Christina Schreiber and Jon Hunt’s beautiful fan-made posters for the spring 1981 tour can be seen in the Dead Head-curated poster/advertising collection at GDSets.com. The Little Pink Rooster are stylish contributions to the long history of show-specific Dead posters, notable for being early fan-made additions to the canon.
Growing up in New Jersey, Jay Blakesberg began photographing the Dead in the late 1970s, and he and his camera became familiar parts of Dead shows in the years to follow. His latest book, RetroBlakesberg is a photo-memoir capturing (in part) his time on Dead tour.
Growing up on Brooklyn, Bob Minkin began photographing the Dead in the late 1970s, and he and his camera became familiar parts of Dead shows in the years to follow. His latest book is Just Bobby which is just that.
