinking Rich & Holly need their own dueling song blog :-) TGIF all... BTW, really disappointed now on two faretheewellmerch.com purchases. The mens XL sizing is more like L and the ladies purple tank top at a whopping $64.99 arrived today with a sideways logo. Pretty lame QC happing at the merch shop gang....right back to the returns it goes.

Still here in the mines for a while...they gave us some frozen treats to beat the heat. Have a good weekend. Next week I get to serve my civic duty in the Jury pool. Thanks in advance for the care package. Sometimes I lead, sometimes I follow This time I'll go where she wants me to go She said maybe today, maybe tomorrow Deep in the woods down the low valley road While no one was lookin' on the old plantation He took her all the way down the long valley road They sent her away not too much later And left him walking down the old valley road Walk on Walk on, walk on alone Walk on, walk on Walk on alone, alone Out in the hall, they were talking in a whisper Everybody noticed she was gone awhile Somebody said she's gone to her sister's Everybody knew what they were talking about Whoa, while no one was lookin' on the old plantation He showed her what they do down the long valley road She came back around like nothing really happened And left him standing on the old valley road Walk on Walk on, walk on alone Walk on, walk on Walk on, walk on, on the valley road Standing like a stone on the old plantation The rich old man would have never let him in Good enough to hire, not good enough to marry When it all happens, nobody wins Walk on Walk on, walk on alone Walk on, walk on Walk on, walk on alone, alone

Oh hell yes! Soundtrack of my life part 1 for sure. I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh Lord And I've been waiting for this moment for all my life, Oh Lord Can you feel it coming in the air tonight, oh Lord, oh Lord Well, if you told me you were drowning I would not lend a hand I've seen your face before my friend But I don't know if you know who I am Well, I was there and I saw what you did I saw it with my own two eyes So you can wipe off that grin, I know where you've been It's all been a pack of lies And I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh Lord Well, I've been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh Lord I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh Lord, oh Lord And I've been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh Lord, oh Lord Well I remember, I remember don't worry How could I ever forget, It's the first time, the last time we ever met But I know the reason why you keep your silence up, No you don't fool me The hurt doesn't show But the pain still grows It's no stranger to you and me And I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh Lord Well, I've been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh Lord I can feel it in the air tonight, oh Lord, oh Lord But I've been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh Lord I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh Lord But I've been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh Lord I can feel it in the air tonight, oh Lord, oh Lord, oh Lord But I've been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh Lord, oh Lord.

Never heard of em'. Watching Live from Loreley 1987. Good stuff indeed. And they say deadheads are freaks...what's up with the face paint? [Chorus] The freaks come out at night The freaks come out at night The freaks come out at night (the freaks come out) The freaks come out at night Discos don't open till after dark And it ain't till twelve till the party really starts And I always had to be home by ten Right before the fun was about to begin Crowds of people lined up inside and out Just one reason, to rock the house But in the day time the streets was clear You couldn't find a good freak anywhere, 'cause [Chorus] Now when freaks get dressed to go out at night They like to wear leather jackets, chains and spikes They wear rips and zippers all in their shirts Real tight pants and fresh mini skirts All kinds of colors runnin' through their hair And you could just about find a freak anywhere But then again, you could know someone all their life But might not know they're a freak unless you see them at night, 'cause [Chorus] Now the party's jumpin', the place is packed And when the crowd's like this, I'm ready to rap But before I could bust a rhyme on the mic Freaks are all over me like white on rice Freaks come in all shapes, sizes and colors But what I like about 'em most is that they're real good lovers They do it in the park, they do it in the dark But most freaks are known for breakin' hearts You could never tell what a freak was thinkin' of And you may never catch a freak without at least one glove And they don't walk, when they step, they strut And nine times out of ten they drive you nuts But take my advice, you don't stand a chance Freaks are so bad they got their own dance So if you wanna live a nice quiet life Do yourself a favor, don't come out at night, 'cause [Chorus] Hut one, hut two Hut hut hut [Chorus]

suffice it to say that we are rolling.... rolling right along So glad that liketohike and Ozark hopped on, it appears that Stella Moon has awakened from her golden slumbers and Mayor Klangstone is in for another go around. It's good to know they are still alive and well. So without further adieu I will turn the driving over to Miami, you'll be in good hands with Miami, she's an excellent driver and buys all her underwear at K Mart (or so I'm told). I'm headed to the back with Mr. Trump and watch him drain the swamp, who knows, maybe I can land a cabinet position? Sarge, put on the TV....5 minutes to Wapner. Coffee's on...

Hey now geomeister! So glad you graced us with your presence. The collective conscience of the Dead community is alive and well. Be sure to know you will travel with me in spirit at each and every show I happen upon, promise. It will never be the extravagance of FTW but I am sure there will be more laughs, smiles, hugs and twirls ahead in this journey of life after Jerry. It's funny how every time a new tour is announced, we all come out of hibernation. Feel free to wander about ba dus, grab a cup of coffee and tap your foot to the tunes, Sarge is cueing up some Old and In the Way for you now, is Midnight Moonlight ok? Thought so. There's a seat next to Ivanka back to the right, come to think of it the whole Trump clan is sitting on the right, I wonder why? Hey Donald, get your head back in the window, if that squirrel blows off your dome again, I swear I'm not going back for it this time, and STOP tweeting, it's unprofessional.

Hey! I can offer my thoughts having seen Bob and his band in Cincinatti in January. Our show was about 1/2 acoustic and 1/2 electric. It, of course, featured a lot of songs from the Blue Mountain album. Bob also did some of the Dead songs that lent themselves to acoustic play. For the electric part, he had the guys from the National. They do OK. Some of the more traditional GD songs were good, but, and I hope this is not bad to say, I don't think they are quite strong enough musicians to pull off the improvisation that makes some songs "Dead" songs. They attempted Dark Star at our show and I felt that it sorely needed a lead guitar. But... overall it was great. It's always a treat to see Bob live in any context. I like the cowboy stuff so I was happy to hear those live. And, being with all of our brothers and sisters again is always a joy! Here is the setlist from my show: http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/bob-weir/2017/proctor-and-gamble-hall-cin… Enjoy the show! Peace, -Dave

Matt I am sure you will see a solid show. Circumstance and work commitments prevented me from attending the Ryman show last October, but liketohike and hubby were there and I am told it was very good. As Dave said, it's the players, the National, while good are not suited for the extended jams, last month Bobby filled in for Dave Nelson and his band on tour in Alaska, he played half Blue Mountain, and half Dead, the Dead and solo stuff was amazing thanks to the backing players....Pete Sears and Barry Sless on pedal steel made the music alive...I don't know who Bobby will have but you will enjoy yourself.... stay well

thanks for the insight. that is about what i expected from what i've read. currently listening to a show from last october...not bad. i, too, have always liked cowboy bob, so, one way or another, this will be a show. weir with dave nelson sounds awesome. i'll see if i can find that anywhere.

The show was really good. Song selection WAS excellent, execution excellent, some nice jams. as you and Rich suggested, it would be a good, solid show...and it was good to good very good, and some moments really shined. Deep Ellum Blues was a rave-up, especially as the venue was about a mile from the original Deep Ellum section of Dallas. GDTRFB was probably my highlight, my wife really appreciated Easy to Slip. STOM plodded a bit IMO, Althea was uneven but good. The crowd turned Truckin into a sing along and drowned out the band. it was fun bt I can't tell you if was good or not. Bob stepped up to the mike and just ignored the lyric "Dallas!"..it seemed spontaneous. This show seemed to have more "red dirt" west Texas influence in the Blue Mountain songs than what I've sampled on YouTube. "When in Rome...", I guess. There was a new song they played that was more jazz-blues than west Texas..I'll have to figure out which it was...that was my "new" song highlight. I think by the end of the tour they'll stretch it out to a nice jam. I, too, was a little disappointed in the lead guitar work. I've heard Kimock before, and liked him, but last night, something was just not there for me. He was not bad at all...he just was not exceptional. I know it is not fair to hold Garcia, or even Anastasio or Mayer, as the standard when listening to Dead songs, but I do. So that is the context in which I say he was not exceptional. All in all...I've seen Weir as the Bob Weir band way long ago, Ratdog in many of its lineups, and then last night...last night was certainly the most unique, and maybe the most enjoyable of maybe 10 or 12 Bobby-led shows I've been. I would certainly go again. The venue's acoustics are exceptional, too, so that made it that much better.

glad you liked the show, reviews I've read were positive...there will never be another Jerry, so we may as well stop the comparisons... On a different note Matt, ever try Brother Thelonius White Belgian Ale....although I prefer IPA's, this California brew is kick ass in taste as well as ABV, over 9 percent.... Regards to the missus, our birthdays are right around the virtual corner.... be well....
