I think if you start a "blog" it will allow you to post photos to the blog. Not sure yet on dedicated photo page... We're movin from da dus to a "techno-house". Geo, does the livingroom have a fireplace? @rrrgrrr glad you enjoyed the show last night. Props to the boys. When that fat old sun in the sky is falling, Summer evening birds are calling. Summer's thunder time of year, The sound of music in my ears. Distant bells, New mown grass smells so sweet. By the river holding hands, Roll me up and lay me down. And if you sit, Don't make a sound. Pick your feet up off the ground. And if you hear as the warm night falls The silver sound from a time so strange, Sing to me, sing to me. When that fat old sun in the sky is falling, Summer evening birds are calling. Children's laughter in my ears, The last sunlight disappears.

Stones at Ralph Wilson Stadium last night.. Quite entertaining....more like a Broadway show, choreographed.... Can't help but think there was something behind the curtain.... Backing tracks ala ELO or Millie Vanilli The show was too damn perfect.... Back in the 70's they were garage band sloppy, not last night. Interesting this zip code tour set has a running time of 2 hours and 10 minutes.... Every show 2 hours and 10 minutes, not 9 not 11.... but I digress.... Glad I got to see them one more time, Mick for a 71 yo has the body of Twiggy....and a lot of energy... IMO the night belonged to Charley Watts....the man can still bring it.... Now on to other matters.... Some folks trust to reason Others trust to might I don't trust to nothing But I know it come out right Say it once again now Oh I hope you understand When it's done and over Lord, a man is just a man Playing Playing in the band Daybreak Daybreak on the land Some folks look for answers Others look for fights Some folks up in treetops Just look to see the sights I can tell your future Look what's in your hand But I can't stop for nothing I'm just playing in the band Playing Playing in the band Daybreak Daybreak on the land Standing on a tower World at my command You just keep a turning While I'm playing in the band If a man among you Got no sin upon his hand Let him cast a stone at me For playing in the band Playing Playing in the band Daybreak Daybreak on the land Playing Playing in the band Daybreak Daybreak on the land

Once again my friend, a spot-on post. I'm as much to blame as anyone, especially given Geo's generosity to fund the SD.com URL. Maybe it's the navigation, maybe it's the UI, but I could use a little schooling on say, how to get straight to the blogs, post & read, or, how to download & upload shared pics. Anyone care to take a swag at a user manual/SD.com for dummies documentation?

Our Basic Problem: The tools don't match the function
The Sunshine Daydreamers are alive and well. The Sunshine Daydreamers remain electrified by what happened in Chicago and want to continue to share the experience. The tools we are using to get that done, however, are showing their weaknesses. The flaws on the email side are apparent: the stream of consciousness, reply all activity can be exhilarating when there is a hot topic, but that is better suited to a chat room function, and so last week we had several more people withdraw from the email list in frustration. The Dead.net forum has obvious shortcomings as well, principally that its only organization is chronological: if there had been a new Pearl of the Day several days ago from Meister Geo, I would only find it by wading back through pages of song lyrics; and then I would only be hoping to find something because there is no possibility to check if there is a new post from a particular individual. It would seem to we need to all take a step forward, as one, to the SunshineDaydreamers.com site that was so generously organized for us. There is a blog section that can have thematic organization (so that the discussion last week about which covers were played would not be spread over four email threads (none of the Subjects of which mentioned playlists nor covers)). I have not seen enough posting to know for sure, but it seems possible that one can approach that forum and check to see who has made a new post, and then make a choice whether to have a look at the 196 posts by one person or the 3 posts from someone else. Yes, there is a password, but we all had passwords on Dead.net where we started out, so that can't really be much of an obstacle. Just sayin people, we need to channel this gusher of love and enthusiasm; got to make sure its built to last.

Tom...glad you're back on the bus. Klangstone stole the keys and left a holy mess though. I'll take the wheel for a few weeks, we also have Miami on board. Gonna drop Mr. Fonts in Atlanta tomorrow. We will be in Burgettstown before you know it, SPAC and shithole arena in Camden on the radar. Citi still a hope and a dream. No Chicago here, re. Wrigley....after FTW I swore off of massive cattle call shows. Smaller venues and Vegas and Cap Theater Phil for me from now on. Take care, love to you and yours... Dammit Klangstone take your donut boxes with you next time....

no one stole any dus...Our west coast mayor was duly authorized to drive on the west coast shows, and he left the dack of ba dus pretty clean. The snacks were labelled clearly, unfortunately, bogs can't reab and next thing you know was Sarge got ahold of that ziplock of drownies, he tore into the dox of bonuts and left a royal mess. Ralph said he would take care of the mess, but then the psychedelic squirrels showed up wanting directions back to FTW, and one thing led to another. Just wanted to set the recorb straight, so no-one started a recall movement or anything. Peace, and be kind Ralph.

Hey now and greets, y'all from the ATL. After a 3 outta 4 screamin' sets in Mountain View (Sun nite set one was awful), the boys are now east and we'll be at Lakewood Amphitheater tomorrow night. Weather looks to be cooperating so fingers-crossed they come in ready to serve-up some good ole southern hospitality. BTW, Sat nite at Boulder was amazing. FOD on acoustics - LOVED IT!!!

Great show, got an Easy Wind, Throwing Stones and a belated Flag Day Liberty. Highlight was Lil John doing his best David Lindley falsetto Stay imitation on The Wheel. Only gripe Pennsylvanias 5 0. For Chrissakes, you think El Chappo was in attendance. What a bunch of tools. ASL and Roadking, Enjoy Fenway kids! as an aside, a few weeks ago on another subform my concern that setlists have stagnated since 10/2015.... To quote Rosanne Rosanadana...."nevermind"

Hey rgerrgelis et alii, Glad to hear the feared cloud of stagnation is lifting so more and more spontaneity can seep into Dead & CO '17. You could tell from the nugs tease last night that Burgettstown was going new places (I'd love to hear the whole show). And those Boulder shows were definitely high in the Rockies. Looks like a few clouds may keep temps down in Boston so y'all can better meld with the music. Onward Daydreamers!

Onward y'all! BTW: Bit the bullet and got a brand new Oat Cart last week with mucho mas "After Midnight Oat-age". Just love that "new cart smell!"

A good time was had by all, in spite of the lawn area being oversold by three-fold, in my opinion. And the brief summer shower, even as the horizon cleared for the sunset, came just as Bobby reached the crescendo on Looks Like Rain; perfectly timed. As a 50th birthday present we brought some friends to their first exposure of any kind to this world. They had a blast. And made so memorable for the incident of the friendly fellow who approached us early in the first set and asked if he could leave his Birkenstocks under our beach chairs. We then proceeded to share some of what he grows himself, and did not see him again until the end of intermission. He was OVERJOYED to find us and his sandals. Our friends now have an indelible impression of the nature of interactions between Heads. By now you will have heard of the continuing modifications to the treatments of the old song pairs: China and Rider as bookends to the set rather than a doublet: anything is possible. And what Mr. Mayer did with Deal was epic. EP-IC.

Thanks for sharing Graceful Tom. Those kind of tales just don't come across in the streams & downloads. What a just exactly perfect 50th BD celebration for your lucky friends – sounds like they're now on the bus. And speaking of "bus", where's Geomeister? Anybody spot him at any of the shows? To everybody in Bristow, enjoy the ride tonight. Looks like it'll be cooling off by showtime and the rain will hold off til after midnight (but who'd notice anyway!) Onward!

Yeah, I saw flashes.Or heard. Or something. Before the Camden show the band wrote on Twitter “You know what they say about Sunday shows.” Everyone was waiting for Samson, as on the previous 3 Sundays: didn't happen. But Brokedown Palace has now been played 3 times, each as a Sunday encore. Hmmm.. To me there is no mistaking "They Love Each Other" as a Sunday-theme song. And maybe it's a stretch, but Big Boss Man is fitting. But what about those stained-glass themed graphics? I would not know if they have been used all summer, but it did not seem like a a coincidence.

What a spot on post....the past two nights were magical, something about this band has changed, it has truly evolved...they are no longer the cover band I thought they would become, they have carried these songs we all know to a new level. I thought for sure set 2 first beats was going to be Samson....but Iko with Cowboy Bob on tambourine? C'mon.... TLEO touched my heart....as did the Brokedown encore.... ...never miss a Sunday show, indeed.....

My mom had the nerve to be born 90 years ago this weekend, so altho I'll be in Dallas feting our grande dame, I'll be sneaking peeks at all the hi-brow banter from this board during the shows. I'll just have to listen after the Wheel's covered just a little more ground. Have a blast and remember "The Pic-A-Nic", whatever that means . . . Onward.

Jeff I streamed entire show from the recliner. It was a marathon where second set more than compensated for the first. A 17 minute Sugaree that made me feel like I was wading thru a sea of Vaseline, but that could have been the marijuana minutes kicking in. Bobby walked off stage mid UJB reprise to end first set, and sort of apologized for it. Bertha was as tasty as new coke can be. I have to stop comparing this iteration to any prior though, as you well know "nothing compares to the real thing". I really, really miss Jerry. He's the real thing, baby. Hey Miami, Happy Birthday have a great show, you know its gonna get stranger.

I really enjoyed the entire show. Bertha still makes me dance every time i hear it.My wife reminded me how much I disliked shakedown street when the vinyl LP came out in 78 or 79. It is one of many songs that I didn't really "get" until I heard it live. Love it now. Oteill on China Doll was excellent. Let Oteill sing, indeed. Can't really think of a low point...music never stopped was just OK in my opinion, if i had to single out something. I really liked STOM. I watched STOM from 7-4-15 right after...gotta say, preferred last night's version. I liked what they did with Me and my uncle. everything.
